Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 230: An Ordinary Date [ 1 ]
I let out a chuckle.
"Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just out of energy, and it’s regenerating really slowly at the moment... Aside from that, the rest of my injuries will heal in a bit."
She quickly inspected my body, sighing in the process.
"You don’t look so good."
Clearly, my injuries, although they had healed a little, were still really severe. If anything, I was in critical condition, and by normal people’s means, I’d already be bleeding out to death.
But I wasn’t exactly normal.
"I’m fine. More importantly... It looks like we failed."
She paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Is the Emperor really dead?"
"No one can survive an attack like that. Had I known we would be dealing with someone from the Evangelists, then I might’ve been a little better prepared."
Then again, that area was likely surrounded by Evangelists. Escorting the Emperor would be impossible, and teleporting him away was very risky, but might’ve saved his life.
In the end, whatever we could’ve done, we didn’t do. Instead, we prioritized our own lives and got out of there.
Still...
"I never expected the Evangelists to make a deal with the demons. Since they did though, I’m sure there’s going to be a new wave of Evangelist Demon variants running around soon."
Meeting her gaze, I added.
"More importantly, they saw you use your Soul Weapons Gift. They also saw how you controlled beings, so now, you’re the most important person to them. They’ll stop at nothing to get ahold of you."
"I know. But I’m not planning on teaming up with them. I’m not really in the mood to become someone’s puppet, so we’ll just have to kill them all once we get a little stronger."
Yeah.
That’s the most simple way of looking at it.
It’s just that the more time that passes, the more I begin to realize that we literally don’t stand a chance.
Only if the Divine Beasts step in and help would we be able to do something. But... considering some Divine Beasts actually are against humanity, our odds are looking really slim.
Nonetheless, our conversation ended there as Clementine went ahead and pulled out some needles from her dimensional ring, then began pricking them all over my body.
It looked like she hit my nerves or something, since I felt my body relax and my pain vanish. For a brief moment, I thought that was all there was to her healing.
Yet once she opened her mouth and uttered a single note, I soon realized that wasn’t the case.
The note was low but transitioned into a high pitch. However, while it was in the low pitch, it vibrated the needles she had stuck inside of me, and because of their positions, she significantly enhanced the relaxation my body felt.
Not to mention, the injuries I had gotten were also abruptly healed. Only now did I realize just how overpowered of a healer she was, and odds were this isn’t even the full extent of what she could do.
If that was the case... then I could rest easy and get as injured as he wanted.
Letting out a chuckle, I just waited for her to heal me, and once she was finished, she propped me up against the boulder. After checking my body once again, she nodded.
"Energy should stop escaping your body now. As for your actual injuries, I don’t think I need to tend to them, since you regenerate so fast."
"Mmm~? Alright."
I kind of expected her to be a bit more eager to touch my body. But it seemed like I was a little arrogant.
Anyhow...
"Can you check on Morr too? It’s a little bit injured too."
She turned to Morr, then sighed.
"I can’t heal it. It doesn’t have an actual body to heal. All the injuries you see are just because of the lack of energy. Once your energy regenerates, Morr should regenerate as well."
Hearing that, I decided to just approach more and tap it over the head. In the next instant, it vanished, but feeling the connection deep inside my mind, I knew it was still there.
And finally, with me being able to walk again, and Clementine standing right beside me, we needed to address the elephant in the room.
"So what now?" she asked.
I paused for a moment.
"Now? Honestly... We need to go back to that continent and fetch Kevin and the others. There’s no way around it. As for the imperials and the other people... I guess I should also grab Evelyn?"
I wasn’t really sure whether she would come with me or not, because despite how innocent and weak she looked, she was extremely rich now because of the investment in Alicia’s alchemy shop.
Speaking of which, I couldn’t see Alicia anywhere during the final fight. For a moment, I thought she had actually joined the demons or something, but then I remembered that she had hundreds of potions stashed inside her dimensional ring for emergencies.
Some of those potions helped her teleport out of harm’s way, and while she could’ve given one to the Emperor... I’m not going to blame her for it, since I was also the idiot for not teleporting him out of there myself.
"I get that, but do we just sit back and wait until the demons descend?" Clementine asked, approaching me.
"I know you don’t like to be idle, but I also know that you don’t want there to be so many casualties... There’s still a month or two left until that tournament you mentioned, but seeing how everything’s been bumped up, I’m guessing the descent is going to happen sooner."
"It is. As for what we can do now... Well, I genuinely have no clue," I said.
Truth be told, the story opened up significantly after the demons descended, so I knew exactly what to do after that happened. But until then, I was a little lost.
"You know, why don’t we just go out on a date?"
