Transmigrated To A Beastworld As The Lazy Wife Of The Fox Lord-Chapter 49: Elias owned half the bee!
The queen bee’s wings hummed like thunder, when landing time had come. Sienna chose the closest space to the flower garden near her cottage. The force of the wind create by the wings caused petals to rise and scatter. The shadow of the queen bee frightened servants who had long been expecting the arrival of the creature. Some dropped their tools in horror, while others raced to save the laundry hanging outside because Sienna insisted on clothes being sun dried!
The bee’s legs touched down with a tremor that rattled the cottages. Blossoms bent under its weight.
Mrs. Miller nearly had a heart attack when she saw who was sliding down from the bee’s back. She had been sleeping, and this resulted in her missing the live stream. Signs of sleep still clung to her eyes.
Sienna stretched her arms out to her daughter. "Come on little fox, we are home now."
Ali clung to the back of the bee. "Mama, again! Again! Let’s fly one more circle."
Sienna laughed, pulling her little one off and standing her on the ground. "Tomorrow, little one." She promised, while brushing her daughter’s hair back. "We will ride again tomorrow. Right now, she needs to eat and rest. Besides, we also need to think of a name for her. A queen deserves something majestic."
Ali’s eyes sparkled. "How about Ali Honey Thunder?"
Sienna laughed. "I think that is one-three many names. Hmm, her yellow is practically gold colored so what about Golden Queen? What do you think?"
Above them, the escalator of the flying ship was lowered and an angry determined Eli made his way towards them. His voice rose, shrill with injustice. His fists were clenched, face red. "Bad woman," he pointed at Sienna, "Why haven’t you offered me a ride? I want a turn."
Sienna;s smile froze. She turned away, deliberately ignoring him. The air thickened with tension.
The boy’s voice rose. "You don’t even want to talk to me anymore! You only care about her!"
Ali stuck her tongue tongue. "Because you’re mean, Eli, that’s why."
Eli’s cheeks puffed like steamed buns ready to explode. He kicked at the dirt, sending a pebble skittering toward the bee’s massive leg. The bee twitched, and the guards nearly fainted.
"Elijah Veythar!" Elias growled angrily.
The boy plopped to the ground and started to cry, throwing his legs out.
Sienna turned to the bee, patting her fuzzy thorax gently. "Sorry Ali Honey Thunder. He is a bad boy, just ignore him. How about you go and see where I am going to build your new hive?"
She led the bee away while Elias berated their son. In the grove of some ancient trees sitted on the property, servants and guards were already hacking at the trunk of a hive tree house. Its hollows were being widened with saws and chisels.
Sweat trickled down their backs as they discussed the newest resident on the property.
"We will be the only beast men on the continent living with a queen bee. How jealous are those who refused to move with lady Sienna?"
"Even the young master Eli has come. How long until someone else follows."
Another servant wiped his brow. "If Lady Cadelaria moves here, I am quitting. I have tasted freedom at the same salary and I am not going back to living under stuffy rules."
Sienna watched them working, while pondering on whether it was necessary to prepare some lemonade for them. After all, she had given them all this extra work which they never did before.
Elias joined her, one of his tails swaying lazily as he perused the trees which were at the edge of the property. Part of the grove belonged to him. "Sienna," he said, voice as smooth as wine, "you’ve outdone yourself. A queen bee of this size will make our territory the envy of the interstellar clans."
Sienna snorted. "Our territory!"
"Half of the grove is mine." He reminded her. "And I rescued you when she was trying to kill you. I bought you time to befriend her. I own half of that bee."
Her lips curved snidely, "Weren’t you calling my decision to hunt for bees a foolish one?"
He licked his lips. He had secretly tasted the honey which dripped from the combs the servants were extracting. He still thought it was a stupid decision, but, he liked the taste of the honey more.
Besides, different leaders of beast clans were already reaching put. They wanted to hold the annual Council of Beasts meeting here, at the beach, near Sienna’s property.
It was a summit where the leaders met with the king and negotiated alliances and settled some grievances. They also solicited for investments for different inventions their tribesmen had made.
They also discussed territory expansions and invasions and tribal integration of small tribes into bigger ones for protection.
As the wife of the fox lord, Sienna was expected to be there. Elias knew she would be more comfortable if it was near home.
He also knew that the queen bee was the only reason why the tribal leaders were making this suggestion. For now, he was undecided. The decision was Sienna’s to make. He would not allow her home to be invaded just so the fox tribe could score political points.
"So, are you still angry about my trip to the forest?" She asked. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
He clenched his jaw. "Of course I am angry. It is one thing to endanger yourself and another to drag Ali into it. What if I had not arrived in time?" Elias faced Sienna, raising his voice slightly.
The work on the hive house stopped. Servants and guards looked at them.
Elias grabbed Sienna’s hand and pulled her to the cottage, trampling on the blossoms Honey Thunder had spread. He did not let her go until they were closed inside hos bedroom in Sienna’s cottage.
For both of them, the memories of what happened in that room the last time they were there resurfaced.
