To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 154: Your rut is due in five days

Woo-bin glanced at the back through the rearview mirror. It looked like Kang-woo was doing his best to console Chin-hwa without making a sound. Their hands were on each other, he could see.

So, it seems that already patched things and were now lovers, huh? Does this mean they’ve already crossed that line?

"Tsk," he clicked his tongue. Just thinking about it made his blood boil.

He knew this would come someday, but now that it had, he was so pissed about it, but he couldn’t take it out on anyone.

"Are you comfortable with this?" He asked Baek-Hyun who glanced behind them and said,

"Honestly, I feel annoyed." He answered. "But there’s nothing I can do about it. The kids have to grow up and be on their own someday."

"Still, it feels like shit." He mumbled. "Hwa," he called and Chin-hwa raised his head. "Before we get to the hospital, I need to know. Did you two settle your differences yet? Or are you two still under the delusion that the other person likes you as a friend and nothing more?"

Chin-hwa pursed his lips and Kang-woo exhaled.

"We’ve settled our differences." Chin-hwa answered. "And, we’re no longer on that delusion."

"So, if worst comes to worst, you two will have to..." He squinted his eyes, finding it hard to finish the words.

"I believe this part has nothing to do with us." Baek-Hyun said. "But since you two are already together, it makes matters easier. Just... Be careful."

Chin-hwa was a bit confused. Their excessive worry and continuous muffled disdain at the situation made it seem like he was on his way to war or something.

He was worried and scared. Would things be alright?

Kang-woo squeezed his hand and he looked up at him to find Kang-woo mouthing the words, ’It’s going to be okay,’ and then smiled.

Yeah, it would be okay. No matter what happened, his two dads would help him come up with a solution.

They got to the hospital after stopping by a boutique to change their clothes from formal suits to casual wear. It was more comfortable and less nerve-wracking like that.

Chin-hwa thought he was the only one going to do a test when Woo-bin pushed Kang-woo forward and said to the doctors.

"Check this one too." He said and Kang-woo turned back to find Woo-bin staring at him with menacing eyes. "He’s not been normal either."

Kang-woo knew, at that moment, that Woo-bin had figured out he was also reaching a rut cycle.

When he got back, he found out that Chin-hwa was sitting in between both of his fathers while resting his head on Woo-bin Woo-bin’s shoulder.

They seemed to be mumbling words of assurance to him that everything was okay.

Kang-woo sighed. He couldn’t help but wonder if this was his fault. Did his exposed rut Pheromones force Chin-hwa’s heat cycle to activate?

They would only know when the results were out.

"Your rut is due in five days," the doctor said to Kang-woo as he handed him the report. "And as for Park Chin-hwa, you’re indeed entering your heat cycle. And it’s unusual because your suppressants are effective and work well with your system, so we looked into it a bit."

Kang-woo gulped. What would he do if he was told he was the reason Chin-hwa was going into heat?

"Previously, you had been exposed to a moderate amount of heat Pheromones. One that aligns well with you so I’m guessing it’s from your mother?"

Chin-hwa’s mind went straight to the point where Hae-won suddenly had his heart and his Pheromones burst, ruining the dinner that day and causing all the Alphas who were not yet imprinted to leave.

"Y-yes," he answered and the doctor nodded.

"Usually, that’s not enough to force you into heat but then after that, you got exposed to another wave of heat Pheromones that was completely foreign to you. You spent a considerable amount in this Pheromone and as a result, your pores were opened considerably. Your own Pheromones began to react, and as a result," he tapped his cane on the lowered board that showed the fluctuations of Chin-hwa’s Pheromone waves.

At that point, it had spiked a lot, as if it was rebelling the suppressants, and as a result, there was a break.

"So, as you can see, you should’ve gone into heat before now but it seems you’ve had someone suppressing it." The doctor said and all their eyes slowly traveled towards Kang-woo. "Like a Pheromone shower from time to time. Anyone like that?"

"Yeah, I bet someone was doing it without realizing it," Woo-bin said. "So, doctor, is there no way to stop the heat?"

"I’m afraid not. And if it’s not taken care of the normal way, I’m afraid Park Chin-hwa will be in pain when it becomes too much on his body. The fever will eat up at him, and he might giant for not being able to take it. It’s not advisable to leave it be, so please take care of it the normal way."

"A-and..." Chin-hwa spoke up softly. "What... What’s the normal way?"

"You have to get an Alpha to spend your heat with."

Chin-hwa gulped. It felt like his throat had been clogged with a lump. An Alpha to spend his heat. Then... He looked towards Kang-woo. Did they mean he had to have sex?

"But you have to be careful," the doctor said and Chin-hwa nodded.

It wasn’t as if he was completely oblivious. He could get rid of his heat cycle by spending it with an Alpha, but then he had to be careful not to get marked or imprinted by that Alpha; if not, their lives would be sealed together.

But... If it was with Kang-woo... He felt he wouldn’t mind if he got imprinted by mistake. After all, it only meant he had been claimed by the one he desired the most.
