Transmigrated to Another World and Doted on by Everyone!-Chapter 242: Extra: Little Mermaid (Part 20)
Rong Xingyu nearly flung his hand away.
Then he realized, it was the egg that was moving.
Seeing the egg like this, Rong Xingyu could not help but smile.
This little egg was so cute.
Rong Xingyu poked the egg with a finger, making it wobble to the side like a roly poly toy.
And he withdrew his hand just in time, a minute before the egg could get angry.
It was so fun.
But gradually, as the egg became more familiar with its surroundings and grew bolder, Rong Xingyu realized that this was absolutely a little troublemaker!
No, more accurately, this egg was way too mischievous!
"Could this be a naughty egg?" Rong Xingyu’s soft mutter was overheard by Ding Yixin.
Ding Yixin chuckled quietly.
He reached out and tapped the white egg, his tone carrying a hint of warning. "Don’t make trouble for your mommy."
"How long until it comes out?" Ding Yixin asked.
This time he was asking when the egg would hatch; previously he had asked when Rong Xingyu would be able to "deliver."
Rong Xingyu remembered that it would be very soon.
After the little mermaid gathered enough energy, it would break out of the shell on its own.
Rong Xingyu could not help but look forward to that day.
He wondered whether it would be a little mermaid or a little human.
Ding Yixin also looked forward to it, but now that there was this egg taking away Rong Xingyu’s time and energy, although Ding Yixin didn’t say anything, he still felt somewhat displeased in his heart.
When he thought about how, after the egg hatched in the future, Rong Xingyu’s time would be occupied even more, Ding Yixin’s gaze darkened.
He lifted the egg out of Rong Xingyu’s arms and placed it in the crib in another room.
Rong Xingyu: "?"
With his arms suddenly empty, Rong Xingyu still looked a little dazed when Ding Yixin returned.
"What was that?"
Ding Yixin, however, wrapped his arms around Rong Xingyu.
Now Rong Xingyu had finally "unloaded," and since merfolk and humans conceived children differently, there was no need for any so called confinement period.
Rong Xingyu had been glowing all along and instead looked even more beautiful than before.
His gaze swept over Rong Xingyu’s rosy cheeks as Ding Yixin gently kissed his neck.
"What are you doing..."
Rong Xingyu was stirred by Ding Yixin’s kisses as well, the temperature in the room seeming to rise.
He raised his hands to hug Ding Yixin as if offering his own body up too.
Ding Yixin did not answer, his kisses instead trailing down along Rong Xingyu’s collar and gradually moving lower.
Rong Xingyu let out a soft breath, his eyes gradually growing moist.
What was about to happen next needed no further words.
But just as Rong Xingyu’s reason was slowly slipping away under Ding Yixin’s touch, he suddenly heard a knocking sound coming from outside the door.
Rong Xingyu: "..."
The sound wasn’t loud, but it wasn’t easy to ignore either.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment.
Ding Yixin had no choice but to get up and open the door.
After opening it and saw it was a white egg outside Ding Yixin’s face immediately turned dark.
Rong Xingyu sat cross-legged on the bed with his pajamas loose and hanging, exposing his entire shoulder.
His eyes were still slightly moist and his lips looked even more vivid from the earlier "rough handling."
Rong Xingyu had also heard the faint knocking just now, so he leaned forward curiously to look toward the doorway.
He saw Ding Yixin step aside, and when he turned back to look at Rong Xingyu, there was a hint of helplessness in his eyes.
Then Rong Xingyu saw a round egg hopping and bouncing toward him.
Rong Xingyu: "..."
Why did it somehow look... aggrieved from their egg’s movements?
Rong Xingyu subconsciously reached out from the bed and caught the big white egg that finally bounced straight into his arms.
"Oh!" Rong Xingyu hugged the egg, finally feeling less tense than before, and let out a breath of relief. "You really scared me."
Watching such an egg hopping around on the floor, it was hard not to worry that its shell might crack open from a bump.
Ding Yixin who had closed the door and walked over: "..."
If it could even knock on the door, then hopping a couple of times on the floor was hardly a big deal.
The egg burrowed straight into Rong Xingyu’s arms, rubbing back and forth as if it had suffered a tremendous grievance.
Rong Xingyu was amused by its appearance and couldn’t help but laugh.
He raised his hand to stroke the egg, his voice gentle. "What’s wrong, baby? Didn’t you go to sleep?"
The egg shook left and right very earnestly as if it were shaking its head.
"Could it be that you’re afraid of the dark yourself?" Ding Yixin crouched down by the bed, his tone somewhat uncertain.
As soon as he finished speaking, the egg in Rong Xingyu’s arms immediately shook even more vigorously.
It was clearly protesting Ding Yixin’s words.
Ding Yixin raised his eyebrows and a trace of depth flashing through his eyes.
And when Rong Xingyu saw this expression on Ding Yixin’s face, he couldn’t help but feel a bit speechless inside.
Previously, every time Ding Yixin showed this kind of expression, it meant he himself was about to be tricked by him.
Now, he wasn’t even letting the egg off!
But Rong Xingyu did not expose Ding Yixin.
Instead, he cooperated in tacit understanding, chiming in as if disagreeing, "How could our baby be afraid of the dark? It’s the bravest egg!"
The egg swayed back and forth; this time it was nodding vigorously.
"But I heard that brave eggs all sleep by themselves." Ding Yixin’s gaze fell on the egg and the egg’s movement paused for a moment.
Rong Xingyu almost laughed out loud.
He held it in and continued "tricking the egg" together with Ding Yixin. "Our egg can do it too!"
