Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 60: Who’s Worried About You
Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Who’s Worried About You
After rummaging for a while, Aurelia Shaw finally found the document titled "Development Zone Competition Proposal" among the pile of incomprehensible materials, pulled it out, and handed it to Mason Nightshade.
Mason Nightshade’s hands moved over the keyboard, but he didn’t take it, nor did he glance at it, "Read it out for me."
Three dark lines fell down Aurelia Shaw’s forehead.
Did this man consider her free labor?
Just as she was about to refuse, the sound of the keyboard suddenly stopped. Mason Nightshade looked up at her, his brows slightly raised, his gaze provocatively fixed on her as he asked, "Can’t understand it? Or can’t read?"
Aurelia Shaw clenched her fists, and the words of refusal were forcibly swallowed back. She took out the document, and as Mason Nightshade mentioned a section, she quickly found it and read it aloud. Her voice was melodious and pleasant, neither hurried nor impatient, giving a sense that it could even calm an irritable mood.
At first, when Aurelia Shaw encountered specialized terms she didn’t understand, she would feel puzzled. Mason Nightshade patiently explained them to her. To his surprise, Aurelia Shaw’s learning ability was incredibly quick; she remembered things after just one explanation and was even able to extrapolate and apply them flexibly.
He raised his eyebrow, watching Aurelia Shaw with her head down, flipping through the materials. Suddenly, he felt that his little wife wasn’t as dim-witted as he had imagined.
"Why are you looking at me?" Aurelia Shaw looked up, raising an eyebrow at Mason Nightshade.
Mason Nightshade snorted lightly, "Self-indulgent, sales situation of the Jianghuai City branch."
——
The car drove all the way into the Shaw Family courtyard. The servants, hearing the horn sound, quickly ran out to greet them. Ignatius Yates opened the back seat door, and Mason Nightshade was the first to get out of the car. But instead of entering the house, he bent down, leaned into the car, and extended his hands to carry Aurelia Shaw out. "Come here."
Aurelia Shaw glanced lightly at his arm, her gaze falling on the sleeve of his right hand. She was slightly stunned. The cuff of the white shirt was stained with a few drops of blood, recalling that he had used his arm to block the glass earlier—had his wound reopened then? Yet, this man hadn’t even let out a sound and had been typing all the way, how much endurance did he really have?
"No need, I can manage on my..."
Before Aurelia Shaw could finish her words, Mason Nightshade had already extended his hand to lift her out. As if knowing what she was worried about, he leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don’t worry, this minor injury is nothing to me, no need to worry about me."
Aurelia Shaw coolly raised her eyebrow, "Who was worried about you?"
"Alright, you weren’t worried," Mason Nightshade smiled lightly, not arguing with her, as if he had seen through her thoughts.
Coming out of the villa were Clara Philips and Jovana Shaw, and they happened to witness this scene.
The two of them paused, exchanged a glance, with a vicious look flashing in their eyes.
Clara Philips was the first to regain her composure, her mouth curling into a motherly gentle smile, as she walked over, "Mason Nightshade, you’re back. Hurry inside, the master has been anxious, repeatedly urging the butler to call you."
Clara Philips’ voice came through, and Aurelia Shaw raised her brows, a wave of nausea rising in her stomach. Noticing the two people walking toward her, two intense gazes fell on her, and Aurelia Shaw slowly curved her lips, unexpectedly settling down.
Mason Nightshade lowered his head, glanced at her, pretending not to notice the fleeting mischief in her eyes, his lips secretly curling into a doting smile as he stretched his long legs and walked into the villa.
"Sister and brother-in-law have such a good relationship," Jovana Shaw followed beside them, saying enviously, her eyes filled with admiration as she looked at the reserved and noble man. Which woman wouldn’t be moved by him? Wouldn’t fall in love with him?
