To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 111: She’s upset with you
They met up with their friends, and Chin-hwa had a bunch of questions to ask Yun-tae, making sure he arrived at his workplace early and whatnot, and Yun-tae made sure to answer with a smile.
"Do I look like I got kidnapped on my way to work?" Yun-tae asked and Chin-hwa sighed. "And I called you afterward concerning the covers, but I can’t believe you were still worrying."
"Well, I wasn’t worrying." Chin-hwa said, darting his eyes away. "I was just... Stunned."
Yun-tae sighed and dropped his hand on Chin-hwa’s beanie. It was too bad he could not ruffle his hair.
"Well, be stunned no more. I suddenly got notified that I can go on paid leave, so I won’t be working till the end of the year,, and I’ll still get paid," he smiled brightly.
"Wow, how did that happen? Do part-time jobs do things like that, too?" Seoung-bo asked in surprise. "Did you make some sort of big accomplishment or something?"
"Well, I’m not sure." Yun-tae said. He couldn’t mention the incident that happened in the workplace because he didn’t want them to worry. But aside from that, he had no idea that he got notified that he could take a break and he’d still get paid.
Do workplaces do things like that? It wasn’t like it was a white-collar job or anything.
But in any case, he decided to take it since it was almost the end of the year. He could take this chance to work harder on his studies.
"So, what did you guys do yesterday?" Yun-tae asked Kang-woo.
"We went to the amusement park."
(In case you’re confused. Please reread the Chapter that’s titled ’Something was definitely wrong somewhere’ I made some corrections and additions)
"Oh, wow, just the two of you?" Dong-cha asked, looking excited, and then turned to Seoung-bo. "Hey, Seoung-bo, let’s go to the amusement park this weekend. Just the two of us."
For some reason, Seoung-bo looked away as if avoiding Dong-cha. Everyone noticed this, of course, but the first person to ask was Beom-Chim.
"Did something happen between you two?" He asked but Dong-cha looked quite oblivious as she shrugged her shoulders and said,
"Beats me. Seoung-bo’s been acting a bit weird. It’s like she’s avoiding me." She said and Seoung-bo did not even try to deny it.
"Well, you must’ve done something to her and she’s upset with you," Beom-Chim said.
"What did you two do over the weekend?" Yun-tae asked.
"Well, nothing much. We hung out on Saturday, just hanging around and then in the evening, we went drinking. I think I passed out because the next thing I remember was waking up alone in my bed." Dong-cha explained, scratching her hair. "I called her to ask if she wanted to hang out again, but she hung up after asking a few things, and she wouldn’t answer my text either." She pouted. "if I did something wrong, she can at least tell me about it. How am I supposed to know if I can’t remember?’
Well, it was a tricky something but it was clear something happened between them while Dong-cha was drunk.
"Wait, it couldn’t be that..." Yun-tae had a little idea, but he could not even confirm it without worrying that he might be making wrong assumptions, so he shook his head and kept his mouth sealed.
As much as he wanted to help his friends, the clueless Dong-cha and stubborn Seoung-bo, he couldn’t risk putting their friendship at risk with wrong assumptions.
So, they were very much on their own.
"You guys don’t need to worry about it," Seoung-bo suddenly said. "It’ll fix itself. I just need to keep my distance from Dong-cha for now so there’s nothing to worry about."
"And if the small distance widens?" Chin-hwa asked but Seoung-bo could not answer and lowered her head.
"I wonder, what would I do then?"
Well, it was indeed a complicated matter and only Seoung-bo knew what was going on, what Dong-cha did. So, they could only wait it out.
The professor came in and everyone got busy.
That day ended within the snap of a finger and Chin-hwa dragged his exhausted ass towards the pastry shop in front of the school.
"I need to replenish my energy with something sweet." He exclaimed and Kang-woo chuckled, 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"Same here."
Chin-hwa turned his head towards him.
"Why have you been following me all day?" He asked and Kang-woo pushed his face towards him.
"Well, I wonder. When we have the same classes and have the same taste buds, how is it that I’m always in the same place with you?" He chuckled and Chin-hwa rolled his eyes.
"I get your point." He said. "Will you do the ordering then? Sorry, but I’m so tired."
Kang-woo nodded and got up.
"I’ll be right back."
Chin-hwa had his face lazily glued to the table. He wished he could just shut his eyes and go to sleep. Today’s classes were especially hectic but he couldn’t even sleep as soon as he got home because they were having a test the next day.
He’d need to be very prepared.
He yawned and shut his eyes for a minute, only to open it and find Yun-tae staring right at his face.
"I knew I’d find you here." He said and Chin-hwa’s eyes widened. "Are you awake now? You know, I never knew you were a public sleeper."
"That’s because I wasn’t sleeping." Chin-hwa said, raising his head as he yawned. "Anyway, what are you doing here anyway?"
"I was looking for my boyfriend," Yun-tae said and Chin-hwa paused. Ah, that took him by surprise. He keeps forgetting that Yun-tae and Kang-woo were a couple.
They didn’t even get close to each other throughout the day, so it slipped their mind. They acted like normal friends and were mostly interested in him rather than each other.
"I’m just kidding." Yun-tae said, oddly putting Chin-hwa at ease. "I came to get some caffeine in my system so I can stay up late and burn the midnight oil since we have a test coming up."
"Oh, but it’s just a test. You don’t have to go that far." Chin-hwa said. "If you stay up too late for one test, you’ll just burn out by the morning, so study early, sleep early and wake up early,"
Yun-tae darted his eyes ways, feeling Chin-hwa’s words were even more impossible.
"Hearing it from such a bright student like you, I feel like I have to take it even more seriously." Yun-tae said but Chin-hwa feigned ignorance, titling hai head and saying,
"What do you mean bright student? I’m just in the middle of the class." He said but Yun-tae’s face went blank.
"Please, stop." He said but they both ended up laughed.
