Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 6: Prelude to the big battle.
He swung his axe as hard as he could and hit nothing but air. He looked down and realised there were no more enemies.
He grabbed his axe and bow and went to the nearest storage room. These tiny rooms were in every two floors.
After locking himself inside one of the storage rooms he found cloths and tried to stop his bleeding.
This time he didn’t have free stats to increase his vitality. He remembered during that fight.
Other than the new axemanship skill he felt something else. During the entire time he was using his hawk eyes he could feel something.
It was hard to explain the feeling but he knew exactly what it meant. So he closed his eyes and used the one skill that drained the most mana.
Future sight, he saw a broom fall and a second later the broom fell. It was the second time he used the ability.
It was still just as amazing and more importantly, he didn’t feel like fainting now. He figured it was because his will and spirit were higher.
He wasn’t sure, after all he never checked his status before using the ability. However all of that was besides the point.
While using the ability he felt it again, something moving inside him to his eyes. He concentrated deeply.
He sat in meditation for a long time and he got restless. He had never been one with patience.
However his efforts were not in vain, he felt it. The mana, he felt mana coursing through his body.
He had a feeling he could control this mana and so he tried. Immediately the mana responded.
He had not expected something like that to happen, he expected to struggle to control mana but it happened almost instantly.
The system explained. ( Player has higher sensitivity to mana due to his high spirit and his strong will makes it easier to control his mana.)
He understood, spirit determined ones sensitivity to mana and will determine the ability to control mana.
Both of those stats were high in his case. He started moving his mana to his hand like he had seen in anime and read in novels.
He felt his arm grow stronger and he couldn’t help but smile. It was as he had expected, even with lower stats.
With mana he should be able to match creatures with higher stats than his. ( Congratulations to player for being the first in your world to actively utilise mana.
Title, child of mana gained. + 4 spirit, +2 will) The notification made his mood even better. Had he not been bleeding to death he would’ve jumped in joy.
After figuring out how to use mana he slept to rest. His muscles still felt like they were burning.
Even though he could follow their movements quite easily with his eyes, keeping up with them was not as easy.
It was only due to his extensive martial arts training growing up that even though he was slower and weaker.
He was still able to dance and kill multiple of them by himself. Still it came at the cost of a massive strain to his muscles.
Both his arms and legs, even his fingers were bleeding from pulling the bow strong so much.
He drifted into sleep to rest his exhausted mind. He woke up to the sound of rain, he didn’t know the time because he foolishly left the phone he found in that house.
He checked his wounds and they had stopped bleeding, a result of his high vitality stat.
He was glad he had invested in that. However the wounds still hurt and he was sure they would leave scars.
He was just glad none were on his handsome face. He checked his status. ( Gained +1 str, +1 agi, +2 perception, +1 endurance )

" System, why did I gain extra stat?" He had an idea but he wanted to be sure. ( Player physical attributes increased after pushing his body to the limit.)
He nodded, stood up and walked out to find the nearest room. With the imps dead in this floor, the rooms were left empty. He crawled into the nearest one and went to the kitchen.
He ate all the food he can find to regain his strength and drank a lot of water to help with the blood loss.
Then he searched for a clock, there was none but there was a cellphone on the floor. It was covered in blood but still working.
He turned it on and checked the time, it was 3:15 am the next day. He looked out the window and saw the heaviest rain he had ever seen.
His hawk eyes made it easier for him to see but even so, the water fell like a curtain. The rain was so loud he was certain the imps wouldn’t hear each other’s screams from the next room.
However that also meant he won’t be able to hear them coming. Tracking them by their footsteps was one of his most effective strategies.
He searched for a medical kit and found one in the cabinet. He exchanged the dirty rags with clean bandages.
Before that he disinfectant the wounds with alcohol. Applied ointment cream on them then bandaged them.
He went to the bedroom furthest from the window, locked it behind him and slept on a bed.
He was so comfortable he drifted into sleep almost immediately. When he woke up he felt refreshed.
The first thing he checked were his wounds and they no longer hurt, at least not as bad as before.
Right now what he was mostly feeling was an itch, he untied the bandages to clean the wounds.
They had mostly closed by now. It was a marvel how fast his body can heal itself. Of course it came at the cost of hunger.
His stomach grumbled like a tiger, he went to the kitchen and ate. After he was full he tied more bandages around his wounds.
He wrapped a lot of clothes around himself, especially where he was wounded. Akaris had realised this rain was his biggest opportunity.
If he wanted to kill the imp warrior then he would need to be stealthy. This rain can hide his footsteps as well as the sound of arrows themselves.
After wrapping himself in clothing he picked up his bow and went around collecting his arrows.
Then he went to the top floor, he peaked around the corner and saw it sitting on a large wooden chair like a king.
Human corpses lay next to it and it would occasionally rip off an arm to eat. Even seeing this scene he felt nothing.
He nocked an arrow, took a deep breath and did something he had never tried before. He tried to infuse his mana into the arrow.
A faint blue aura appeared around the arrow. He released the bow. The arrow cut through the air faster than any he had ever shot.
The imp warrior didn’t look like it saw it but just as the arrow was about to hit him he grabbed it.
Then he raised his head and looked directly at where Akaris was and grinned. " Damn." Akaris cursed.
