Chapter 99: The Dominant Sovereign

It was strangely reminiscent of the area where Zylus was placed: a cabin, simple wooden modern housing. Beautiful layers of fresh smoky wood had Zylus believe he was truly back on Htrae. But it felt nothing like it; it almost felt too warm and comforting. An area that shouldn’t be alive was the same place Zylus was standing in.

A beautiful, cozy grey couch was placed just across a camfire on its side, with chairs around the front, and a dinner table on the edge. All carved magnificently in modern wood, one that you can’t find back on Htrae.

Victor placed his hand out, signifying where Zylus could take a seat.

"Right here, if you may," He said, "Just be careful on every step. Wouldn’t want anything to get worried now, would we?" His sneer left an uneasy feeling on Zylus’s skin, but he followed.

"You’re short," Zylus raised his posture, "A short sovereign, interesting. Are you ateenagerr or what? White spiky hair, and scales on your arms, are you a dragon?"

"Actually, I am," he spoke back, "I am indeed, a Greater Scale Beast Dragon, in my original form that is. If you would ratherhave me be in there."

Zylus believed it, he genuinely did, "Where are we, exactly?"

"The planet that I own?"

"You own?" Zylus wondered out loud, "So that’s why the windows have stars spiking just outside."

"You see, Zylus, in truth, there are several different planets."

"I see..."

"And each sovereign can own one. Or, they’ll own the world that they came out of, to become a sovereign."

"And which planet is this?" Zylus asked.

"It’s called Salem. Unlike yours, there are no Spirits, no Demons, but there are humans. And humans can use elemental magic."

Zylus got pinched by a thought of Jace that had flooded in his mind, ’The Human Elemental Academy’, which he attended. It felt similar, extrcuiatingly similar, the way they both spoke about it. Although one was aanallusion, and the other was the real deal.

"So, I guess that means Jace took the idea from you, didn’t he?"

Victor crackled, then leaned in, "Why would you say that?"

"It’s about illusions." Zylus added, "Jace needs to go by something realistic to make an illusion, and in no possible way is ’Elemental Affinities’ true in our society. So he had to have ddepictedit from someone else," Zylus played with his fingers, tapping on the wooden table low to the ground. He leaned in closely.

"Guess that means you helped him."

Victor responded with a chuckle, "And what if I did? A man wants some enjoyment once in a while, you know."

"I know this all too well, and that’s why I thank you."

"Why’s that?"

"It’s because-"

"Master!" The same maiden banged through the door with a metal plate and a set of alcoholic cans, as if Zylus was about to drink it. "I brought exactly what you asked of me!"

She placed it on the table between them, as Victor signaled towards her to come forward, and she listened very well.

"Please, bend over."

"Ye!" She began stretching her back over her, as Zylus simply glanced.

"Here you go Petricia." He called out, patting her head as he lied on a chair he sat on while Zylus sat on the chair right across, "This is your gift for today, now, you may leave."

As she started moving back, Zylus caught her arm, tapping on the seat beside him.

"Why doesn’t she join us for this convo?" He asked seriously, "She’s more than beautiful enough to be here."

The maid, also called Petricia, looked at Victor excitedly as he shut both his eyes, then opened his right one while leaving the left one closed.

"Sure, sure, just don’t be a bother." Victor flapped his arms up and down, as she began squishing through Zylus and the table, trying to sit on the couch he was on.

Zylus grinned, "What’s your name, beautiful?"

"M-me?" She nervously asked, "I’m Petricia Tesla, n-nice to m-meet you."

"No need to be nervous," Zylus took her hand, then leaning into the front knuckles, "Be calm."

He kissed her front hand, cutely, then looked up at Patricia’s face. She was blushing, a little bit too much, but did well to not show it, as she sat back down, right beside him.

’How dreamy,’ she thought, ’But my heart is for Victor!’

"Quite the man, ain’t ya?" Victor asked, leaning all the way back, staring into the ceiling.

"Here and there," He said, "This is how I accommodate people I’ve never met."

Victor stuck his hand out, flapping it back and forth, "Why don’t you do it to me?"

A sweat ran off Zylus’s forehead, "Because you don’t have big boobs."

Both of them laughed, very friendly, as if they had been used to this for quite a while.

"Uhh," Petricia whispered nervously, "Is this about me?"

Zylus and Victor looked at her, "No, no," Victor and Zylus looked at each other, "It’s about us."

"Okay!"

Petricia had a lustful body, a big chest, that matched with her lengthy lower area. She had beautiful brownish hair with slight Orange highlights in between, making it appear dirty blond. She had a maiden outfit on, but one unusual. A piece of armor at her top, which she took off,f and she was only wearing a blue crop top, making her cleavage apparent.

Petricia also had tight short blue jeans, making them stick out even more. And, her black and white shoes, nothing special, but clearly, Patricia was appreciative of everything she had. A very delighted woman, who seemed to fall in love with Victor.

She was a delight, even to Zylus, who now wondered about Emilia.

"When I came here-"

"Time’s moving slower, very slow, in your world. BBarelyany seconds go by as hours pass over here, so the girl you were with, yeah, she’ll be fine."

Zylus calmly let out a smile, "That’s relieving. Now, explain all of this."

Victor leaned in aggressively, "Time to talk." He whispered, "There exist twelve sovereigns who rule over their own independent world. Although the sovereign that owns your world, Htrae, had died not too long ago."

"Medrus?"

"It was him, good that you know," Victor whispered, "But he was incredibly weak, but the rest of you were stronger."

Zylus didn’t get mad; he was just listening, "So, in truth, there are thirteen?"

"Yes," Victor added, "Precisely that. Although there’s more to the case than meets the eye. You were apparently presented the incorrect SSovereignof your world."

"How do you become a sovereign?"

"You just have to contain strength unimaginable compared to your own society, which doesn’t mean much considered you’re in Htrae."

"Oh yeah?" Zylus wondered, "So then, why was Michael there?"

"They called you a mistake, Zylus, adding that only Michael was the correct one." Victor said, "But only I sensed it."

"I know what you’re getting at," Zylus caught on, "You sensed on my elemental oath, or magic, whatever you want to call it."

"I was wondering why I felt that flow through you when you live in Htrae, and they don’t involve themselves with that." Victor paused, "I’m aware of your systems, spirit blessings, and more, but not elemental magic, which exists within Htrae. Humans are normal, so how, how have you obtained BloodOath?"

It seemed as if Victor not only sensed Zylus having an elemental affinity, he guessed exactly which one, and was clearly correct.

Zylus grinned, "If you want answers, you have to earn them." He continued, "Tell me, what are these ’Blessings’ from Spirits.

Victor retaliated with a giggle, "I can kill you right now, you know that?"

Zylus let out a calm sigh, "You won’t."

"Why’s that?"

"It’s because you can’t afford to."

Petricia watched them, shaking at their every word. "U-umm g-guys," she stuttered, "I think we should stop, I s-suppose."

"No need," Victor said, "We’re just having a little fun."

’A little fun.’ Not even close, they were having ’a little’ too much fun. They were playing a game of breakdown, whichever one lost with words and facts, was the one clearly less dominant. And the dominant sovereign would never let this slide.

"Well," Zylus continued, clutching his fists and stretching his neck all around, "It’s kind of obvious, really. You want something out of me while hiding me from the others. So you have an ulterior motive, to whatever it is you’re currently wondering about."

Victor stopped smiling, returning to a normal facial expression, not normal for him.

"You’re good at reading people." He paused, "You may go ahead and ask now." Victor leaned in, now focusing his full attention on Zylus.

Zylus exhaled, then spoke commandingly, "How do you know which type of Sovereign will come out of Htrae?"

"We don’t," Victor answered, lifting his head, stretching his arms, "It just comes naturally. You can truly be the sovereign of anything, but once you reach Godhood, you can never go back to how you once were; none of that would be possible. You and that other kid can’t be the same sovereign, and only one of you can truly be the future strongest in your respective world, and I’m putting my trust in you, kid."
