When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 162: That Late Student
Luna Axton looked toward the voice. The classmate who had called out to her was the academic officer, Peter Peterson.
Peter Peterson gathered the books on the desk in front of him, freeing up three empty seats, and invited her over with a smile.
She glanced at the last row, a dozen or so steps up, then decided to walk over to Peter Peterson.
Ignoring the sudden attention from the surrounding students, she calmly sat down and offered a faint smile. "Thank you, Academic Officer."
"No problem. I was originally saving these seats for my roommates, but they were afraid the professor would call on them, so they all ran to the back."
Luna Axton nodded in understanding and didn’t say anything more.
She took out her books to prepare for class when she suddenly felt an unfriendly gaze.
Turning her head, she met Blaze Fairchild’s eyes.
He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, watching her with a smirk.
The corner of his mouth was turned up in a roguish, unrestrained smile, just like the school bully who used to wait for people at the classroom door back in high school. ’Who is he trying to scare?’
Before she could mouth for him to leave, the professor walked in.
Luna Axton retracted her gaze, no longer looking in Blaze Fairchild’s direction, and focused all her attention on the lecture.
After entering, the professor first had the students open their textbooks to the Chapter he would be covering today. He then opened his laptop, plugged in a flash drive, and prepared to begin the lecture.
Once everything was ready, the professor suddenly shouted toward the doorway, "You there, student, are you not coming in?"
As soon as the professor spoke, the students, who had been diligently reviewing the material, all turned in unison to look at the door.
That was Miss Axton’s bodyguard!
Everyone knew who he was, but no one dared to speak up and explain, since the professor was the one who had made the mistake.
Luna Axton thought Blaze Fairchild would offer an explanation.
Who would have thought he’d just swagger into the classroom instead?
Blaze Fairchild’s question from that morning rang through Luna Axton’s mind: ’If I were to blend in with your classmates, would the professor find out?’
Her crystalline eyes darkened. ’Blaze Fairchild is doing this on purpose.’
The professor scanned the lecture hall, pointed to the empty seat beside Luna Axton, and urged Blaze Fairchild in a stern tone, "Go sit over there by Miss Axton."
Seeing that Blaze Fairchild was empty-handed, the professor added a displeased criticism, "And you didn’t even bring your textbook to class!"
Blaze Fairchild just smiled. "I’ll be more careful next time."
He happily sat down beside Luna Axton, looking for all the world like he’d gotten away with something and was now playing innocent.
Luna Axton’s expression darkened even more.
Whispers filled the classroom. "Miss Axton’s new bodyguard is so handsome!" "I know, right? It must be nice to marry a rich man!" "Do you dare go ask for his contact info?" "Rock, paper, scissors for it?"
"Ahem." The professor cleared his throat, interrupting the noisy classroom. "Class is starting!"
The moment the professor spoke, the lecture hall of over a hundred students fell completely silent.
"In our last class, we were discussing pharmacology..."
As the professor began his lecture, Luna Axton tried her best to ignore Blaze Fairchild’s presence beside her.
But just because she ignored him didn’t mean he wouldn’t bother her.
He took the pen from her hand, pulled her notebook away, and began taking notes with a surprisingly serious air.
Luna Axton’s cherry-pink lips pressed into a thin line.
Fortunately, Blaze Fairchild didn’t disturb her again, so she focused on the lecture, her mind following the professor’s train of thought.
The sunlight grew stronger, streaming through the large glass windows and casting a bright patch of light on her desk.
Pharmacology was a dry subject to begin with, and the professor’s lectures weren’t exactly lively. Aside from pharmacological effects, clinical applications, and contraindications, it was just a pile of research data and reports.
Seeing the dead silence in the classroom, with some students clearly having entered a daydreaming state, the professor decided to use a question to increase interaction and get their brains working.
"Regarding the relationship between depression medication and clinical psychological counseling, which student would like to share their opinion?"
The moment the professor asked, most of the students’ eyes cleared up, and they sat up ramrod straight, trying to show they had been listening attentively.
The pharmacology professor was extremely strict during class. If a student made even the slightest mistake when answering a question, he would criticize them with a stone-cold expression.
The students all knew the importance of pharmacology in clinical work, so they could understand the professor’s high expectations.
But no one wanted to be criticized by the professor in front of more than a hundred of their peers.
"If no one raises their hand, I’ll just have to call on someone." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Although the professor had a smile on his face as he spoke, it sent shivers down the students’ spines. They all lowered their heads, not daring to meet his gaze, terrified they would be the one he called on.
"The student who was late."
As the professor spoke, over a hundred hearts that had leaped into throats fell back into chests. More than two hundred worried gazes turned to the person who had entered the classroom after the professor.
’The professor is so strict. What will happen if Miss Axton’s bodyguard can’t answer?’
’Will the professor criticize his star student for not clarifying her bodyguard’s identity beforehand?’
’Will Miss Axton’s bodyguard get chewed out and thrown out of the classroom?’
’Will the rigid professor go complain to the guidance counselor and forbid Miss Axton from bringing a bodyguard onto campus in the future?’
In an instant, all sorts of scenarios flashed through the students’ minds.
Luna Axton saw the professor looking their way and knew that by "the student who was late," he meant Blaze Fairchild.
Only Blaze Fairchild had entered the classroom after the professor.
Now, she had to stand up and bear the consequences of Blaze Fairchild’s stubborn actions.
She placed her hand on her chair to keep it from retracting and making a loud noise as she stood up.
Suddenly, a weight settled on her shoulder, pressing her back down into her seat.
Blaze Fairchild was holding her shoulder down as he stood up.
"Regarding the relationship between depression medication and clinical psychological counseling, I’ve drawn some inspiration from various medical journals and literature. My personal opinion is that..."
As Luna Axton listened to the professional terminology and insights spilling from Blaze Fairchild’s mouth, her elegant brows furrowed deeper and deeper.
She also regularly read the papers Blaze Fairchild was mentioning.
It was something every medical student had to do.
Only by reading papers, journals, and magazines could one keep up with the most advanced research in the medical field.
But Blaze Fairchild had taken that input and transformed it into his own intellectual output.
’His brain, acting as that processing hub, is just too incredible.’
Blaze Fairchild spoke with eloquent confidence, and the professor, who wore thick-lensed glasses, even walked down from the three-foot-high lecture platform to stand before him, listening intently.
Listening to Blaze Fairchild’s points, he nodded from time to time, the faint smile on his face clearly indicating his immense satisfaction.
The more Blaze Fairchild spoke, the more students there were who couldn’t understand what he was saying.
’They recognized every word, but why couldn’t they understand the meaning when they were all put together?’
’Being Miss Axton’s bodyguard sure isn’t easy. You even have to study medical papers with her!’
After listening, the professor already knew that the answer given by the "student" before him was not something a fourth-year medical student could have produced.
He grew suspicious of the student’s identity. "Thank you for sharing. What is your name?"
"Professor, he’s Miss Axton’s bodyguard, not one of our classmates," the academic officer spoke up first.
Luna Axton also stood up and explained, "Professor, he’s my husband, not my bodyguard."
The professor’s classroom discipline was extremely strict; to ensure the quality of teaching, he never allowed auditors.
If she didn’t explain Blaze Fairchild’s identity now, the fact that she was bringing a bodyguard to school would only become known to more and more people.
She didn’t want to become famous again!
