This Doctor Is Too Wealthy-Chapter 724 - 574 What is respect
After sending Du Heng and Wu Shengnan back, Du Xuejing was so tired she felt like she could collapse. The first thing she did when she returned to her dormitory was to fall asleep.
Excessive fatigue contributed to her excellent sleep quality, and she slept dreamlessly until dawn.
Even when it was broad daylight, she was still deeply asleep. The sunlight streaming through the window caressed her bed, making her sleep even more comfortably, and she had no intention of getting up.
However, the increasingly loud chatter in the dormitory eventually disturbed her, her brain slowly starting to process external information and dragging her out of her deep slumber.
In particular, hearing the familiar name "Du Heng" made her mind become active.
"HMM..." Du Xuejing rubbed her eyes and turned over lazily, asking, "Sisters, I thought I heard you mention my Little Uncle’s name."
"Tingting, are you awake?"
"Tingting, Tingting, hurry up and get up! Something big has happened!"
"Hurry, your Little Uncle is on fire!"
On fire? Caught fire? My Little Uncle caught fire?
The last vestiges of drowsiness vanished instantly, and the jolt of alarm pulled Du Xuejing bolt upright.
"My Little Uncle caught fire?" The intense mental activity temporarily short-circuited Du Xuejing’s ability to think.
"Are you still half-asleep? Your Little Uncle is *on fire*—he’s famous!"
Famous? Not *actually* on fire? So he’s okay, right?
Du Xuejing’s short-circuited brain slowly reconnected. Knowing that Du Heng was fine, she flopped back down. "You scared me! I really thought my Little Uncle was on fire."
Just then, one of her roommates walked over and shook Du Xuejing. "You should still get up and take a look. Your Little Uncle’s situation is pretty much like *actually* being on fire."
Du Xuejing was now fully awake. "What do you mean?"
"Look, your Little Uncle is blowing up on our School’s forum! Everyone’s arguing fiercely about him now." The roommate spoke while holding her mobile phone out for Du Xuejing to see.
With just a glance, Du Xuejing noticed the name ’Du Heng’ mentioned several times.
"What’s going on? What did my Little Uncle do?" Du Xuejing was completely bewildered. She quickly rubbed her eyes and began to read carefully.
"What else could it be? Of course, it’s about him using National Medical Master Zhang Dewen to make a name for himself."
"Yeah, because of this, our School’s forum is exploding with arguments. I heard that the traditional Chinese medicine forums of other medical schools are also incredibly active, all discussing your Little Uncle."
While Du Xuejing looked at the mobile phone, she was also quickly absorbing the information from her roommates. In a short while, she had a general understanding of the situation. "Are these people crazy? They should just focus on their studies! Are they even qualified to discuss my Little Uncle and the National Medical Master?"
"Heh, Tingting, you’re not quite right about that."
"That’s not right, Classmate Du Xuejing, please watch your words."
Du Xuejing handed the mobile phone back and glared. "Did I say anything wrong? A bunch of Students who haven’t even grasped the basics are discussing two Doctors who save lives and solve complex medical cases. Aren’t they completely out of line?
"Mr. Zhang Dewen, just the title of National Medical Master, is something they could pursue their entire lives and still not necessarily obtain. Moreover, Mr. Zhang is a Visiting Professor for us TCM Students. Are they, as clueless Students, qualified to question him?"
Du Xuejing sounded somewhat indignant. "Although my Little Uncle isn’t some renowned expert, he has treated, if not ten thousand, then at least five thousand Patients! Besides, he even solved a problem that a National Medical Master couldn’t. Are *they* qualified to talk about my Little Uncle?"
"Tingting, you’re still young. Think about who’s discussing them now? University Students."
"Exactly. In the eyes of University Students, there’s nothing that can’t be discussed."
"That’s right. University Students see themselves as pioneers pursuing truth, as warriors tearing down all injustice. Discussing two industry seniors? Is that supposed to be a big deal for them?"
Her roommates’ words made Du Xuejing even more irritated. She snatched the mobile phone back. "Look at this passage: ’Every National Medical Master is a treasure to the field of traditional Chinese medicine. In the past, they blazed the trail, clearing a path for us later generations. Now, they continue to use their knowledge to guide and protect us, the industry’s newcomers.
"’Without their proactive efforts, we wouldn’t have our current comfortable learning environment or so many job opportunities. Without their arduous contributions, acupuncture and guasha boards might have become museum exhibits. The very name ’traditional Chinese medicine’ might have long ago become just a term in history textbooks, a mere historical footnote.
"’Times are progressing, medicine is advancing, but our respect for our predecessors and Masters must not be forgotten.
"’There are many ways to become famous, but I believe stepping on the shoulders of seniors, using a Master’s reputation to build one’s own, is shameful and utterly unacceptable.’"
Not reading it aloud might have been tolerable, but voicing the words made Du Xuejing truly enraged. "Listen to this! Are these the words of a human being? They’re putting themselves on a moral high horse to directly attack my Little Uncle’s character!
"Do they even know my Little Uncle? Do they know what he’s done, what he’s been through?
"On what grounds do they judge that my Little Uncle doesn’t respect his seniors? 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Is it just because he overturned an incorrect diagnosis made by a Master’s student? Does that suddenly mean he disrespects the Master himself? Does that make him some despicable, immoral villain?"
