Chapter 119: Woo-bin’s hobby

They ate the fruits Yun-tae brought, even though it hadn’t been long since they had breakfast.

"Do you think you can do it now?" Woo-bin asked Kang-woo who nodded.

He observed closely while Woo-bin played. The reason why he was never able to match the rhythm was that he went too slow after joining Chin-Hwa in the intersection. He needed to go a little faster at one point and then return to his normal pace.

Such a thing would need accurate precision and his fingers and hand needed to move accordingly. It was impressive how Woo-bin got it the first time, since such keys weren’t normally in the acoustic version of ’Happiness’.

That’s a true music genius for you.

He wasn’t very confident he would get it once. It’d be plain arrogance if he did, but he would try. He would work hard to get it right and that was why they were practicing.

"If you want, I could play it for you more times to make it clear," Woo-bin said, looking for an excuse to spend more time with them but Kang-woo dashed those chances with his response.

"It’s alright, I think I’ve got it now. At least I know now what I need to improve." Kang-woo said, leading Woo-bin to click his tongue in dissatisfaction.

"Anyway, I’m taking Yun-tae out for a treat since no one wants to spend time with me." He said, wrapping his arm around Yun-tae’s neck, nearly suffocating him.

It was a simple something but Chin-hwa wasn’t convinced that that was all to it. He was suspicious.

"Did Dad return home last night?" Chin-hwa asked. "Is he back from his business trip?"

"Yes, why’d you ask?" Woo-bin asked, smiling normally to avoid suspicion but Chin-hwa had seen this a dozen times to know what was up.

With a blank look on his face, Chin-Hwa said,

"You’re going to spy on Mommy, who I’m guessing is on a date with Dad right now, aren’t you?" Woo-bin flinched and darted his eyes away. Chin-hwa had brought his plans to broad daylight. "It’s true, isn’t it?"

Woo-bin pouted his lips and grumbled in dissatisfaction.

"I’m lonely, okay? You kids are doing your own thing; they’re doing their own thing; I’ve got to be somewhere, okay?"

"Go to work," Chin-hwa said the one thing Woo-bin was not happy about.

Woo-bin frowned, his face looking twisted as if he had sucked in sour limes.

"Anywhere but that." He waved it off. "I don’t want to see those rat bastards giving me orders even on weekends. Don’t they have a conscience? I have a family but they still want to fill my schedule each time they get."

Chin-hwa sighed. He was such a lazy worker. Though he was no longer a musician, he was a model, and his modeling gigs brought in huge cash. He was ’the’ Woo-bin after all.

Anyone who wanted his face on their covers would need to pay a fortune and there were so many like that.

But because Woo-bin was a lazy person at work and would rather spend all his time at home, his mood got to decide whose gig he would take on.

He was that important to his company, which Baek-Hyun had bought just so Woo-bin could get free reigns.

Baek-Hyun might’ve been the one to force him to work if he wasn’t doing anything much and wasting the efforts he had put into making him what he is today.

But even Baek-Hyun could not complain because it wasn’t like he wasn’t making money. He was raking in cash that not even five models could work in a session.

That was why he was so lax with his job.

"Anyway, I’d like to see what they do without me."

And that was why he was so free to disturb whoever he wanted to disturb.

"Daddy, you have mommy to yourself the entire week. Can’t you just leave Dad one day to spend some alone time with mommy?" Chin-hwa asked. "You three spend enough time together when you’re at home but during the day, dad is mostly at work while you stay home with mom. Just think of how he’s feeling."

"Don’t say it like I plan to ruin their date." Woo-bin said. "I’m just going to watch them from afar and hang out with the kid. It’s not a big deal." He said but Chin-hwa lifted his eyebrows at him.

He’d probably bump into them and say it was a coincidence, only to end up spending the rest of the day with them.

Chin-hwa turned to Yun-tae and asked,

"Are you okay with this?"

"I am, actually." Yun-tae answered honestly, surprising Chin-hwa.

"You are?" He asked, showing his surprise with his slightly widened eyes and Yun-tae brushed the back of his neck anxiously.

"Is it weird?"

"Well, no. But I didn’t take you as such a person. That’s why I’m surprised."

"Well, I’m bored and I’m sure I’ll see a lot of fun things even while we’re sneaking up on your parents while they have their date." He said. "I hope it doesn’t seem creepy."

"Well," Chin-hwa looked away, folding his arms. "A little bit don’t worry. I’ll just have you help me with something," he slightly waved his hand, signaling him closer, and Yun-tae leaned in.

Chin-hwa whispered a few things in his ear and then moved back, smiling.

"Do you think you can do it?" He asked and Yun-tae nodded.

"Yes, leave it to me."

"What are you two on about?" Woo-bin asked but Yun-tae stayed silent, smiling as he declared,

"It’s a secret."

Chin-hwa had asked him to stop Woo-bin if it looked like he was going to approach his parents in a ’coincidental’ meeting. It might be a bit difficult but he would try his best.

Woo-bin suddenly got a notification on his phone and smiled.

"Alright," he said and got up from where he was sitting. "We’ll be off now."

’I feel daddy put a tracker on mommy.’ Chin-hwa thought, glancing with a glazed expression at his father. ’Hm, I think they all have trackers of one another. Just what did they hope to achieve?’ he sighed wearily. ’I can’t understand my parents even if I tried.’

Woo-bin kissed the top of his head, prompting him to open his eyes and find him smiling brightly.

"Have fun," he said and walked out the door.

Yun-tae bowed his head and stole a glance at Kang-woo before rushing off to follow after Woo-bin.

"Now that there gone, shall we continue?" Chin-hwa asked Kang-woo who smiled and nodded.

"Yes, I’ll practice until I get it right."
