To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 155: Maybe my Hyung or your Hyung
"I can’t believe this," Woo-bin exclaimed as he entered the car and shut the door. "Why is this happening?"
Baek-Hyun also got inside the car and put on his seatbelt.
"I mean, they’re just kids." Woo-bin heaved. "And the doctor could not even find a solid reason why Kang-woo is going into a rut so soon either. He just said it had to do with his emotional stability. Was that how it worked? I just don’t understand anymore."
"Calm down," Baek-Hyun said. "You’re scaring Hwa with an issue that’s not even that big."
"Not even that big?" Woo-bin repeated in disbelief. "Your son is about to get his first heat, and he’s only 21, yet you say it’s not even that big? How in the world is that not a big issue?" He flared, and one could practically see flames coming from his mouth.
"Well, we have to face it. He might be our child but he’s not a child." Baek-Hyun said and rested on the wheels, staring at the two in front of them.
Chin-hwa had asked them to give them a moment so they headed to the car first while he stood a little distance away to talk to Kang-woo.
"So, was that not the first time?" He asked Kang-woo. "The time we went that far and I started burning up. Was that one the first time you performed a pheromone shower?"
"No," Kang-woo answered. "But the other times, I had no idea you were reacting like that due to a heat cycle. I just... Wanted to calm you down."
There were different times when Chin-hwa seemed to have been affected by his harsh and raging pheromones, and since it was his fault, he did his best to fix it by releasing a soft, gentle pheromone to calm him down.
He just didn’t know his abrupt reactions were thanks to his incoming heat.
"Thank you," Chin-hwa said and hugged him wrapping his arms around his back. "Maybe if you hadn’t done that a couple of times, my heat would’ve come at a very unexpected hour and I wouldn’t have known what to do. Trust me, I would’ve been panicking." He laughed and then squeezed his arms around Kang-woo a bit. "Thank you."
Kang-woo pressed his chin on top of Chin-hwa’s head.
"And I’m sorry I didn’t realize you were suffering from an impending rut either." Chin-hwa said. "But seriously, five days?" He raised his head from his chest, staring in disbelief. "How did you plan to deal with it without letting anyone know?"
"I... I don’t know." Kang-woo said, quite bashfully. "I was still figuring things out."
"You... Weren’t planning to ask me," Chin-hwa said as he suddenly realized it and Kang-woo sighed.
"I was hoping I could push it back for as long as I could but my efforts only ended up bringing it closer," Kang-woo answered. "I wouldn’t have known what to do but... I did plan to talk to someone about it."
"Someone?"
"Maybe my Hyung or your Hyung. Someone who was older and not our parents." He said and they laughed. "In any case, now that it’s like this, I wonder what they will decide."
"What’s there to decide?" Chin-hwa asked and broke the hug. "Do you think my fathers are going to throw me towards another guy I don’t even know when you’re here?"
Kang-woo’s eyes widened, surprised for a moment and then he blushed. It was expected but unexpected. He didn’t expect Hwa to throw it out that bluntly.
"I didn’t know it before but it looks like they had caught on to the fact that we had feelings for each other. I wonder since when." Chin-hwa said, turning to look at their car when Kang-woo cleared his throat.
"Ahem,"
He wouldn’t tell Hwa that they knew all along and were just waiting for him, Kang-woo, to make a move.
Okay, so maybe he didn’t know that they were aware Chin-hwa had feelings for him. He thought they simu saw him as a great fit and that was why they always referred to him as their in-law when Chin-hwa was not around.
"Then, should we get going? It’s freezing outside." He said and then Chin-hwa noticed a snowflake fall on top of Kang-woo’s head.
"Huh?" He looked up and found out it had suddenly started snowing. "Ah, it’s snowing."
"Really?"
Kang-woo looked up and found out it was indeed snowing.
"It’s the first snow," he said and looked at Chin-hwa who was excitedly watching him. "It’s so special,"
"Yeah, and we happened to be outside. So lucky." Chin-hwa said and dropped his head, only to meet Kang-woo’s gaze that had been on him the whole time.
He ended up feeling embarrassed and cleared his throat.
"Come on, let’s go to the car before it gets colder." He said and held Kang-woo’s hand, leading him towards the car.
This time, he was the one who made the first move.
"So, what are you going to do now, Hwa?" Baek-Hyun asked Chin-hwa as they entered the car. "Do you want us to tell your mother about it?"
Chin-hwa went silent. Was there a reason not to?
"I think your mother will be a better fit to explain things to you." Woo-bin said.
"Then, can I tell him after today?"
"You mean..."
"Yes, I’ll tell him but not today. They’ll be busy with the dinner and everything,"
"Okay, I understand." Baek-Hyun said. "But baby, if you want to talk, I’m here, okay?"
"I’m here too so come to me first. I have alllll the time in the world."
They were both so reliable.
"Kang-woo," Baek-Hyun called,
"Yes, sir?"
"When we get back, I’d like to have a word with you." He said and Woo-bin wondered what Baek-Hyun was trying to pull.
But since he spoke first, he’d let him do whatever he had in mind.
Baek-Hyun turned on the engine, and on their way back, Hae-won called and sent a list of things they needed.
Of course, they were preparing a big meal but they had yet to start preparing the main course because the main piece was missing.
"200 kilos of pork?" Woo-bin asked, staring at Baek-Hyun’s phone in shock. "Are we cooking for an entire village, by chance?"
"If Aein says to get a 200 kilos then we’ll get 200 kilos." Baek-Hyun said.
They both left the car to Kang-woo and Chin-hwa while they entered the supermarket to get the things listed.
But they were very sure they wouldn’t find that 200 kilos in the supermarket, so they planned to head to the market after that.
They were very sure Hae-won wanted to roast half a pig alright.
Left alone in the car, Kang-woo and Chin-hwa were thrust into a calm silence.
Chin-hwa’s eyelids gradually closed and opened back but it looked like he was exhausted and just wanted to sleep.
"Are you tired?" Kang-woo asked and Chin-hwa nodded. "Does the place where you got your blood drawn hurt?"
"Not really." Chin-hwa said and pulled up his sleeve. It was a bit red but it wasn’t swollen. "How about you?"
"I got my blood taken twice so it hurts a bit." He said over a nervous laugh and Chin-hwa adjusted on the chair and placed his head on Kang-woo’s lap.
"I still can’t believe this is happening," Chin-hwa said.
"What? The fact that we’re together or that we’re about to experience our hearts circle soon?"
Chin-hwa raised his head to look at his face clearly and said,
"Both,"
"Well, they’re both real." Kang-woo said and pressed Chin-hwa’s head back on his lap, stroking his hair softly. "And to be honest, I’m scared. I’ve heard tales of how Alphas suddenly turn violent and excessively needy when in a rut. They would do anything just to get relief and wouldn’t even be able to listen to their partner. They could even hurt their partner," he squinted his eyes shut. "I don’t want that to happen. And above all..." He was worried about making a mistake that could get Chin-hwa pregnant.
They had just confessed their feelings to each other a few days ago, and now they were talking about being each other’s heart partner.
It was so bizarre.
Chin-hwa watched his worked expression and noticed he was worried for him. Of course, when that time comes, he’d need him to feel better and vice versa.
"I don’t think it’s like that for all Alphas, though." Chin-hwa said and Kang-woo opened his eyes to look at him. "I mean, relationships would be broken a lot if that were the case. So, when you get to talk with my dad, ask him about it. And..." He raised his hand and caressed Kang-woo’s face. "I believe you would never hurt me intentionally so even if something like that were to happen," he smiled. "I wouldn’t blame you."
"Hwa," Kang-woo called, feeling touched. He knew Chin-hwa would not blame him but that didn’t make things any better. "Thank you,"
"Any time."
They gazed into each other’s eyes for a while and were even about to kiss when the front doors opened, and Chin-hwa sat up right away as if he was doing something bad.
"Alright, kiddos," Woo-bin said as he got into the driver’s seat. "I’m taking the wheels now so buckle up."
