Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas-Chapter 58: Dummy, my eyes aren’t even fully gold
Chapter 58 - Dummy, my eyes aren't even fully gold
When I got back to the library, I found Min-Cheol sleeping.
Ah, he couldn't wait for me and ended up sleeping. Well, more cake for me then.
I sat down and had his head rest on my thigh while stroking his hair. He looked so peaceful.
The only time he slept right next to me, I couldn't watch him sleep because of how awkward the situation had turned out to be, and the next morning, he was gone by the time I woke up.
But now, I could watch him clearly.
It was such a shame this child had to pass through what he passed through. He grew up quicker than his peers and was forced to become an adult when he was still a kid.
That was probably why he was clinging on to me like a kid even when he was 24 years old. And that's also why I put up with him.
"Alright, sleep now. You need to work tomorrow. Don't give your employees a hard time." I said and then I noticed a little box next to my leg. "Huh? When did this get here?"
I stretched to pick it up and noticed it was quite an expensive box.
It wasn't a ring box because it was slightly bigger, so I wondered if it was an accessory box.
I looked at Min-Cheol. Was it his?
Well, there was no harm in peeping.
I opened it and found a shining gold bracelet. Wait, was this real gold? Why would he keep it so carelessly?
Aside from the bracelet, I found a note inside.
I opened the note and mumbled the words out,
"I thought you would like this because you like money a lot. I might be mistaken but I hope I'm not. It would really suit your eyes, Hyung."
It was a note written by Min-Cheol to me. Just when did he prepare this?
He couldn't even give it to me with his own hand because he fell asleep.
But to think he bought me a hold bracelet because I expressed how much I liked money. It wasn't a bad thing. In fact, I concur with this attitude.
I felt touched honestly. Not because it was such an expensive gift but because it made me feel they were putting too much meaning into my words.
And if Min-Cheol was already at this point then didn't that mean he was almost completely on my side?
"Dummy, my eyes aren't even fully gold." I muttered and cleaned my cheek, feeling wet fresh tears roll down my cheeks.
My efforts were finally paying off but that wasn't why I was crying. When was the last time someone surprised me like this?
Sure, the bracelet must've been very expensive, but it wasn't something too grand or exaggerated, so it had a deeper meaning to me compared to the stuff Jin-Yeok brought that day.
Those were actually just necessities ordered for me so I couldn't specifically call them gifts from thought.
'Min-Cheol, you're so sly. You've succeeded in pushing Ki-hoon aside and made your way to the top of the list.'
The one who treats me the best would definitely be my top favorite and Min-Cheol had just taken that spot from Ki-hoon with a little gift like this.
I was so elated that I didn't know if I could keep reading. I would just sleep and let my beating heart relax in the process.
The next morning, I woke up to find Min-Cheol watching me as I slept.
"Good morning, Hyung," he said and I rubbed my eyes.
"Good morning, Little Min," he smiled and kissed my hand and that was when I saw the bracelet on my hand.
Wait, I didn't put it on last night. Did he...?
He was smirking, instead of smiling as he usually would and said,
"It really suits you,"
"Thank you, Little Min," I said and looked at it in my hand. "I didn't realize you would get me something like this."
"I know it's not enough, so I'll get you a lot more." He said but I had a feeling it would suddenly start to get out of hand.
It was fine the first and second time, but if it continued, the others might join him and then it would be a gifting hazard.
"It's fine, Little Min," I said. "Instead of giving me more gifts like this, you should take me out sometime. Allow me to do the picking."
Hehe, I've never been able to shop as I like so if such a rich master took me out, I could pick anything I liked without even checking the tag.
"Really?" He looked at me surprised. "Then, do you want to go today?" He was excited.
Ah, I did not expect it to quickly. Of course, I would want to go right away without hesitation, but before I could answer, I started hearing footsteps and sat up.
Min-Cheol looked away from me and his gaze fell from soft to hard. He was so quick to change his countenance.
"Excuse me, master," a man stepped forward, and behind him was a swarm of guards in two straight lines.
"What do you want, Go-Ahn?" Min-Cheol asked. "Isn't it a bit too early for you to come get me?"
"My apologies, master, but it's almost eight, and you have to attend a meeting by 9 o'clock, so I thought it'd be best to come get you early," he said and dared to raise his head, his gaze shifting to me but that came with a price.
"Go-Ahn, is there something wrong with your glasses?" Min-Cheol asked, his tone cold.
"No, master. My glasses are completely fi--"
"Then why the hell did you look at my mate?!" He roared, his tone shaking Go-Ahn and the guards behind him.
I don't know what happened, but it looked like, as an Alpha, he had the ability to instill fear and pressure in his surroundings, but for some reason, I wasn't affected by it.
Go-Ahn, on the other hand, was absolutely terrified.
I guess this was the power of an Alpha.
"Tell me, do you want to lose your eyes?" Min-Cheol asked, but Go-Ahn immediately apologized with his head down at a ninety-degree angle.
"I apologize, master. Please forgive my rudeness."
Wow, wasn't this extreme?
I can tell this was how Min-Cheol ruled in the workplace. He was only a child in front of me but in front of others, he was a ruthless Alpha.
"Little Min," I called and he turned to me, his complexion lightening. "It's okay, it's not like he saw me naked or anything. He just made a tiny mistake."
"If he saw you naked then he'd be as good as dead."
Have some conscience, you brat. He was the one working really hard for you.
"Anyway, it seems we can't have that 'date' today, so how about another time? You need to get ready for work."
Min-Cheol pouted and nodded.
"Alright." He got up and lowered his hand to help me up. "It seems the weather is quite nice today, Hyung." He said as we walked past Go-Ahn and the guards. "I wonder what we'll have for breakfast."
It was at times like this that I realized that I had indeed changed Jo-Pil's-- or rather, my fate. If it were the original, I might've been treated the same way those guards were being treated.
I had to thank my stars that I was in Min-Cheol's good books.
