To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 187: I feel fine
They had originally planned to get the kids married if it turned out that Chin-hwa was pregnant, but Woo-bin raised an objection, saying Chin-hwa was too young to be a mother.
Plus, he still had his whole life ahead of him, so would he give it up to get married and have a child?
Of course, getting married and having a child didn’t mean one’s life was over, but Woo-bin exaggerated it a lot.
He made it clear that Chin-hwa was young and his body wouldn’t be able to handle it.
There was no way he would risk Hwa’s life over a child he could get in the future.
Even if they took precautions, the plans for the marriage were still underway because Baek-Hyun strictly said that the choice was Chin-hwa’s alone.
And it was what he decided that they would do. And he would not allow any influence to change Chin-hwa’s mind, so Woo-bin should take a breather and stop antagonizing the situation.
This happened before the Christmas party, and it was because of this that Woo-bin tried his best to stop Chin-hwa from going to Kang-woo that night.
Kang-woo was supposed to use protection no matter what, so the risk of Chin-hwa getting pregnant would be reduced, but that plan failed.
So, they were waiting to see if the after pills accomplished the task.
(I don’t think it did.)
A few days after the visit home, Chin-hwa woke up with the urge to throw up.
He rushed to he bathroom and threw up in the sink.
"Hwa, are you okay?" Kang-woo asked as he followed him.
Chin-hwa turned on the two and began to rinse his mouth.
"I suddenly felt like throwing up," he said. "I guess eating too much sweets has finally caught up to me." He smiled awkwardly, but Kang-woo gulped, feeling it wasn’t that simple.
Before they returned to his house, Hae-won had asked him to keep a close eye on Chin-hwa. If Chin-hwa suddenly started throwing up, he shouldn’t hesitate to take him to the hospital for a pregnancy test.
He was shocked to hear that, but Hae-won gave him strict instructions to do it quietly and not let Woo-bin or even him know about the results if they turned out positive.
The first person he contacts should be Baek-Hyun.
"I feel fine after getting that out of me," Chin-hwa said and picked up his toothbrush.
"Hwa, do you think you’re fine?" Kang-woo asked, and Chin-hwa turned to him.
"I feel fine, though."
"Even after you just threw up?"
Chin-hwa paused and then shook his head.
"I’m sure it’s nothing." He said, but Kang-woo still looked worried. "Don’t worry too much. I think it’s a one-time thing. If it persists, then we’ll go to the hospital like you said,"
"Alright."
But it did not stop as Chin-hwa wanted.
His appetite changed drastically, and he couldn’t eat much without feeling the urge to throw up.
The only things he didn’t throw up were juice boxes and fruits. He wasn’t ever able to eat any normal food above three bites without throwing up.
Chin-hwa kept dismissing the idea of going to the hospital until he nearly collapsed down the stairs one day.
Kang-woo just so happened to be walking behind him, and as he lost consciousness, Kang-woo stretched his arms and caught him.
"Hwa?" He called, but there was no response.
The color left his face immediately as fear got a grip on his heart.
He rushed to take Chin-hwa to the hospital. Worry and fear spoke through the expressions on his face as he tried to drive as fast as possible but also safely. It would be bad if they were to get into an accident in that situation.
He finally got to the hospital, carrying Chin-hwa in his arms as he yelled out,
"I need a doctor," The nurses and the people in the hospital turned to him, wondering what issue had brought yet another patient into the building.
Two nurses rushed to him with a stretcher and said,
"Put him down here," Kang-woo did so, but this did not ease him down one bit. He was sweating profusely, his eyes unsteady, and his throat dry.
"What happened to him?" The other asked as they rolled Chin-hwa towards the wards.
"I don’t know. I mean, he was fine this morning, but he suddenly collapsed while we were walking up the stairs, and he wouldn’t wake up."
"Did he fall down the stairs then?"
"No, no, I caught him." Kang-woo answered. I..." He was so stressed with worry and anxiety that his eyes threatened to open a dam soon. "I don’t know what to do, please help him."
"It’s alright. The doctor will be here shortly," The nurses said, but Kang-woo was on his toes.
It was as if his heart was hanging by a thin thread. Why did Chin-hwa suddenly collapse?
Who should he call?
No, he shouldn’t call anyone just yet. He had to make sure Chin-hwa was okay first so as not to worry others unnecessarily.
He stared at Chin-hwa’s unconscious appearance and bit his lip.
They should’ve gone to the hospital sooner. He took this matter too lightly.
The doctor finally came and checked Chin-hwa’s pulse, as well as his heartbeat.
After checking everything, he said,
"There’s nothing to worry about." Though he said these simple words, Kang-woo could not understand them.
"What do you mean there’s nothing to worry about?" He asked. "He suddenly feels unconscious,"
"Well, I know it’s a rather unsettling incident, but I assure you, he only fainted from exhaustion." The doctor said. "Since he’s pregnant, the baby seems to be taking a lot out of him and he’s lacking nutrients, so--"
"W-wait, doctor, hold on. Did you just say...? Did you just say he’s pregnant?" Kang-woo asked, his eyes widened in shock, and the doctor nodded.
"Yes, he’s two months pregnant." He said, wondering how Kang-woo did not know. "I assumed you knew since you were so worried, but I guess not. It’s also understandable since he’s lacking the Pheromones of his partner, which is important in the well-being and growth of both the mother and the baby."
He put down his stethoscope and said,
"After getting discharged, I’d advise you have more frequent intercourse or, rather, periodically supply your partner with pheromones. If you do that, then he won’t end up fainting out of the blue. Excuse me."
Kang-woo heard these words, but he was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that Chin-hwa was pregnant.
It made sense when he thought about the cravings and the morning sickness, but he never actually thought... Ah, and it was with his child, too.
He didn’t know whether to be worried, scared, or happy at this situation. He was so confused.
What should he do?
