Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 44: Final Goodbye...
Zylus now stood just inside Kash Mezino’s office, but it was only Clare, Medrus’s former secretary, who sat on Kash’s chair in front of him. They were only two occupying the office, and the only two who would follow through on this future mission.
"Glad you’re here, kid," Clare announced, preparing something on her system.
It was the next morning, and Zylus carried himself in a manner that reflected his changed self. Today was the day he would proceed to the Human Elemental Academy.
Something still lingered in Zylus’s head, because he hadn’t seen Jace since the day of bestowing a group upon the cadets. In Zylus’s case, his group was nothing more than mindless chickens searching for direction.
"Firstly, catch this." She tossed him a bracelet radiating advanced technology, "This is a rare relic bestowed upon us by none other than Medrus. It hides your Demonic presence, and removes your Demonic attribute as well..."
By Demonic attribute, she must mean my weapon.
"But, it gives you an elemental affinity, the one Spirits gave to the humans. We don’t know how they did it, but they did. Which means this relic is our only way to infiltrate their bases, keep hold of it, and don’t lose it at any cost. The elemental affinity will shape with you; it takes time." Clare said, her tone as serious as ever.
"No worries." Zylus saluted back, and a smile ran across his face.
[Item Activated: Ancient Elemental Change]
[Description: User becomes human, weilding a type of magic never bestowed upon the world... This is called [Elemental Magic]]
Demons were the first to find out about Elemental affinities, but what shocked them was that the Spirits possessed more knowledge on the matter than they did, including the fact that they had given countless humans ’Elemental Magic.’
Clare then continued, "Their goal is to maximize the human’s potential so that they can use them in the final war, which we already know is going to happen soon after Medrus- no, the Demon King’s death." She declared, "Be wary, that you might have to kill humans."
"They ruined my life, that’s no problem," Zylus whispered, calmly exhaling as wind seeped through from the open window.
"You have a new look in your eyes, kid," she said, "I like it. Now, let’s get moving."
"As you wish," Zylus added. His system began displaying a couple of messages.
[Item Received!]
[Teleport]
"I see, so the same as last time, I’ll guess," Zylus said, knowing this mission would be more dangerous than any.
[Transcendant Portal: Appearing]
[Location: Set to the Elemental Academy’s entrance]
[Preparing to Transcend]
"So Zylus," Clare whispered calmly, her gaze locked, "Your information has already been inputted onto the academy’s database. We have a human spy working for us, but we can’t tell you who just yet." She finished, preparing another add-on to Zylus’s updated system.
[Connecting with Clare Morgan...]
[User may now successfully chat with the recipient: Clare Morgan]
[User can hear Clare’s voice at any time, but Clare won’t be able to witness the user’s situation]
[Messages can also be sent through]
"Has your system displayed it yet?" Clare calmly asked, getting up from her seat.
"Yeah," Zylus responded.
"Here," She threw Zylus a small earbud, "Put that in your ear, to humans, it’s not visible, it’s connected through your system’s Bluetooth."
"So literally like a Iphone."
"Huh?"
"Nothing," Zylus quickly shut that thought, realizing only Medrus knew he lived in the human realm.
"Look behind you." Clare said, she smirked, "It’s time."
The same portal that appeared before, when he transcended into the human realm, appeared one more time.
"Backing down?" She asked, her glare intensified.
"You wish." Zylus responded, "I’ll go in then, if any more chat is as unnecessary as ours."
He started to walk towards the purple round transcendent portal...
"A teenager?" Clare wondered; he seemed like someone who had matured for many years. "What has this kid been through?" She whispered, walking back to Kash’s seat.
"Goodbye then." Zylus waved his right hand.
"Wait," Zylus paused in his tracks, hearing the protective intent in Clare’s voice, "Don’t die."
"I won’t," Zylus said, and he started to walk through, "I made a promise after all."

"Of course, an ability that brings about consequences," Zylus whispered, in an annoying tone, staring at what stood tall in front of him, the academy.
The academy stood in the middle of endless grasslands, isolated to the point where it felt intentionally removed from the rest of the world. There were no cities nearby, no clear roads leading toward it, but each path seemed brand new, as if the academy had never been here in the first place. The wind brushed against the open land freely, in perfect harmony.
"And that..." Zylus whispered, staring at the actual academy now.
At the center stood the academy itself, built wide rather than tall, its structure grounded firmly into the earth, the walls formed from pale stone.
To the right of the academy stood a massive colosseum, whose circular walls seemed brand new. Inside, it ran rows across rows of seats, where fans would be met with entertainment.
Between the academy and the colosseum, wide patches of grass had been pressed flat into rough paths. Old banners were planted along them, their fabric hung unnaturally despite the wind.
"Uhhh." Zylus clutched his chest as pain climbed onto him.
[Elemental Core Adjusting...]
[Completed!]
Zylus stood back up, "That was odd."
"Hey, idiot." A voice came from Zylus’s ear. "Hey, idiot!"
Zylus suddenly woke after zoning out into the magical structures built almost so elegantly.
"Oh yeah," Zylus pressed down on the earbud in his right ear, "It’s you, Clare."
"Yes, it’s me!" She yelled, "Hurry up! You’re going to be late for your first class!"
With that, Zylus sprinted, but without his system, he couldn’t sprint much more than a regular human. Those messages that were displayed were on his system, but now he’s unable to use the benefits that come from it.
He would have to face this challenge as a regular human. Not that Zylus hadn’t started as one in the first place...
"Going back to my roots, cool," Zylus whispered to himself. "Time to make an end to this."
