Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 41: Medrus Miro vs The Spirit King 3
"Let’s begin..." Both of them stated, as they started rushing each other, their grins widened, as if they had nothing on the line in this duel.
Bam!
Their first punches hit each other’s fists, and their second one did as well. Continuous punches kept being deflected by both of their fists, as if they weren’t receiving any pain from the damage that became apparent on their hands.
"Is that all?!" Medrus yelled.
"Of course not!" Liam responded as he ducked underneath the fist.
Bam!
The Spirit King landed a clean blow to the Demon King’s stomach, but Medrus fully tanked it, almost as if there wasn’t anything there.
Medrus lifted his leg. Liam’s fist had now been squeezed in between the Demon King’s hands. Medrus then stomped downward on the Spirit King’s arm.
Boom!
The Spirit King’s arm dropped to the floor, taking his body with it. Medrus stared downwards.
"Only physical capabilities?" Medrus paused, "I’ve been training them for longer than you think, and someone like you can never tank what I’m about to bestow."
His glare turned dark, but a dark that represented crimson amongst the deepest depths of hell.
"Nice job," Liam declared, "But don’t think you can beat me with that pathetic effort."
The Spirit King now started lifting his head upwards. Medrus’s foot was covered all over, but Liam carried himself like it was never there, as if there was no weight in the first place.
Medrus jumped backwards. He felt an attack coming from Liam that made him switch his position, dodging the potential punch stance that the Spirit King now turned towards.
"You dodged?" Liam curiously grimaced, "I see you’re better than I thought..." He said, straightening his position from the original bent-over stance he was in.
"Of course I did," Medrus proudly stated, "Who do you think I am-"
"I’m sorry," blood started to pour out of Medrus’s mouth, "But I don’t play fair if I’m not certain of victory." Liam Lionheart said, his back turned towards Medrus.
Coughs that represented constant bleeding had Medrus continuously aching in pain, but he still didn’t know where this sudden disadvantage came from.
"I came just in time." Medrus started to look behind him, "I have successfully retrieved what we’ve been longing for, to fight this war."
The man who stood behind Medrus, who delivered a hole instilled in the center of his body, was none other than the same person who betrayed ’Misfit Cadets.’
It was Michael, Michael Elric, the spirit. And slowly, he pierced the same blinding light dagger into Medrus’s body, showing no signs of regret or shame, even though it was supposed to be a one-versus-one.
"You coward!" Medrus yelled, coughing blood as he cried out, "It should’ve been just you!"
It was a shame, truly, the Demon King faltering to such a disturbing occurrence would have never been assumed of someone as great as he is.
"You know," The Spirit King paused, walking closer towards Medrus, "Technically, it is, because Michael comes from a part of me. You just didn’t follow up on the rules fully, because Michael is my son."
Medrus began falling onto the cracked floor, his glare now closed in darkness. He understood he was about to die, and this would be it for someone as great as he is.
"It’s truly a shame you followed your mother and not your father, Medrus," Liam took the blindingly lit dagger from Michael, "Because you come from the same cloth as us, half Demon, half Spirit. But you chose your wasted mother’s side, even after all we offered. Disgraceful." The Spirit King’s glared darkened, preparing to deliver the final blow on the breathlessly dying Medrus.
Even amongst all this, the Demon King grinned, "You think the war is over? No, someone is waiting for you, and I swear on my own demonic part! This war is not over until we win!" He coughed up blood four more times before his heart slowly began to stop pounding from the continuous bloodlust.
"Pathetic." Liam spat out the blood accumulated inside of him onto his side, "But until the end, who would’ve known if I would have won in a real fight?"
"Now what?" Michael asked his father, the Spirit King.
"Now we plan for the upcoming events, for where this shall all come to a close."
Both of them started walking under the moonlit night, leaving Medrus’s body to lie at rest...
It wasn’t that they didn’t feel threatened after the duel, but it was genuinely the complete opposite. They were now preparing for what was to come.
But suddenly, behind them, something shook their eyes, and it was a darkened presence. That came from Medrus, but when both of them looked back, his body was still flattened, like an empty vessel.
"I’m not done yet," Medrus whispered, inside his mind. "I need to tell him one more thing." He tried moving himself, but couldn’t, and it was now just him in his unconscious state. "Zylus... protect the Demon Realm."
He made a cry for help to the one man whom he thinks can now take his place, and it was none other than Zylus Elwis. That man was ready to prepare for the impossible, but he had every eye on him, every once in a while, relied on the Demon King, and now hoped to the nonexistent Demonic heavens that power may bless them with protection.
"That was nothing," a sweat came off of Michael in relief.
"No," Liam stopped him, "It definitely was, the man that he was, would never falter even amongst the worst possible scenarios. But now, it’s our time, just be cautious." He said nervously. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Yeah, yeah," Michael brushed it off, "You’re worrying for nothing, the rest are just weak." He put his hands behind his head, in an attempt to show his father that all of this was a walk in the park for someone with his status.
In truth, he was clearly playing on act, because now, Zylus’s mission was displayed.
He would now have to infiltrate the Human Elemental Academy.
