There Is No World For ■■-Chapter 165: Ghosts of the Past, Ties of the Present (4)
"Holy shit..."
Neti muttered under her breath as the skeletal dragon’s massive foot crushed a container, bending its metal frame with an agonizing screech.
–Yekaterina, you fool. You’ve already awakened the main body.
“Shut up! I almost died!”
Yekaterina snapped back, but Kahal Magdu paid her no mind, instead lowering its enormous skull toward the sewer.
The flickering blue flames in the dragon’s empty eye sockets burned past Yekaterina, locking onto Yeomyeong.
–You’ve grown even stronger. Excellent.
“....”
Yeomyeong didn’t answer. Instead, he reached out with telekinesis—not toward Kahal Magdu, but toward the two sisters behind him.
–This place is too cramped for a fight.
A moment later, the skeletal dragon’s jaws gaped open.
A glow of blue fire gathered within its maw, the mana within the sewer shuddering as the temperature spiked.
The instant the dragon’s breath erupted—
Yeomyeong yanked the two sisters toward him and launched himself toward the sewer ceiling.
Kwoooosh!
The moment the dragon’s breath melted through the sewer, Yeomyeong and the sisters burst through the ceiling, escaping to the surface in near-perfect synchronization.
Just barely making it out in time, Yeomyeong tucked the sisters under his arms and rolled across the pavement.
Kahal Magdu rose after them, its enormous body displaying a terrifying agility, the debris of shattered concrete and stone scattering in every direction.
The dragon gazed down at Yeomyeong and the sisters.
–You’ve ripened enough, Cheonyeomyeong. It’s time to harvest.
As it spoke, it lifted a forelimb. Twisted mana surged through its fingers, spreading outward.
Not an attack—a command.
Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.
From every direction, the sound of undead footsteps echoed.
From alleyways, sewers, even rooftops—the undead were coming.
“...Both of you, handle the zombies. I’ll take care of the dragon.”
Yeomyeong tightened his grip on his sword as he spoke.
The two sisters, without hesitation, pulled out their weapons.
–You? Handle me? You must have gotten cocky after fighting my Dragonfang Soldiers.
Kahal Magdu let out a mocking chuckle, its mana surging.
The twisted mana of necromancy and the mana of a dragon crashed together, pressing against the surroundings.
–Go on, struggle. I’ll enjoy watching.
As soon as the dragon’s voice fell, Yeomyeong vanished.
A Bikak Technique step—a single burst of movement.
His sword glowed with starlight as he sprinted.
Comet Sword.
From the very first strike, he went all in.
He already knew from experience—there was no such thing as holding back against a dragon.
Before it could take to the sky—while it was still grounded—he had to end it.
–Opening with a killing move? Such a waste, rushing a fight to its end.
Kahal Magdu whipped its tail, collapsing a building in Yeomyeong’s path.
The debris exploded outward, a shower of rubble meant to block him.
Yeomyeong ignored it and fired the Comet Sword.
Flash!
A light too massive to be fired from a sword—a comet’s brilliance tore through everything in its way, cutting toward the dragon.
At the same time, Kahal Magdu leaned back, raising both hands to cast two different spells.
A barrier in the left hand.
A dark, unknown magic in the right.
The two forces twisted together, forming something grotesque—a warped defense spell, a fusion of dragon mana and necromancy.
The next moment—
The impact exploded.
BOOOOOOM!
The ground shook.
Dust swirled, obscuring vision.
But neither Yeomyeong nor Kahal Magdu paused.
Beneath the dragon’s wings, a crimson blaze flickered to life.
In front of it, Yeomyeong summoned dozens of ice spikes.
!!!
The fire and ice collided, vapor exploding into the air.
More detonations followed, but Yeomyeong didn’t stop—he kept closing the distance.
A few more steps, and he’d be within range.
The moment his sword was coated in milky-white sword energy—
Kahal Magdu snapped its fingers.
A chunk of concrete flew toward Yeomyeong like a cannonball, knocking his sword away.
–Reminds me of the Night of Manzhou. Don’t you agree?
Immediately after, the dragon’s tail came crashing down.
As fast as a superhuman martial artist’s strike.
Clang!
Yeomyeong blocked with his sword, but the weight difference was absolute.
Even absorbing the impact, his body flew backward—
Or at least, that’s what Kahal Magdu expected.
But Yeomyeong barely budged.
–What?
The next moment, the tip of Kahal Magdu’s tail was severed.
Snap!
Bone fragments fell from Yeomyeong’s sword, which still glowed with white energy.
In that brief instant—he had cut through the dragon’s bones.
–Hah!
Kahal Magdu let out a sound—a laugh? A roar of rage?
It breathed in.
Yeomyeong, sensing danger, rolled aside—
Just as something slammed into the dragon’s skull and exploded.
BOOM!
A rocket-propelled grenade, fired by Seti.
Kahal Magdu’s head whipped sideways, and its breath attack scorched an empty row of buildings instead.
A brief opening.
Yeomyeong gripped his sword and kicked off the ground.
His target—the dragon’s heart, nestled within its ribcage.
‘This ends here.’
As his sword neared its mark—
Kahal Magdu, in a last-ditch effort, reeled back and spewed flames.
The buildings around it shattered, the streets burned, but—
Yeomyeong’s speed was just a fraction faster.
And finally—
Yeomyeong’s sword pierced between the dragon’s ribs.
There, in his sight—
A massive blue gemstone, pulsing with fire.
The dragon’s heart.
A crystal, fragile enough that his sword could cut it in one strike.
The moment Yeomyeong’s blade touched the heart—
–You let your guard down.
BOOOOOOOM!
From within the heart, an overwhelming surge of mana erupted.
The force hurled Yeomyeong backward, sending him flying out of the ribcage.
Severed ribs crashed to the ground with a heavy thud.
–Did you really think a dragon’s heart would be so easily cut?
“...Tch.”
For a creature that had just lost its ribs, Kahal Magdu’s voice dripped with confidence.
No—it shuddered with something else.
Excitement.
–Now... it’s my turn.
The dragon flapped its wings.
Yeomyeong had no intention of letting this turn into an aerial battle.
Bzzzt!
He reached out with telekinesis, grabbing hold of ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) the dragon’s ankle—
And prepared another Comet Sword strike.
If he could just land one more clean hit on its chest—
–Grooo...!
Zombies.
Somehow, they had swarmed around him.
****
BOOOOM!!
Seti’s hammer slammed into the ground, sending out a shockwave with a crack of thunder.
Zombies and skeletons were blown away, tumbling through the air like ragdolls.
But it didn’t last.
The undead outside the blast radius quickly filled the gaps, surging forward to attack her again.
“Damn it.”
Neti wasn’t having an easier time either.

From her vantage point on the rooftop, she hovered four automatic rifles with telekinesis, firing nonstop while swapping out magazines.
Spent casings rained down to the streets, but no matter how many fell, more zombies replaced them.
There was no end in sight.
‘I have to help him...!’
She bit her lip.
Her sister had managed to create an opening to fire an anti-tank rocket, but it didn’t seem to have done much.
Should she fire another one?
Just as Neti hesitated, she heard it—the sound of beating wings in the distance.
She turned her head.
Far beyond, a horde of undead was swarming Yeomyeong—far more than what was coming for her.
Shit.
“Sis, we’ve got an emergency!”
No further explanation was needed.
Seti, who had just crushed a skeleton with her hammer, immediately leapt onto the rooftop, taking in the same grim scene as Neti.
The dragon was taking flight, and Yeomyeong was trapped by zombies.
There was no time for debate.
Seti made her decision instantly.
“...Neti, go.”
“What?”
“Go back him up. You both can use telekinesis, so you should be able to hold your ground.”
“...What about you?”
Neti’s voice wavered slightly.
Seti turned toward the underground storage area, where two familiar figures were approaching.
A golden staff-wielding old man and a decadent woman carrying a spear.
Yekaterina and Count Nam.
And they weren’t alone.
A horde of undead followed them like an escort.
Neti didn’t ask if her sister could handle them alone.
They’d been together too long for pointless questions like that.
“...See you alive, Sis.”
With that, Neti grabbed her weapons and launched herself toward Yeomyeong, using Bikak Technique.
Seti watched her retreating back for a moment, then whispered a prayer to her god.
****
–Why not pray? Beg the gods for another Saint like last time.
Kahal Magdu’s voice rumbled from above.
It had taken flight.
But Yeomyeong still held its ankle with telekinesis, preventing it from rising too high.
Even so, the dragon was already higher than most buildings.
A safe distance from the Comet Sword.
And with zombies swarming Yeomyeong, it was only a matter of time before Kahal Magdu fully took to the sky.
And once it ascended?
It would drain Yeomyeong’s stamina with endless zombie waves, then bombard him with spells.
–If you wanted to fight a dragon, you should have brought a helicopter.
Kahal Magdu was already thinking ahead—claim Cheonyeomyeong’s corpse, raise him as a Death Knight, extract the launch codes from his mind—
Just as the dragon’s thoughts continued, a new force of telekinesis wrapped around its ankle.
Bzzzt!
It wasn’t strong enough to break its bones, but it was enough to pull it downward.
–Futile.
Kahal Magdu turned toward the source—
A human girl with sky-blue hair, leaping across rooftops toward them.
–Same fighting style?
It stretched out a hand, firing a fireball directly at her.
–Burn to ash.
But the girl evaded lightly, her movements like a feather caught in the wind.
The same martial arts as Yeomyeong’s.
“We’re brother-in-law and sister-in-law, you bastard!”
The girl shouted, leaping over the rooftop and landing beside Yeomyeong.
“Neti?”
“I’ll explain later!”
Neti cut him off as she pulled a grenade pin, hurling it into the surrounding zombies.
BOOM!
The explosion cleared a path, giving her a brief moment to weave a spell.
“Brother-in-law, pull!”
A sudden demand.
Most would have hesitated—but not Yeomyeong.
He immediately complied, using telekinesis to drag Kahal Magdu downward.
Because he understood exactly what she was trying to do.
–Idiots. Do you really think two humans can drag down a dragon?
Kahal Magdu laughed, flapping its wings.
Yet, despite its mocking words, it didn’t ascend.
Slowly, but surely—it was sinking.
“We can do this,” Neti smirked.
Kahal Magdu didn’t panic.
It simply opened its mouth.
It was an interesting resistance, but in the end, height was an absolute advantage.
If it just ignored the zombies and burned everything, it would be over.
–Shame. I wanted to preserve your corpse.
As its breath attack gathered in its throat—
Bang!
A pure white bullet pierced the dragon’s eye.
