To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 158: What’s the harm in that?
A few minutes before dinner was ready, He-Nari decided to leave the kitchen. He was helping out but got all sweaty, even though it was winter.
"You can go wash up upstairs, it’s fine." Hae-won said to him and he nodded.
Instead of going to the guest room he’d usually use, he went to Deok-ryu’s room. Not for any reason in particular. He just liked the scent of Deok-ryu’s shampoo and body wash.
Yeah, he was badly infatuated with Deok-ryu but he had his pride. And yet, he had sent out several hints for Deok-ryu to take, but he was such a dumb guy when it came to love from the other gender.
Even Si-woo had noticed it and it was after she noticed it that she gave up her own infatuation with He-Nari. They had all together, so it was only natural that they would grow feelings of some sort.
However, not all friendships from childhood carry feelings. Like Deok-ryu, for example, he had no such feelings for He-Nari and simply considered him his best friend.
So, he had no idea He-Nari saw him that way and had set a lot of love traps in other to get him, but because his mind would never wander that the cold and classy He-Nari was trying to get him to notice his feelings.
(Gosh. Everyone has such complicated love lives. Now, let’s go to how things ended up like this, shall we?)
He-Nari used Deok-ryu’s room and was still in the shower when Deok-ryu came back.
He had no idea Nari was in his room and decided to take a shower before dinner was ready.
He took off his clothes, but by the time he opened the door, he found Nari, who was just about to open the door to get out.
They were both shocked, but what was more shocking was He-Nari, who quickly looked down to take a look at Deok-ryu’s dick, his face flushing in surprise afterward.
As soon as Deok-ryu noticed this, he quickly turned around and rushed back inside the room to get something and cover up.
"Christ, Nari, what the hell are you doing in my shower?" He asked, frantically wearing his pants. "And why the hell did you look down at my dick?"
"What’s the harm in that?" Nari asked, walking out of the bathroom in a relaxed manner and cleaning his hair with a towel, disregarding the rest of his body that was naked. "You can look at mine if it makes you feel better."
"No, I won’t look. Just... Put on some pants, okay?" Deok-ryu said, abiding by his principles and not looking at Nari.
He backed Nari, shoving his fingers through his shrub and his other hand on his waist.
"Why didn’t you use the guest room or Si-Si’s room like you always did?" He asked. "Do you know how shocked I was to suddenly find you there?"
He-Nari ignored him and simply put on his briefs before his pants.
"If you wanted to use my bathroom, you could’ve at least said something." He said not his words only got Nari angry.
"What? Is it because you can’t bear to look at me?" Nari asked.
"What??"
"You didn’t even look at my body even when shocked like that but you’re acting like you’ve committed a grave sin. What’s up with that?"
"What are you talking about, Nari? You’re an Omega, I can’t afford to look at your body." He said, still not looking back. "It would be disrespectful to you and I don’t want you to misunderstand anything."
"I’m pretty sure you should be the one misunderstanding by now." Nari said. "As soon as I saw you naked, I quickly looked down there. What do you think that implied?"
"Instincts?" Deok-ryu shrugged. "I don’t know. Your train of thought isn’t exactly normal, to begin with."
Nari got mad. What the hell was he saying? How many times did he need to play out his intentions for him to see he was into him? It was as if the harder he tried, the harder Deok-ryu pushed him away.
"Oh really? Then is this also thanks to instincts?" He dropped his hand on Deok-ryu’s shoulder, turning him around, cupping his face in his palms, and then kissing him.
Deok-ryu’s eyes widened.
What the... What was he doing?
He wanted to push Nari away but Nari held on tight. He released one of his hands and caught Deok-ryu’s hand, dropping it on his waist.
If he wasn’t going to hold him voluntarily then he would force it on him again.
"Wait, Nari. What are you doing?"
"Playing volleyball." Nari answered in spite and kissed him again.
Just what did he think he was doing? He was kissing him and yet he was asking what he was doing.
Could this idiot be any more insufferable?
He was very smart when it came to Chin-Hwa, but aside from that, any other form of feeling was foreign to him.
’Do I have to carve it in his heart for him to understand it?’
Deok-ryu was confused.
He just came up to take a bath so what was with this sudden rush of adrenaline flowing in his blood from a kiss?
He-Nari was also acting weird and doing things he wouldn’t normally do.
’I don’t smell any smoke or alcohol so he’s not drunk, then why is he doing this? Did Si-Si put him up to this?’
"Did that feel like something done with ’instinct’?" He-Nari asked, wiping his mouth and Deok-ryu stared deeply at him.
"Nari, what are you doing?" he asked, ticking Nari off again but he realized it and quickly changed his question. "I mean, why are you doing this?"
"I’d like to ask you the same question," Nari clicked his tongue. "Are you an idiot or are you just doing this on purpose? I’ve done so many things, so many, and still, you’ve never taken the hint. It’s as if I’m throwing all my efforts at the wall. It’s frustrating."
Deok-ryu was still confused. What was he talking about?
"Hah, do you still not get it?" Nari asked in disbelief but the puzzled look on Deok-ryu’s face made him realize he was being sincere. "You’re not faking it,"
"If you’re referring to how oblivious I am then yeah, I’m not faking it. Can you at least explain what’s going on?" He asked. "You kissed me like that and..." He looked at his hand that was still on his waist. "...Nari," he shifted his gaze back to Nari’s face, seeing him bite his lip in rage. "...do you like me in ’that’ way?"
He-Nari paused. Ah, so he wasn’t a total idiot.
"So, it only took a kiss for you to figure it out." Nari said and shifted her gaze to the ground, sighing in regret. "I should’ve tried that from the start."
"Wait, wait, you’re serious?" Deok-ryu asked, his eyes widened as he realized it was true. "You like like me?"
"Moron, no one says it like that anymore." Nari sighed. "Do you know why I had to go about a roundabout method to confess my feelings to you when I could’ve said it to you straight up? It’s because you never believed it."
"What?"
"I can count on both fingers how many times I’ve confessed that I like you... A lot. But you keep interpreting it in the way that you understand best." Nari would’ve grabbed his collar if he were wearing a shirt, but since he was shirtless, he simply grabbed his shoulder and said, "I don’t like you just as a friend, Ryu-Ryu; I like you as a person. An Alpha. I want to be your mate. That’s the kind of feeling I have for you, so get it straight and stop pushing me away."
Deok-ryu was confused.
"I... Can’t believe that." Deok-ryu said and He-Nari felt his blood pressure rising.
Just how long was Deok-ryu going to push him away?
"Why?" Nari asked, gritting his teeth and clenching Deok-ryu’s shoulder. "Why can’t you believe it? I’m telling you by myself, with my own mouth. So why the hell are you still doubting me?"
"It’s because..." Deok-ryu clenched his fist and admitted it. "...if you really liked me that way then you would’ve let me help you take care of your heat instead of Si-Si." He stared into Nari’s eyes with a serious gaze and said, "You didn’t hesitate to turn me down when I said I’d help you. Isn’t someone who you wish to be your mate the one you desire to spend your heat with? And yet you rejected me. So, how can I believe you now?"
He-Nari heard this and looked away. It looked like he was thinking, but then an irk formed on his forehead, and he hit Deok-ryu in the head.
"That’s because you would only get one more reason, and a valid one at that, to dismiss my feelings, you idiot!" He flared at him. "It was obvious that you would start spewing nonsense about me being driven by the feelings of satisfaction from the time you helped me in my heat and I may never get the chance to convince you anymore. It was all your fault from the get-go!"
