Fu Mingze stood silently as he became unable to move his eyes away from the woman who looked exactly like his wife. It was as if time stood still for him.

Tao Luqi felt uncomfortable with the murmurs around her, she felt as if everyone was staring at her and Fu Liang’s crying was not helping matters.

Fu Mingze could see how uncomfortable and confused she was and it was then he realized that this woman wasn’t his Meiyi. If his Meiyi was alive then there was no way that she would have stayed away from her family for four years and besides, he saw her dead body with his own eyes, he held her burnt body in his arms.

His hands went to the blue necklace on his neck and Fu Mingze closed his eyes with a deep breath before opening it. He walked forward to the woman and said in a calm voice "I’m sorry for the inconvenience my son has caused you."

Bai Jian who was watching Fu Mingze knew his friend was far from being calm and to be honest who would be after seeing a woman who looked exactly like his dead wife but at this moment he was proud of Fu Mingze, because if Fu Mingze acknowledged this woman as Yang Meiyi and she ends up just being a look-alike, then, the only one who would end up getting hurt would be Fu Liang.

Bai Jian was amazed that even at this moment, Fu Mingze was still thinking about his son.

Tao Luqi went speechless for a moment when she saw Fu Mingze so close to her, Dai Qiao wasn’t exaggerating when she said he was handsome.

"Luqi dear, Mr Fu is apologizing to you." Tao Hui said softly.

"Huh? Yeah right, there is no problem at all." Tao Luqi said as Fu Liang hugged her legs even tighter ignoring their conversation.

Fu Mingze clenched his fist tightly when he heard her voice, how was it possible that even their voice sounded the same?

Ye Qingyi saw Fu Mingze’s clenched fist and quickly walked up to him, she held his hand in front of everyone and spoke with a soft voice "I think it’s best we take Fu Liang home."

Tao Luqi looked at Ye Qingyi’s hands-on Fu Mingze and felt a little disappointed, it turns out he is not single after all, but why does she feel disappointed? It’s not like it’s any of her business anyway.

"Fu Liang, let’s go." Fu Mingze strictly said.

Fu Liang shook his head and glared at his father "I won’t leave without Mommy."

"She is not your mother."

Ouch. Tao Luqi thought with a frown, though it was true she wondered why hearing him say that brought a certain pain to her heart.

"Let’s go." Fu Mingze said more coldly and with a harsher tone that he has never used on his son before.

Fu Liang turned to Tao Luqi with watery eyes and said "I don’t want to go with him, Daddy is mean."

Tao Luqi smiled and carried Fu Liang in her arms and said "Then you won’t go with him."

"Tao Luqi!" Tao Hui called out with a warning.

Tao Luqi ignored her father and looked at Fu Mingze as she said "He is only a kid, how could you talk to him so harshly?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Aren’t you overstepping your boundaries? Just because he called you his mother doesn’t mean you are?" Ye Qingyi said with a scoff.

Tao Luqi looked at Ye Qingyi and ignored her, it was as if she just looked at someone who was beneath her. She turned her gaze to Fu Liang and said "Stop crying, Mommy won’t let you go with your mean dad."

Fu Liang nodded and hid his face on her neck. He smiled as he closed his eyes, she smelled just like his Mommy, it must be Mommy then.

Fu Mingze on the other hand was confused about what to do, he knew his son very well, if he were to drag the kid away from this woman’s arms then he would cry and scream back home even going further to refuse dinner. But, there was something else he did not approve of, the way she called herself his mom.

"I know you are trying to help but calling yourself his mother is doing far from helping." Fu Mingze said coldly, as he looked at his son who was comfortable in a stranger’s arm.

"I agree with Fu Mingze on this matter, you should give Fu Liang back to him." Tao Hui added.

Tao Luqi looked at Fu Liang who had closed his eyes peacefully and said "No, I won’t give him. The thing is if I give him to you now then he might start crying again, I think it’s best to give him back only when he has deeply fallen asleep."

"I won’t leave mommy." Fu Liang suddenly said as he hugged his Tao Luqi even tighter.

"Thank you and once again, forgive my son’s actions." Fu Mingze said calmly.

Tao Luqi smiled and said "No need to say thank you, this just means that we are equals. I heard my daughter called you daddy and now your son is calling me his mom."

"Your daughter? You are Tao Mei’s Mother?" Fu Mingze asked with a frown.

Tao Luqi nodded as she brought Fu Liang closer to her, the little boy was light weighed.

Fu Mingze nodded and allowed Tao Luqi to carry Fu Liang.

A few murmurs were still heard but the event continued with Fu Liang being in Tao Luqi’s arms.

To Ye Qingyi, the remaining hours of the events were nothing but torture because after the award calling, businessmen were just gathering around Fu Mingze, the man have not even spoken more than two words to her.

Fu Mingze on the other hand found it difficult to concentrate on any conversation, his gaze always went back to finding Tao Luqi who had now placed a sleeping Fu Liang on her lap.

"She is beautiful, isn’t she?" A voice sounded behind him.

Fu Mingze turned to see a young man looking at him with a smile, the man handed a glass of champagne to him.

"No, I’m driving." Fu Mingze refuses.

"Oh, right. My name is Dai Shuo, a big fan of yours and also Tao Luqi’s fiance."
