The description was straight forward, he grabbed one of the wooden arrows, it was strong.

Stronger than the arrows he uses before but weaker than his mana arrows, even if he used mana to enhance them he doubted they would reach the penetrative power and speed of his mana arrow.

Then he looked at the three corpses and chose to try his latest ability but first he decided to search for the other kobolds.

These three were accompanied by quite aarge army yet that army simply disappeared.

He looked around and didn’t see a single one of them. His hawk eyes allowed him to see far yet he saw not one.

He figured they probably ran somewhere, it was strange however how he didn’t see them leave.

’ God what is that humming?’ he had been hearing the hum of a beautiful voice like that of an angel for a while now.

They were simply gone just like that, he turned to corpse lying on his feet. ’ Wait, what was I thinking about?’

He had a feeling he was forgetting something, ’ Oh right, the other kobolds.’ then he felt a chill.

’ How did I forget about them and why did I dism...’ his thoughts stopped. He looked down and saw the corpse.

" I was planning to do something with this corpse, what was it?" He shook his head and rubbed his ear, the humming did not stop.

Then he remembered and immediately used echoes of old. He felt his mana being drained.

Golden light poured over the corpse, it dissolved into golden particles and disappeared.

He felt a connection to it like it was stuck somewhere inside him. He took a deep breath and sighed.

He was glad he defeated this troublesome kobold, even though it was alone it still have him some trouble with it unbreakable shield.

He paused and frowned then looked around searching for something. ’ Something is wrong, something is really wrong.’

He had a feeling he was forgetting something then he heard a system notification.

( Adaptation activated.) Now he was certain he was under some form of attack, one that attacked his mind.

He tried to remember and some pieces of information flowed back into his mind. He remembered there were more.

There should’ve been two other corpses here and.. and, he couldn’t remember again. Whatever was happening was messing with his memories.

This greatly terrified Akaris, he hung the quiver of the endless forest on his back and started running.

He wanted to get as far away from here as possible. He ran deeper into the first and city.

From afar he could see talk building covered in vegetation. He ran towards one of them, inside it was packed with monsters.

Instead of going through the door he climbed the trees and vines on the sides and climbed to a third floor window.

Inside there were only three weird looking monsters. They had four legs, the hinds legs were shorter and they had spikes on their backs like porcupines.

He killed all three of them then went to close the front door. Unfortunately the window was broken and he couldn’t close it.

He found a bedroom and locked himself inside, what happened still shook him even now.

He took a deep breath and checked his status screen.

His adaptation was still active meaning he was still being attacked. Also his inspect had reached level 2 without him noticing.

He looked around and saw nothing in the room. He sat like that alone until nightfall, when the sun disappeared and darkness took over he felt a cold wind blow.

Then he felt sleepy, he was slowly losing consciousness. He yawned, ’ Let me just take a nap.’

Just as he was about to close his eyes he felt a cold sensation on his spine and he jumped up.

He grabbed the katana and searched around the room. It was dark but with his hawk eyes he was able to see clearly.

He saw nothing yet his instincts born out of his high perception told him something was here.

Lurking in the shadows and watching him like a hunter stalking its prey. Akaris who had faced monsters that can rip humans to shreds felt hear grasp his heart.

His hand holding the sword started shaking but his strong will hardened his heart. ( +1 will.)

He suddenly received a notification, the extra will stat seemed to make his mind stronger and reduced the effect of whatever was attacking him.

Cold winds blew again, the sword in his hand suddenly fell to the floor. He looked down and tried to grasp it but failed. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

His body didn’t have any issues he was physically fine, better than fine but his mind had forgotten how to grasp a sword.

He looked at his hand with confusion, the fear in his heart started growing again. He tried to take the sword but couldn’t.

He really didn’t know how to grasp it or anything for that matter. He looked around and tried to walk to the corner but fell.

He has forgotten how to walk, not just his mind but body as well. The instinctual feeling of walking was gone.

As if it was a foreign concept to him now but he still remembered what walking is, how it looks but couldn’t remember how to do it.

That was wavtge worst part, his strong will meant he still remembered those things just not how to do them as if he was suddenly paralyzed.

Then he suddenly grasped for air and then realised he had been holding his breath. He had forgotten something he shouldn’t even be able to forget, breathing.

’ Shit shit shit.’ he tried to crawl but his arms gave in and lay limply on the floor.
