Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 243: Selling Gold For Gold
Hearing his voice, Dora slowly opened her eyes and looked at him with a faint smile.
Rion raised both of his hands towards her and asked, "Why are you so cute, huh?"
Seeing his childish behavior, she let out a weak chuckle and whispered, "I just am."
He grinned, gave her a deep nod, and stated while pointing a finger at her, "Point."
Then he walked over to her side, helped her sit up, and at that moment, Calvus, Salis, Yuura, and Zaelyane entered the room.
Seeing them enter, Dora frowned. "What’s going on?"
Rion looked at her with a smile and whispered, "Don’t worry about it."
He placed his hand on the back of her hand, looked at Yuura, and said, "Yuura, pack everything."
Confused, Yuura stayed still for a moment before he nodded and began packing everything in the bags.
His gaze shifted towards Calvus. "Young master Calvus, I am deeply touched knowing that instead of keeping me to yourself, you choose to let me go... One day, I’ll return this kindness."
Calvus smiled. "It is nothing grand, lord Rion. It is simply what nobles do."
Rion chuckled, looked at Salis, and said, "Take care of young master."
Corners of Salis’s lips curved upwards. "That is what my job is, so lord Rion does not have to worry."
Rion nodded and felt a tug on his shirt.
His gaze drifted towards Dora, and she asked while frowning, "What’s going on?"
He stared into her eyes and answered in a humorless tone, "We are leaving."
Dora froze. Her lips parted, and a single word slipped out of them, "What?"
’I have to do this,’ he remarked in his head and added without looking away from her, "We are leaving for Neptuma Federation."
Dora blinked. "What about the festival?"
He locked his fingers with Dora’s and muttered with a desperate glint in his eyes, "It doesn’t matter."
His other hand touched her face, and he continued, "What’s the point of acting like everything’s fine when all of us know it isn’t? You are hurt... I don’t want you to be hurt. Fuck this festival and fuck their laws as well. If they dare stop us, I’ll destroy all of it."
A shiver ran down everyone’s spine, Dora’s hand instantly shot to his face, and she muttered, "Did... didn’t you say that you won’t force your strength onto others?"
Rion touched the purple upside-down teardrop under her lips and mumbled in a low voice, "I was naive back then... What’s the point in being restrained and humble if the people around him are getting hurt because of it?"
"B-But—"
"You know... There is one thing about my father that I absolutely hate..."
Hearing his words, she bit her lower lip and fell silent. It was the first time she had ever heard him negatively mention his father and hate in the same statement.
He looked at the ceiling. "For my father, his morals and ethics hold more importance than anyone else... if he can keep them by sacrificing everyone around them, he’ll do it."
"Hah..." he took a deep breath as he stood up from the bed, his eyes shifted towards Zaelyane, and he mumbled, "Please get her ready."
Zaelyane nodded evenly.
Rudy stepped out of the room, and Calvus, Salis, and Yuura followed behind him.
After stepping out, he sent a Mental Whisper to them, <I’ll be back in a few minutes.>
Yuura’s expression darkened. He raised a hand towards Rion, but before he could stop him, Rion was gone.
Rion activated Intent Veil and used Rhaek’s stealth aura technique on top of it to move through the streets of the market without being seen.
Golden flames flickered around his feet as he dashed through the busy streets like a phantom and stood before a jewelry shop.
A chime rang in the shop as he walked inside and looked around at the rings, necklaces, earrings, and other jewelry placed in the glass display.
A fat man with an attire as shiny as possible walked out from the door at the end of the shop and muttered while looking at Rion as if he were some kind of mythical creature, "Heahea, how can this humble one help you, my lord?"
’Let’s finish this quickly,’ Rion muttered in his head and disabled Intent Veil.
The next moment, the effects of the Honoured One pressed down on the shopkeeper, and he felt like Rion was an absolute entity sitting on the throne of gold, wearing nothing but gold, eating gold, and even further shiting gold while he himself just had a bunch of gold coins... catching dust.
He instantly fell on his knees and whispered, "M-M-My lord!!"
"Better," Rion commented.
He took out the 11.9kg Impure gold from his inventory, placed it onto the counter, and said, "I am here to sell it."
The shopkeeper’s eyes zipped towards the impure gold, and his mind exploded.
Rion placed a hand under his chin and mumbled in thought, "If I remember correctly, it should be around 11.1kg pure gold, and as per the conversion, it should be around five hu—"
"Five thousand!" The shopkeeper shouted with stars in his eyes.
Rion raised an eyebrow and looked at him with a puzzled expression. "What did you say?"
Upon feeling his gaze, the shopkeeper trembled in ways Rion didn’t feel complete with and muttered while pointing a finger at the gold nugget, "I am ready to give five thousand Bulorka gold coins for that!"
Hearing him, Rion fell silent.
"How much again?"
Beads of sweat rolled down the shopkeeper’s face, and he mumbled, "F-Five thousand."
Rion turned around. ’What the hell?! Five thousand!!! It’s only worth five hundred!’
The shopkeeper frowned. "Is this not enough...?"
Rion looked at him with a calm expression and said, "No, I was just expecting you to have a keener eye for the gold, but alas, let’s just do five thousand."
The shopkeeper’s eyes brightened, he shot to his feet, took out his pouch, and placed it in Rion’s hand. "This bag has a total of five thousand coins, my lord!"
Rion nodded impassively.
The shopkeeper strode towards the gold nugget, and Rion left the shop without making a single sound.
