Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 136: The Realm’s Truth 2
[Time: 8:40 AM]
The next morning had arrived, and the alarming noise coming from the round clock beside Luca’s bed stretched into Zylus’s ears, eventually making him wake up.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
"I get it, I get it," Zylus whispered, scratching his eyes, "Turn it off."
Luca nodded while putting his academy fit on, "Alright then, hurry and get up," he said aggressively, "We only got like twenty more minutes, come on."
Zylus picked himself up from his bed, standing up, ’I already have my fit on, so that should be fine.’
"Zylus," Luca whispered, distinctively, "Since when do you sleep in the same clothes as your academy uniform? I mean, I guess it’s better since you don’t need to waste time getting up earlyin the morning. Though" Luca flapped his hand back and forth, "It’s really disgusting, you know?"
"Relax," Zylus got up, walking towards the sink, to drink some water, so he can feel more alive, "I know, just did today because I felt tired."
"If you say so," Luca responded as Zylus took a large sip of water from the fountain, "Anyways, let’s start heading, the day is awaiting."
"Of course," Zylus used the same cup he drank from during the middle of the night, slapping it back on the countertop, "The awakening ceremony. Let’s head."
Both nodded, while Luca unlocked the door from the inside and opened it wide, "Ladies first." He said, jokingly.
Zylus looked at him, laughing slightly, "I guess that means you should go through, doesn’t it?"
"Retaliating?" Luca questioningly asked, "I’ll even skip our awakening ceremony if it means me going in first." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
’So childish,’ Zylus thought, "Alright."
He walked through maturely, while Luca smirked, as he had won already.
They were now outside, dorms on their left and right, males already far ahead, walking towards the academy grounds, which were just about a five-minute walk. The weather wasn’t bad, with a nice breeze and a slightly hot sun whispering above.
It just felt all too natural to Zylus, how perfect the weather felt. In a way, it could’ve meant that this realm was real, and not an illusion created by Lamia, but it also could have meant the exact opposite.
And Zylus, at this point, didn’t know what to really believe.

As both Luca and Zylus walked from afar, taking a right turn into the pathway, which was followed by some other academy students, they began talking to one another.
"What do you think you’ll awaken? Which class and skill?" Luca asked, walking slightly ahead.
"Me..." Zylus paused on the thought of what a ’class’ or ’skill’ even is. "I don’t like taking assumptions, so I guess it’ll be whatever is granted, and I’ll take whatever."
"You’re much less picky than me," Luca added, continuing to walk, "I need to awaken at least A. I need to, it’s not a question, it’s a must."
"That badly?" Zylus questioned, curious about the reason.
"Of course, I’ve just been too weak to do anything all along. Remember when we were kids, and you used to step in for me that entire time during the period where we used to get bullied every day during pre-school to elementary, including the early years of high school? Yeah, I’ll pay you back soon, Zylus, as soon as I awaken, trust me."
A confident expression left Luca’s face, one that spoke more of wisdom than playfulness for once.
"I see," Zylus whispered, "But what if reality hits you hard and you don’t awaken anything?" He asked, not expecting an immediate answer, of course.
As both of them continued to walk forward, the tension rose after that uncertain question hit Luca in the chest.
’What will I do?’ The eighteen-year-old thought, not really having a plan B.
He had just hoped all great things would come to fruition for him because of the weakness he felt all this time before this upcoming awakening ceremony. Prior to humans awakening anything, they’re just regular individuals, so only physical aspects would really differentiate between the two individuals.
While Luca was a scrawny young boy, there were others with a much more chizzled and better look than his own. This is why he had his girl taken from him that one time, disrespectfully, from none other than Lucas Astorious, the so-called ’talent killer.’
The inevitability of how weak he truly was to retaliate really dawned on him, just how pathetic and empty he was in the face of true strength.
Luca just stood there, watching one of the Magacies simply snatch away his long-term crush like it was nothing. By the time he got to talk to her again, it was like her thought process completely changed.
She didn’t care whatsoever about Luca anymore; all she cared about was going back to Lucas, who was already cuddled with multiple other women by this time.
And that’s when Luca’s mind truly awakened, about three months ago now, just how much strength defines this world.
He needed a powerful necromancer class and skill; he just had to get one. While you can get a high class, the skill doesn’t always define that same rank. Ranks are individual, but what you can do is boost a skill, though some skills can be ultimately weak.
Every necromancer can awaken the undead, though one thing was for certain. A necromancer’s skill can ultimately just be a healing ability, even if Luca managed to be placed at S-Rank.
Luca stopped for a second, Zylus continued to move forward, then paused, noticing how Luca remained in one position, eyes closed.
He smiled gently, "I’d rather not think about a ’Plan-B.’"
In that particular moment, it finally crushed him, how he might actually get nothing good, and that might truly be his new reality.
But it was a reality he didn’t want to accept.
