Chapter 41: End [V]

Elias stood up.

"Hm."

He turned, moving towards his sofa.

"Where are you going?" Kade muttered, red wisps of energy leaking from his body. "Are you getting scared?"

"Yes," Elias nodded. "I am getting scared, Kade Blunt... Anyway, I have a question. Should I ask?"

"Do it," Kade answered, trying to move. But difficulty was there, which made him unable to move.

He was healing, but at a very low speed. It would take some time for him to heal enough to be able to stand.

However, seeing Elias moving somewhere while questioning him, Kade saw the opportunity to exploit.

"It would be the last question you would be asking anyway. Because after this, I would be the one questioning, and you would be the one answering."

"Fair," Elias’s voice drifted in the air. "So, here’s the question.’

’How are you sure that I am not from the organization? Earlier, you were sure I was, that I am right. I know. But why a sudden change?"

Kade laughed.

’Fucking idiot.’

"There were so many inconsistencies. Due to being nervous, I couldn’t see them. But now I can."

"Oh!"

Elias exclaimed.

Kade didn’t stop; he continued. He needed to stall.

All the while speaking, his eyes were straining to look towards Elias. But he couldn’t; only the shadow of Elias lingered fadingly in his vision.

"There’s no way that someone big was going to come directly see me. At least—"

Kade shook his head.

"You think I would tell you. Haha, there’s no way I would speak a word."

’Just a few more moments.’

"Count the remaining seconds you have. I will show you how I felt. I will let you feel—"

Suddenly, Elias’s whimsical words cut through.

"Hm, this would do."

’What?!’

Kade’s voice came to a halt, his lips opening and closing. He suddenly felt strange. The gripping feeling around his heart was back.

It was the same feeling he had felt before meeting this young man. Why was it back?

Is he really from the organization?

Gulp

’No, I am just thinking. Yeah, it’s all in my head. I am still needed! I am sure all of it was nothing but a mistake that I made, thinking this kid was a low-wing member of the organization.

Yeah, he somehow knows about us. But all of it must be due to some traitor or something else.’

Kade tried to steady himself, but the next second, Elias reached near him. There was a smile on Elias’s face.

"You are thinking about stalling time, aren’t you?"

"You think—"

SWOOSH!

CRACK!

A wine bottle cracked down on Kade’s face. The glass shattered into jagged shards as blood splattered around.

"I am not that dumb, Kade."

SWOOSH!

CRACK!

The second bottle cracked, blood splattering as Kade’s vision darkened.

"Haa... haa..."

Kade dragged in a breath, taking in the air, as the glass embedded in his face burned against his skin.

"I know you would recover. And you think I would want information. Heh," Elias laughed. "Well, sorry to throw water on your wet dreams, but I don’t need information from you."

Elias’s hand shot forward. The black glove shone under the dangling chandelier’s light as Elias pulled Kade’s face in front of him by pulling on his blonde locks.

Kade saw the glowing hazel orbs staring at him.

Shivers.

He felt a shiver run down his spine. He knew that Elias was weak; this, he was sure of now. But yet, what was this feeling?

"You," Elias said, shaking Kade’s head. "You... are nothing more than a useless experiment. Don’t try to think that I am weaker than you."

Kade’s eyes widened.

"WHAT—"

SMASH!

Elias smashed his head against the floor.

But this didn’t stop Kade from bellowing. Kade’s caved face twisted into a grotesque shape as he screamed.

"—THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?"

Elias stood up, shaking his head.

"Tch, tch. You are really affecting me, you know."

"ANSWER ME!"

Kade bellowed. He tried his best to move his body, but he couldn’t.

Sharp pain bloomed as he gritted his teeth.

However, the amount of red energy now leaking from him started to grow thick.

"It’s time, I guess."

Elias muttered, not minding Kade’s state.

Taking a table, he dragged it towards the lying Kade. After doing it, he glanced at him.

Kade was screaming. His emotions had become a mess; the anger had trumped others, as the glow in his eyes had started to once more return.

’Do it.’

Elias steeled himself.

Taking a breath, he felt his heart thudding. His mouth felt dry as he gulped roughly.

Elias shifted his hands. Black gloves were present on both hands as he tightened his fingers around the legs of the table and raised it high in the air.

Kade, seeing this, suddenly stopped.

His mouth opened in another round of curses before Elias brought his hands down.

CRACK!

The table broke in splinters as its edges smashed against the cut-open chest of Kade. Following the sound of breaking wood and flying, another sound echoed.

The sound was almost impossible to hear, but it was there.

"Ha!"

SWOOSH!

CRACK!

Elias brought down the table once more. More wood flew, blood splattered, following which the sound echoed once more.

SWOOSH!

Once more.

CRACK!

The wood once more flew. The blood once more splattered. And the sound, once more, echoed.

"Ha!"

Elias kept going. He kept smashing the table against Kade’s chest. Blood splattered, the wood splintered, and the sound echoed.

After who knows how many minutes of this. The sound became distinct. It finally reached Elias’s ears.

KRRSH!

"Ha... huff..."

A smile tore through the sweat-dampened and blood-covered face of Elias.

He threw the table—which was now a plank of blood-dripping wood—aside.

"Mngh...!"

Not minding the state of Kade, he sat down, wobblingly.

Elias’s whole body hurt; his stomach churned. Every part of him screamed to get away from there. Take some time alone. Vomit, and leave everything.

But what he was doing was completely opposite to what was going on in his mind.

Wiping the blood, he glanced at the chest of Kade.

"I-ts... completely... ha... huff... visible now!"

Elias grinned. He looked like a bloodthirsty maniac.

"I should hurry."

He started to look around. His hands were shaking as he took a bottle of wine.

The bottle almost fell due to his shaky hands, but he caught it.

Breaking the upper part of the bottom and emptying the contents, Elias turned towards the lying Kade.

Kade’s body looked disturbing. His hands had still not healed. His face was still caved in with glass embedded.

And his chest was a nightmare to glance at.

The pristine cloth that he wore was now torn apart, dripping with blood. His chest was sliced open, with his ribcage caved in unnaturally.

His heart thudded, beating in a rhythm, as all his internal organs were visible with a weird red glow.

"Ha!"

’Slowly.’

Elais brought his hand forward, the broken wine bottle in his hand.

’Slowly.’

Elias positioned the bottle and started to drive it inside Kade’s open chest. His hands were steady now, his eyes focused.

"Mngh..."

Kade groaned, but he couldn’t do anything. His body was not responding, and darkness was creeping from the sides of his vision.

His senses were dulled, pain overwhelming him.

Why was all of this even happening to him? Why?

"Ha..."

Elias, however, was focused on his task. The wine bottle had now driven into the open chest of Kade.

"Tsk," he clicked his tongue. His jaw tightened. It was a struggle for him to take out the thing he wanted due to Kade’s heart being a hindrance.

’I can’t let this guy die.’

Elias didn’t know how the body worked apart from simple functions, so he wasn’t really keen on making a mistake and killing Kade. There was still some use left of him.

However, he also knew that the person lying before him was not going to die that easily.

’Being cautious wouldn’t hurt.’

Time stretched. Seconds dissolved into minutes as Elias continued to focus.

In between, he bashed Kade’s head from time to time to prevent him from recovering.

Tick tock.

The torture Elias made himself go through started to bear fruit.

Drip

His sweat dripped on his hand.

’Careful. Be careful. A few more minutes and I will be done with it.’

Elias took a wooden splinter from the side and applied optimum pressure as he at last got what he wanted.

A glowing red orb, which was present near the heart of Kade, was split from the muscles it was embedded in by Elias, gruellingly as he carefully put it in the wine bottle.

The orb was the source of the red wisps of energy that Kade’s body had leaked.

’Finally!’

"Mngh..."

The sound of a groan echoed, cutting through the excitement of Elias.

Keeping the wine glass aside, he glanced at the previous owner of the red orb.

Kade’s body was spasming and writhing.

’Don’t tell me.’ Elias felt a bad premonition. ’Is he going to die?!’

It would be a huge loss for Elias if Kade died. No, it would be detrimental, as all of the things that he had done would go into the water.

The main reason for his coming here would go to shit!
