Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 260: Forgotten Story
For the next ten minutes, Rion stood staring at the heavenly tree with a reluctant expression on his face.
As the silence continued to stretch, Zaelyane muttered, "Why are you just standing there?"
Hearing her voice, Rion came out of his daze and looked at her with his face painted grim.
"What else am I supposed to do...?" He asked in a low voice.
She furrowed her brows, and seeing his current state, worry filled Yuura, and he stepped beside him. "My liege..."
"You have to find the cure," the royal daughter stated with her lips stretched into a faint smile.
Rion glanced at her before he took a deep breath and thought while clenching his fists. ’I have to focus.’
"Let’s move somewhere private," he mumbled with a flat expression.
The royal daughter accepted his request with a nod and began walking back to the pale pagoda.
After walking for a few minutes, the four of them returned to the pagoda, and the royal daughter sat down on her cushion.
She pointed her finger towards the wooden coffer by the left wall and said, "Zaelyane, can you please?"
Zaelyane walked to the coffer, took out three cushions from it, and placed them before her.
The royal daughter smiled at her and whispered, "Thank you..."
Zaelyane didn’t respond and simply stepped back.
Seeing that, the royal daughter let out a chuckle and said, "Take the seats."
All three of them sat down on the cushions, and Rion asked, "How do I meet the giants?"
The royal daughter nodded and answered, "I don’t know where the giants actually are, but I believe you should meet those who have already met them."
Rion frowned. ’But I only know that the founder of Leonara had met the giants...’
A thought appeared in his mind, and he muttered, "Did the founder leave information about the giants?"
The royal daughter shrugged. "I don’t know. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t, but he is the only clue we have, so we have to follow that clue."
"Right..." The excitement died down in his eyes, but all of a sudden, he remembered something and asked, "You said that the royal prophecy was a lie. Yet I have the item mentioned in it, how and why?"
"Hmm... How do I explain this?" The royal daughter pondered over her words for a few minutes before she answered, "There is another prophecy. Much older than the royal one, and the figure mentioned in that prophecy is to claim the item."
’Huh? Someone else was supposed to get the Abysmal Flame?’ Rion wondered. ’Is it because of the system?’
He didn’t know how strong his system was, but seeing how easily it played with the rules of this world, he was sure that the system could actually do it.
’Let’s just move on,’ he remarked inwardly, but before he could voice his words.
"I never thought about the possibility of them being the same person... not even the royal daughters of the past thought it," the royal daughter mumbled under her breath, shock darkening her face.
Rion blinked a few times. ’It makes sense for her to think that, considering she is unaware of the system.’
"So, are you suggesting I go to Leonara Kingdom and find anything I can about the giants?" He questioned.
"Yes." She nodded. "That’s the only method we have for now."
’You aren’t very helpful...’
"Thank you for helping me," Rion stated as he stood up from the ground.
As he was standing up, something fell out of his pocket and rolled towards the royal daughter.
Rion raised a brow and looked at the object.
It was a big fang with blue cracks all over it.
’Is that Dora’s?’ He questioned as he had his in inventory.
He stepped forward to pick it up, but just as he was about to, the royal daughter questioned with a shocked expression, "How do you have that?"
Seeing her react so intensely over something so simple, Rion frowned. "What?"
The royal daughter pointed a finger towards the dragon’s fang and muttered coldly, "How do you have a dragon’s fang?"
Stupefied from her overreaction, Rion mumbled while looking at Zaelyane with a puzzled expression, "What’s going on?"
Zaelyane answered with a shake of her head, "I don’t know."
He looked back at the royal daughter, and Yuura was the one to answer her, "It’s an item carved out from a real dragon’s fang... It’s a symbol of duty and determination in our tribe."
The royal daughter looked at him with a baffled expression. Her lips opened and closed for a few moments as she spoke, "This is not just a simple symbolic creation. It’s sorcery."
"What...?" The words left him before he could even understand the meaning behind her words.
’Sorcery? How is that possible? Aren’t elves the only ones that can do sorcery? How would Marin do it and why?’ His mind churned, and thoughts appeared continuously.
"I can guess your thoughts," the royal daughter stated with a frown.
"Elves are not the only ones that can do sorcery. Humans can also do it, but it’s too weak, and it’s done with the help of ether dust and runes, while the sorcery on this is much stronger and complex than simple runes... it is done by dragon tongue."
’Dragon tongue?’ His mind went blank, and he thought, ’What’s going on?’ 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"But there’s no dragon in the red and black mountains," Zaelyane muttered with an unusually worried expression.
The royal daughter smiled and said, "There’s a story much older than the history that the world remembers.
It’s about how a dragon fell in love with a human and became one himself just so he could stay and love her.
The children born from their bond were humans, but they could use the dragon’s tongue.
Upon reaching adulthood, they built an empire much vaster and stronger than any, and named it after their mother — Seliona Empire."
Rion’s back went cold, and he mumbled in his head, ’Isn’t that the empire that Marin told me about...?’
