Transmigrated To A Beastworld As The Lazy Wife Of The Fox Lord-Chapter 57: More uninvited guests.
Sienna had the same reaction, just that she didn’t vocalize it like her husband. This much security, armed guards dressed in palace uniforms and a lion’s royal equaled only one thing: the royal family!
Elias stepped back, barking into his phone, "How the hell did they get into my city without a heads up?"
Sienna rolled her eyes as she watched the pair of figures emerging on the beach. Her husband seemed to forget the beast king was ranked above him. If he wanted to, he could go anywhere within the continent as he wanted.
The presence of the royal couple was so commanding that even the sea gulls stooped mid-squawk and turned away.
King Leon, broad-shouldered and smug, grinned at Sienna. "Well, well, Sienna. You look like you have lost a few pounds. I guess that queen bee wasn’t so easy to tame, huh! And now you’ve got a crowd of seafood refugees shedding feathers at your doorstep. Truly, you’re building quite the sanctuary."
Sienna groaned. "Good morning to you too, Your highness. I like coffee before sarcasm in the morning."
Queen Serenya gave her husband a sharp look. "Must you tease her? We came to see the queen bee, not to mock the Veythar’s and comment on their poor hospitality."
Sienna gasped. How was her hospitality poor? They had not told her they were coming, or else, she would have showered, blown out her hair and smelled of sugar and flowers instead of sweat! "We were not expecting you."
The king chuckled. "That is why it’s called a surprise visit, because its a surprise. And I am not mocking the human Serenya, I am admiring. It takes talent to juggle a cold, sly, fox lord husband, a bee monarch, and a family that smells like shrimp."
Sienna muttered, "If you admire me any more, I’ll start charging admission."
King Leon threw his head back and laughed.
Queen Serenya stepped forward, her eyes gleaming. "Sienna, my friend. I wish to see the queen bee in person. I have heard she is magnificent. One queen to another, we should shake hands and trade stories." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Sienna smiled stiffly. The last time she mentioned being on friendly terms with the lion queen, Serenya had not responded. She had not turned it down either, but she had not agreed. And now, she was talking as if they were not just friends but the closest friends in the world.
The queen tugged on her arm. "Come on, I am already impatient. I do hope that she will give me a ride on her back as well."
Sienna winced. "About that...she is not an early morning person. She will not be waking before 8, not for me and not for royals. She has a strict beauty sleep schedule. If you try to wake her early, she’ll sting you out of spite."
The king burst out laughing. "A bee with better boundaries than half of my court! I like her already."
Queen Serenya was all smiles as well. "A bee with a beauty sleep schedule! Now that is the funniest thing, if I have ever heard any." She sighed. "We shall wait, then. But I insist on breakfast while we do. Dazzle me with your cooking Sienna."
She marched ahead, followed by her army of royal attendants.
"Elias," King Leon bellowed. "Come, walk with me. I hear condolences are in order for your family."
Elias winced.
The Rocland’s lowered their heads even lower than before. It almost seemed like they wanted to be buried in the very sand where they were standing.
While Elias followed the king, Sienna turned to her relatives. She only had three cottages, there was no place to squeeze them. The thought of hosting them at the same time as the royals made her stomach churn. One problem at a time.
The words of the realtor that sold her the cottages crossed her mind. "Small house, small problems. Big house, big problems." She had chosen three whole cottages that were equal to a big house. Elias had added more, turning this place into a compound almost the same size as his estate.
It was a big compound, and she had big problems.
"What happens if the beast queen is stung and she dies?" A little girl asked.
Sienna murmured, "I hope we don’t find out." She looked at the guards. "Take them to one of the free cottages on the back property. Make sure they are fed. After the royals are gone, we will resume this re-union."
She barely bowed at the Rocland elders before jogging away. Three guards followed her and three gestured at the Rocland’s to start moving.
"So she is just sending us away while she dines with royals," a dissatisfied woman muttered. "Mother-in-law, this is our chance to turn things around. We can ask the king and queen to intervene in the expulsion. Sienna owes us this. Her father caused the mess after all."
Mrs. Rocland replied stiffly and coldly, "Numia, shut your mouth for me. Last week, we did not even know Sienna Miller was a Rocland. Paris never raised or provided for that child. What does she owe us?"
Still, Numia said, "But she is Paris’s blood. That is all that matters. The daughter should pay the father’s debt. Why should Christo and I suffer for his mess? We have nothing now. My son lost his fiance and his job. All of this must be compensated. I don’t care what you say, Paris’s daughter should pay."
"Aunt, please shut up." A teenage boy hissed.
Mr. Rocland glared at his son Christo, the youngest of his four children. Christo’s biggest flaws were meekness and marrying Numia, the loud mouth, arrogant daughter of an elder in their tribe.
He was worried that if Numia was not handled well, she would get them kicked out of the city by the fox lord. This was their only hope of settling down. Not many beast lords were welcoming of expelled beast men in their territories.
They had lucked out, because Sienna was married to Elias. If not, their residency would probably be denied. He would not allow his daughter-in-law to mess this opportunity up.
"Christo, it is time to put the matter of your divorce back on the table."
"What?" Numia screamed. "Divorce! Don’t even think about it. I am not going anywhere."
The guards flinched. One shook his head, eager to get back and share some gossip. Life at the beach was about to become more interesting. Between Lady Cadelaria and the Rocland’s, he had no idea which one would drive Lady Sienna crazier first.
