Chapter 1815: Chapter 1815: Protecting You

Vincent was not surprised that Charlotte Thompson had now woken up.

He glanced at Charlotte, put the phone back in his pocket, then leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms and revealing a smile.

"How are you feeling now? Is there anything uncomfortable?"

Although the smile on Vincent’s face hadn’t changed at all, Charlotte felt that the person standing in front of her had turned into a complete stranger.

Charlotte felt a vague sense of fear in her heart; how had she not noticed anything off about Vincent before?

How long has he been pretending in front of her?

"Where are you taking me?"

Charlotte tried to keep her voice calm.

What she needed to do now was assess her situation, then find an opportunity to contact Justin Battleson.

Vincent didn’t immediately answer Charlotte’s question but instead walked over to a table and poured her a glass of water.

"Of course, I’m taking you to a nice place. I remember you said you liked the seaside before."

But Charlotte didn’t take the glass of water Vincent handed her, pursing her lips with undisguised indifference in her eyes.

"I didn’t poison the water. The effects of the medicine in your body just wore off, so you must feel thirsty. Drinking some water is good for you."

Vincent patiently explained.

But Charlotte was unmoved by Vincent’s words, even threatening:

"Vincent, no matter what you do now, Justin Battleson will definitely find me. Instead of ending up in a miserable situation, just let me go."

Upon hearing Justin Battleson’s name, Vincent’s brow furrowed very unhappily. He didn’t put down the glass but instead stepped closer to Charlotte.

"Since I already chose to take you away, do you think I will return you to Justin Battleson’s side? Besides, Charlotte, it’s really dangerous by Justin Battleson’s side." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"Don’t you think the word danger should apply to you right now?" Charlotte raised her eyes.

"Charlotte, you’ve been hurt by Justin Battleson before. Why return to him? And just look at the state you’re in now because of him. You miscarried and harmed your body—all because of Justin Battleson. Does someone like him deserve you?"

Vincent pressed his lips together, and as he spoke, he lowered his body slightly, which brought him closer to Charlotte.

When he mentioned the word miscarriage, Vincent also noticed the complex emotions flashing in Charlotte’s eyes, causing his pale lips to curve in satisfaction.

"Charlotte, I’m protecting you."

"Protecting?"

Charlotte sounded as though she’d heard something extremely ironic, raising her wrist and rattling the chain binding her.

As she spoke, she glanced at Vincent, her voice full of sarcasm.

"So this is what Mr. Vincent calls protection."

"Sometimes, you have to do things you can’t help," Vincent moved the cup closer to Charlotte’s lips, his gentleness in voice and action was bone-deep.

The premise, however, was that he hadn’t done something so insane.

"Drink the water."
