Chapter 244: Leaving for Neptuma Federation

[You have stored gold coins x5000!]

Rion grinned from ear to ear and returned to the street of Barligrahm Inn.

As he walked closer to it, Yuura, Zaelyane, and Dora entered his vision.

Yuura was holding two bags in his hands and one on his back, while Zaelyane was holding onto Dora, whose face was about as pale as a corpse.

He channelled his aura into his feet, and as he stepped forward, he appeared right beside them.

"My liege!" Yuura called out to him with a relieved expression, and Rion glanced at him with a smile.

His gaze shifted towards Dora, and without saying a word, he turned around and said, "Let’s go."

Calvus, Jamie, and Salis watched them leave, and Jamie questioned Calvus, "Are you sure about this, young master?"

Calvus nodded with a faint smile. "I am. He has his own people to take care of... he didn’t come here to get tied with us."

Without wasting a single moment, Rion directly made his way towards the largest stable within the capital, and others followed behind him.

Dora looked around at the busy roads, gleeful chuckles, and beautiful smiles of the citizens enjoying the festival, but she knew there was nothing she could do to change Rion’s mind.

She turned her head towards Rion and stared at his back, remembering the time when he had declared the purple as his, and no one was able to stop him from achieving that.

’Everything would be fine,’ she thought while gripping a dragon’s fang in her fist.

A few minutes later, they reached the stables, and Rion rang the bell placed by the door. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

The sound of footsteps reached them, and a lean old man with white hair and wrinkled face walked out with a sweet smile on his face. "How can I help you?"

"We want to rent a carriage," Rion answered evenly and checked the insides of the stable with his Zone.

"I see." The old man rubbed his arms with the cloth tied to his waist and asked, "How long would that be? One day, one week, two weeks?"

"I don’t know," Rion muttered without batting an eye.

The old man frowned. "You don’t know? Hmm..." he placed a hand under his chin and muttered, "What’s your destination?"

"Neptuma Federation," Rion stated.

The old man fell silent. Occasionally neighs of the horses reached their ears, and Yuura looked around with an annoyed expression.

"What did you say?" The old man asked again, assuming that he had heard wrong.

"Neptuma Federation," Rion repeated in the same tone as before.

The old man turned and muttered while gesturing them to leave, "Go annoy someone else."

Rion frowned. "What do you mean?"

The old man stopped and said with an irritated look, "Why would anyone want to go to Neptuma during the light festival? Are you pulling my leg?"

Rion ignored his irritation and asked, "How much?"

The old man slowly turned his head towards Rion and whispered with a baffled expression, "What?"

"How much would it take for you to take us to the Neptuma Federation?"

"Are you serious?" Unable to believe Rion’s words, the old man looked at others, and that was when he noticed Dora’s pale complexion.

’Now I get it...’ the old man noted in his head and said, "If we don’t take any break, it will take us a week to reach Neptuma, and with a break it will take us at least twelve days."

He rubbed his chin. "We take one gold coin for each day, so it will cost you fifteen gold coins for twelve days, including the carriage’s maintenance."

The old man’s eyes flared as he got ready for the round of negotiation.

"Alright." Rion nodded and looked at Dora.

"No, can’t do— huh?!" The old man’s eyes went wide in disbelief and shock.

After studying Dora for a few moments, he looked at the old man and said, "Two carriages..."

The old man nodded in daze. "Alright."

He stepped forward, offered his hand to Rion, and said, "I am Edric."

"I am Bael." Rion shook hands with him, and Yuura frowned at his usage of an alias instead of his real name.

<Is something the matter?> He questioned dejectedly.

Corners of Rion’s lips lifted upwards, and he responded, <No, I just wanted to use an alias.>

<Makes sense.> Yuura agreed with a nod.

Edric walked back inside and called out to one more of his companions.

A few minutes later, he walked out while wearing an attire similar to that of an adventurer and said, "Follow me."

They followed behind him, and lines of carriages entered their vision.

Edric turned towards them. "Which carriage do you wish to rent?"

Rion pointed at the one that was most stable and comfortable for long travel and the one beside it as he spoke, "Those two."

"Great choice, you have an eye for carriages," Edric muttered as he walked over to the carriages and shouted, "Frank, how long are you going to take?"

"Coming, coming!" A voice came from the other side of the stable, and a few minutes later, a young man with a muscular build, short brown hair and grey eyes walked out while holding onto the reins of four horses.

He displayed a smile to Rion and others and handed the reins to Edric.

Edric connected two of the horses to each of the carriages, then he unlocked their doors and said, "Please take your seat."

Rion offered his hand to Dora and said with a smile, "Let’s go."

Dora nodded as she placed her hand in his, and both of them climbed the bigger carriage while Yuura and Zaelyane climbed on the other one.

"Let’s go! Hiya!" Edric and Frank pulled the reins.

The horses neighed, and dust clouds rose as they began moving forward.

A few minutes later, their legs became faster, and they galloped towards the east gate of the capital.

The carriages passed through the gates and made may towards the coastal kingdom that had no king — Neptuma Federation.
