To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 94: What do I owe this privileged visit?
Chapter 94 - What do I owe this privileged visit?
Kang-woo was so lost in the music that even after Chin-hwa had closed the door and was standing right behind him listening to him play with a heavy heart, he still hadn't noticed anything.
The musical notes in front of his eyes were just for show, as he already knew what came next even without looking at them.
So, he drowned.
Chin-hwa watched his hand movements from behind, and then his eyes fell on the back of his neck, which was sweaty and glistening.
Just how long had he been there? How long had he been playing such a sad note?
Thanks to his sweat, the music room was filled with his pheromones. It lingered in the air but it wasn't harsh. It was something Chin-hwa could put up with.
Kang-woo's back looked heavy like he had a heavy weight on his shoulder. His neck was sweaty because of the tension in his heart, and that same tension was coursing through his entire body. And then there was his breathing... It was as if he was holding his breath, keeping secrets that could very much ruin his life.
And then Chin-Hwa thought if he had been the one misunderstanding Kang-woo all along and Kang-woo really did do all that, keeping the reason for his sudden departure a secret, because he feared for the worse for him, then just how much was Kang-woo enduring?
Just how much was his heart hurting that he played the keys so painfully?
In this situation, it felt like the one who was hurt the most was Kang-woo.
Subconsciously, he was getting closer, his face twisting in agony as tears filled his eyes, reaching his hand out to catch the glimmer in front of him.
If Kang-woo had been the one suffering more all along then his little problem of feeling abandoned and never being able to confess was just a spec of his pain, wasn't it?
But why was he doing this? Was it because he was his best friend or... Was there something else that he didn't know?
'Kang-woo, what are your feelings towards me?' he wondered, and then his fingertip touched Kang-woo's neck, causing him to stop.
Kang-woo was stunned by the sudden contact at the back of his neck, so his hands naturally stopped playing, but funny enough, he did not turn his head around.
He sat there, finally releasing the breath he had been holding all along and panting. He was sweating so badly that one would think they were in the middle of July.
Chin-hwa did not take back his finger, even though he had made Kang-woo stop. He bit his bottom lip and wished he could continue, but this time, play something brighter.
The pain screaming from the keyboard was just too hard to listen to.
And as if Kang-woo had seen his face and heard his thoughts, he began to play again. But this time, he played something different.
It was light. The note was lighter and a bit heartwarming.
Kang-woo, without looking back, could tell that the only person who would try to touch his neck without a word to announce his presence was Chin-hwa.
He could be wrong. It could be his mother feeling sorry for him but he had more faith in his intuition than what reality usually brought forth and his faith... He glanced over his shoulder and locked eyes with Chin-hwa... Had never failed him.
He ended this light piece and then went silent. Only the sound of his breathing could be heard in that silent room filled with different musical instruments.
"Byul," Chin-hwa called softly and Kang-woo caught his hand that was still pressed to the back of his neck and brought it to his lips, kissing it gently.
"Yes, Hwa?" He answered, opening his eyes to gaze daringly at Chin-hwa, and this action got him flushing.

He looked away, barely covering his face with his arm, and said,
"Don't... Don't do that." He gushed. "I touched your neck and it was sweaty and..." He was only making excuses.
In reality, he wanted to ask, 'What are your feelings towards me?' but his words wouldn't come out properly and his voice was dull.
He was embarrassed. Did he even have the right to ask that now that he had pushed him to be with Yun-Tae?
"What do I owe this privileged visit?" Kang-woo asked, refusing to let go and even went as far as interlocking their fingers together.
Chin-hwa honestly couldn't tell what had gotten into Kang-woo. Did he have a personality disorder or something?
"Kang-woo," Chin-hwa called and asked with his expression turning firm. "Am I the reason for your pain?"
Kang-woo went silent. He stared at Chin-hwa's firm expression and wondered what was occupying the mind of this cute Omega in front of him.
"No," he answered. "The one causing me pain is myself." He slowly lowered his head. "My stubbornness, my unwillingness to accept the present and... My greed. All these things cause me pain beyond measure."
"Wait, I don't understand. When did you become a greedy person?" He asked but Kang-woo could not find an answer to that, and instead raised his head and smiled.
"Humans are greedy by nature." He said and quickly changed the topic. "So, what brought you here?"
Chin-hwa went silent. He had so bluntly changed the topic. Just why was he doing this?
"I wanted us to hang out." He said, folding his arms, and Kang-woo's eyes lit up. The both of them? "Me, you and Yun-tae." He added and that light fell from Kang-woo's eyes.
Of course, Yun-tae was around.
But it wasn't all that bad. If Chin-hwa was proposing they hang out together then it was such a great news.
Chin-hwa stared at his smiling face. He looked okay now but nothing could wash away the painful notes his ears had listened to.
He clutched the folds of his coat in his folded arm position and silently gritted his teeth.
He couldn't stop himself from feeling like he was the one causing Kang-woo pain, even though he said otherwise.
He watched Kang-woo stand to his feet, close the keyboard keys, and then clean his hands with the napkin beside him.
"Anyway, how did you know it was me?" Chin-hwa asked. "I didn't secret any pheromones and your pheromones are all over the place too."
"Well, I have faith in what I feel." Kang-woo simply said and led him out. "I'll go take a shower, so wait for me downstairs."
"Then, hurry up a bit." Chin-hwa said. "And um," he hesitated a bit. "...try to wear an ash coat." He added before walking away.
