Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 628 - 560: Jun, Your Cold Life Finale Part 2—Will She Let Go of the Past and Be With Him Again?
"I drove the car back for you, here’s the key." Jian Liangtong watched him come over, handing him the key, while intentionally observing his complexion.
She noticed that he looked noticeably better than when she left the villa that afternoon. She pursed her lips and exhaled lightly, relieved.
Huo Shaojun stood in front of her, his dark eyes fixed on her, "You saw it?"
"..." Jian Liangtong was taken aback, looking at him puzzled.
Huo Shaojun stepped closer to her.
Jian Liangtong’s nose almost touched his chest.
Her heartbeat quickened slightly, and Jian Liangtong inhaled lightly, intending to step back.
But her hand holding the car key was suddenly grasped by a dry, warm large hand.
Jian Liangtong’s palm tightened nervously, looking at Huo Shaojun with some panic.
Huo Shaojun’s face was stern, his cold eyes filled with indescribable urgency, "That room, in the past six years, I’ve only been there three times. Once today, once after returning from the UK, and once six years ago when you completely disappeared from my life."
Jian Liangtong’s entire body’s blood pulsed wildly in sync with her heart, "I, I don’t understand what you’re saying."
"Since you’ve been there, you should have seen it all. Six years ago, I was too arrogant, too foolish, to easily believe what those photos seemed to show when I saw you and Cheng Jin at the hotel, to easily believe that you betrayed me."
Huo Shaojun’s voice grew hoarser and deeper as he spoke.
Jian Liangtong could hear the self-reproach, annoyance, regret, and guilt in his tone.
But what if she heard it?
Could she just let go of all the past hurts and get back with him because of a few words of explanation, a few words indicating he misunderstood her?
Jian Liangtong’s red lips gently trembled, "The reason you could so easily believe I betrayed you is because in your heart, I was never someone you could trust. Besides, you said it yourself, these things happened six years ago. Six years, it’s so long ago. Why bring it up again now? What’s the point?"
"Tongtong..."
"Huo Shaojun." Jian Liangtong’s eyes welled up, but she tried to smile at him, "I still understand you a bit. You can’t tolerate sand in your eyes, can’t accept betrayal, you have a strong sense of possession for things that are yours. Often, you don’t consider other people’s feelings..."
At this point, Jian Liangtong’s eyes suddenly stung severely.
She paused, took a deep breath and then, smilingly, continued, "However, you have the right to be yourself. Six years ago, I thought you didn’t want me because... but now it seems it’s not the case. Maybe, you really don’t know what I’ve been through."
Jian Liangtong felt as though a boulder blocked her heart, she opened her lips but couldn’t speak for a long time.
Huo Shaojun held her hand tightly, his whole body tensed with the heart-wrenching pain, "I know."
He knows?
Six years ago, or...
Jian Liangtong’s heart ached.
Understanding what Jian Liangtong was thinking, Huo Shaojun lowered his eyebrows and said in a deep voice, "I only knew recently that six years ago..."
"Forget it."
Before he could finish, Jian Liangtong shook her head gently, "Whether you know now or knew six years ago, it doesn’t matter anymore."
Huo Shaojun felt as if his heart was being constricted by a snake, its maw swallowing his heart bit by bit, the suffocating pain was nothing compared to what he felt now.
"Your misunderstanding towards me is also dissolved, and I understand why you disliked and resented me back then. Therefore, there’s no need for us to dwell on what happened in the past. I hope we can both live our lives well from now on."
Jian Liangtong looked sincerely at Huo Shaojun and slowly said.
Huo Shaojun stared at her, "Though you understand it was all a misunderstanding, you cannot forgive my cruelty and indifference towards you."
Jian Liangtong was slightly silent, then looked at Huo Shaojun seriously, "It’s not so much about me being unable to forgive, it’s more that I can’t forgive you on behalf of Hao Hao."
Jian Liangtong’s mouth formed a faint bitter curve, "Even if you hated me then, the fact was I was carrying your, Huo Shaojun’s child. If your turning away led to his never having the chance to be born into this world, I think I’d never forgive you in this lifetime, never want to see you again. But heaven was a bit merciful to me in the end, it didn’t take Hao Hao away. Because of Hao Hao, I can forgive the world for all its unfairness to me. But only on my behalf."
"What if I say, I went to the hospital to find you, would you believe me?" Huo Shaojun’s eyes were deep red as he looked at Jian Liangtong and spoke in a raspy voice.
"..." Jian Liangtong’s eyes narrowed, looking at him, "You came to the hospital to find me?"
"Yes!"
Huo Shaojun said.
Jian Liangtong was puzzled, "I was in the hospital at that time, waiting for you every day. If you came to find me, I couldn’t have not known."
Upon hearing Jian Liangtong say she waited for him every day...
Huo Shaojun felt heartache, coupled with more self-loathing.
"I went to the hospital to find you and encountered your attending physician at the door. She and a nurse were coming out of your room. She told the nurse that you insisted on aborting the child despite her repeated warnings about your weak condition, unsuitable for the procedure, but you still insisted, causing massive bleeding during the abortion surgery, and almost dying on the operating table." Huo Shaojun almost gritted his teeth as he finished, his face cold and severe.
Jian Liangtong was shocked.
Her face flushed red in anger and disbelief, "That’s not true! How could I have had such an absurd idea as to abort our child? Why would she say that?"
Although it’s been six years, and Hao Hao is five years old now.
But hearing such words still infuriated Jian Liangtong.
"I know. I think someone bribed the doctor, knowing I would go to the hospital to see you, they set the stage on purpose, said those things deliberately in front of me." Huo Shaojun looked at Jian Liangtong’s still-angry expression, filled with deep guilt and a tender warmth.
Jian Liangtong’s long lashes trembled slightly, her lips pressed tight as if she wanted to say something, but in the end said nothing.
Huo Shaojun noticed and stared at her, "What are you thinking?"
Jian Liangtong lowered her long lashes, shaking her head, "Nothing."
Huo Shaojun narrowed his eyes with a sudden sharpness, "Regardless of who did it, I will make her pay a thousandfold!"
Jian Liangtong felt an unmistakable bitterness in her heart.
But what if this person is your own mother?
...
"Bai Qiao is still waiting outside for me, I should go." Jian Liangtong looked at him and said.
Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes flickered slightly, looking at her, unwilling to let go.
Jian Liangtong furrowed her brow.
And it was this frown that made Huo Shaojun release her hand.
Jian Liangtong was slightly startled, but then she felt relieved, took a step back, and handed him the car key.
Huo Shaojun accepted it, but his gaze remained heavily fixed on Jian Liangtong’s face.
"I’m leaving." Jian Liangtong ignored his gaze on her face and spoke softly.
Without waiting for him to respond, she brushed past him towards the stairs.
Just like when he silently followed behind Jian Liangtong as she left in the afternoon.
Jian Liangtong sighed inwardly.
...
Watching Jian Liangtong and Huo Shaojun exit the villa one after the other.
Bai Qiao, excited as a monkey, leapt from the car and waved enthusiastically at Huo Shaojun from afar, "Brother Huo, Brother Huo."
Jian Liangtong rolled her eyes to the heavens.
Huo Shaojun glanced at Bai Qiao, acknowledging him.
Jian Liangtong walked over and sat in the passenger seat.
If Bai Qiao had any sense, he should’ve gotten in the car quickly and driven away.
But clearly, he didn’t!
Instead, Bai Qiao stood outside the car, chatting enthusiastically with Huo Shaojun.
Jian Liangtong’s face was lined with exasperation, wishing she could drag Bai Qiao into the car and give him a good beating!
Bai Qiao’s antics seemed to open a new world to her!
The two of them chatted outside for no less than forty minutes or at least half an hour.
Finally, Bai Qiao got into the car.
Jian Liangtong barely had time to feel relieved when the back seat door opened.
Then Bai Qiao said to her, "Brother Huo just happens to be going out, I’ll give him a ride, Sister Tong, you don’t mind, do you?"
"..." Damn it!
