Chapter 238: Checking The Rooms

The young receptionist asked her colleague to take over the reception desk while she showed the rooms.

’Why did I agree to two silver?!’ She thought while nervously biting her fingernails.

Rion and the others followed behind her, and Dora had her arms wrapped around Rion’s left arm like she was a koala and he was her favorite tree.

Other guests looked at the lovey-dovey couple with coy expressions. Feeling their gazes, Rion displayed a sheepish smile.

After walking for a few moments, they reached the staircase leading to the first floor, and Rion asked, "On what floor are our rooms?"

The young receptionist stopped in her tracks, turned towards him, and answered, "I believe you want the rooms to be beside one another?"

He nodded.

She clapped once and said, "Then we have four rooms available on the second floor."

Rion frowned, looked at Dora from the corner of his eye, and asked, "Is it possible for us to have one room on the first floor?"

She thought for a moment before she nodded. "We do have one room on the first floor."

He smiled. "Then we would like to have one room on the first floor and three on the third floor."

Hearing him, Yuura frowned and mumbled darkly, "My liege—"

Rion looked at him and said, "Yuura. You have to protect young master Calvus and Zaelyane, so no, you cannot stay on the first floor."

Yuura pressed his lips into a thin line and nodded reluctantly.

"Alright then," the young receptionist mumbled and climbed the staircase.

Others followed, but Rion stayed at the base and thought, ’There’s no other way, huh...’

He turned his head towards Dora and mumbled while unwrapping her arms from his, "Just a minute."

Dora looked at him with a puzzled expression and asked in a voice no louder than a whisper, "Why?"

He smiled, and the next moment, her world shifted as he picked her up in the princess carry and mumbled, "Are you fine?"

She blinked a few times, wrapped her arms around his neck, and mumbled while pressing her head against his chest, "Mhm."

He smiled and climbed the staircase.

Others, except Zaelyane and the young receptionist, looked at them with faint smiles, and Yuura clicked his tongue.

’It should’ve been me,’ he mumbled in his head and climbed the staircase while grumbling under his breath.

Zaelyane had her usual flat expression, and the young receptionist was fuming in her head, ’UGH!! Does he really have to show how lovey-dovey they are after reverse scamming me?!’

Once Rion reached the first floor, he lowered Dora, she lipped out of the carry and wrapped around his left arm.

Seeing that, the young receptionist screamed in her head, ’Oh God, I hate couples so much!!!!!!’

Outwardly, she kept a professional look and muttered, "If everything’s fine. We shall continue moving."

Calvus chuckled, raised his hand in a gesture to continue, and mumbled, "Yes, please."

The receptionist smiled at him, and all of them began walking.

A few minutes later, she stopped before a room, took out the key from her bag, handed it to Rion, and mumbled, "This is your first room."

Rion nodded, walked over to the door, opened it, and both of them — Rion and Dora — stepped inside the room.

Yuura followed behind them, placed one of the heavy bags beside the wooden wardrobe, and walked out of the room.

Rion directly walked over to the plush bed in the right corner of the room and made Dora sit on it.

Once Dora sat, he walked back to the door and mumbled while holding it, "Don’t forget to send Dinner."

"Huh?" Puzzled, the young receptionist asked, "Didn’t you say you won’t be having dinner?"

An amused expression appeared on Rion’s face. He raised his brow and questioned, "Are you going to charge us one silver for today?"

"Why would we do that...?"

He pointed at his stomach and said, "Because we didn’t have lunch here... so if you want those two silvers, you’d better send us dinner."

Hearing his absurd statements, the young receptionist’s lower jaw fell so low that it could touch the ground.

She shook her head, raised a finger, and retorted, "That’s not—"

Thwack!

But before she could finish her statement, he closed the door on her face and mumbled, "I would’ve let it slide if you hadn’t tried to scam us... However, now — I won’t even stop if you cried for it."

The young receptionist looked at the door with a baffled expression and mumbled under expression, "What kind of petty bastard did I make my enemy?"

Behind her, Calvus inched closer to Jamie and asked with a puzzled expression, "Why are they acting like this over some silver?"

Jamie let out a chuckle. "That is what poor people do, young master."

"Oh?" Calvus placed a hand under his chin and muttered, "How fascinating..."

’The fuck?’ Rion and the young receptionist cursed in their heads at the same time.

Zaelyane tapped the young receptionist’s shoulder and said flatly, "You have three more rooms to show."

"A-Ah! Y-Yes... follow behind me," she stammered, and all of them walked towards the staircase leading to the second and then the third floor.

On the other hand, Rion sat beside her, taking her hand, and mumbled, "You sure you want us to stay here for a few days?"

Dora nodded and whispered, "Yeah..."

Seeing her pale complexion and her sunken eyes, Rion pressed his lips into a thin line and mumbled, "During the night, I would channel my aura into you so you can enjoy the festival."

Dora smiled, placed her head on his shoulder, and whispered, "I am sorry..."

Rion chuckled, his eyes shimmered with concealed sorrow, and he stated, "What are you sorry for? It’s not something you can control..."

"Still..."

He playfully rubbed his face on her head. "Ugh! Stop this gloomy talk and rest!"

She let out a soft, tired chuckle. "Okay, okay."

He smiled, helped her lie in the bed, then he lay beside her and hummed softly while massaging her forehead.
