Chapter 111: Are you jealous?

"You are very demanding, huh?" Qi Jianyi twitched her lips. She really didn’t know how to deal with this man.

"You kissed me." Song Chengfeng was persistent in his request. He kept bringing up the fact that he was taken advantage of by her earlier.

"You hate it?" Refusing to play along, Qi Jianyi twisted his words around.

"Of course not! I like it so much. You can kiss me whenever you want, I don’t mind." Instead of rushing to comfort her, he decided to continue playing rogue and a little pitiful wife at the same time.

"But I want to be your boyfriend... How can you kiss me and not want to take responsibility?" He faked a pout that almost made Qi Jianyi smack him on the head and run away.

She could no longer play with Song Chengfeng. This man was totally crazy!

"Who wants to be your girlfriend? Go look for her! I don’t know you," she exclaimed in an innocent manner and waved her hands, asking him to leave her alone. She really didn’t want to admit that they knew each other.

"You don’t have to be my girlfriend. I’ll be your boyfriend." Seeing her irritated look, Song Chengfeng hurriedly retorted.

His words weren’t low, and many people around them heard it. They all looked at him weirdly. What did he mean by that? How could Qi Jianyi not be his girlfriend yet he was her boyfriend?

"Has one kiss messed with your mind or something?" Qi Jianyi genuinely asked with concern.

She stepped forward and held his cheeks with both of her hands. She seriously studied his face, trying to find whether there was a loose screw somewhere.

"Jianyi, I don’t want to be just friends," he softly spoke. His eyes lowered, meeting hers. His eyes held seriousness and a hint of sadness in them.

Knowing that she was destined to lose, Qi Jianyi pinched his cheeks and pushed the man away. She rubbed her face to cover her awkwardness before responding.

"If you don’t want, then you don’t have to. I like you, after all." With that, she fastened her pace and left Song Chengfeng standing stupidly alone.

After processing her words and clearly hearing that she had accepted him as her boyfriend, a wide smile ceremoniously rose on his face. As expected, being a little pitiful wife was easier to win her heart than being a cold, domineering husband.

Now, unfortunately for Qi Jianyi, Song Chengfeng knew which tricks to pull every time he wanted her to follow his wishes.

Refusing to let his newly established girlfriend be stolen by others, Song Chengfeng hurriedly followed her to the exit of the haunted house. They needed to wait for the others to come out before they could go and play somewhere else.

...

Qi Jianyi wished goodnight to the twins before entering her room. They had just gotten back from the amusement park.

After the twins and her cousins came out of the haunted house, they demanded for her to follow them and abandon the happy Song Chengfeng.

So, for the rest of the night, Qi Jianyi had been playing with the three teenagers. Meanwhile, Song Chengfeng was discarded far away and could only sulk pitifully.

Of course, he still didn’t forget to boast to He Zeqing about his newly established relationship, making the older cousin turn red in dissatisfaction.

Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to interfere with Qi Jianyi’s choice. He could only nag at her about how much of a scumbag Song Chengfeng was and ask her to always pay attention lest she be fooled by that man.

While he was nagging, Song Chengfeng, on the other side, couldn’t help but intervene to protect his image. He refuted that he was innocent and that, obviously, it was Qi Jianyi who was the scumbag, which earned a glare from her.

How did taking the initiative to kiss him become the very reason she got the title of scumbag? Not to mention, Song Chengfeng clearly liked it too!

In the end, He Zeqing was driven dumbfounded and speechless by the two of them. It was to the point that he refused to walk side by side with them any longer and willingly joined the three energetic young men.

Qi Jianyi sat on the bed and leaned back on the headboard. She smiled when she saw a notification text from Song Chengfeng.

Not even ten minutes after they separated, Song Chengfeng could barely control his emotions and kept saying how much he missed her.

Qi Jianyi only replied with a warning to pay attention to the road and stop messaging her until he arrived, and then she ignored his other messages. She really couldn’t spoil him.

It hadn’t even been a day, yet Song Chengfeng already knew how to play pitiful to win her favor. Or to be fair, Qi Jianyi really couldn’t face the pitiful Song Chengfeng because he looked so annoying.

Therefore, in order to save herself from facing the sulking Song Chengfeng, she ended up giving in every time.

minute later, Song Chengfeng replied with a brief "okay" and said he would call her later.

Qi Jianyi didn’t reply. After all, she knew he would still call her even if she didn’t say anything.

Seeing how the usually arrogant young master acted like a puppy in front of her, her heart softened. She closed her eyes, sighing slightly.

She could feel regret seeping in. It wasn’t regret for kissing him, nor was it due to her acceptance of him as her boyfriend. It was regret that she had chosen to be selfish.

She opened her eyes and stared at the portrait hanging on the wall opposite her bed. That was a portrait of her. Or, to be more specific, it was a portrait of the original Qi Jianyi.

Seeing the familiar face, Qi Jianyi’s mind, which had calmed down earlier, began turning again.

"What are you doing right now, Qi Jianyi?" she whispered, curiosity evident in her voice.

"Are you, just like me, meeting someone you like in my world?" Thinking that the possibility of the original Qi Jianyi falling in love with someone just like her was high, she began to feel uncomfortable.

If by chance the original Qi Jianyi did have a relationship with someone and then she returned to her body, wouldn’t that mean she would have to face that man’s affection? Even if she broke up with him later, wouldn’t he chase after her for an explanation?

The more she thought about it, the more she felt goosebumps. In the end, Qi Jianyi shook her body in disgust and shook her head.

She and Song Chengfeng were different. Song Chengfeng knew that she was not the real Qi Jianyi. That meant, after she left this world, he would not pester the original Qi Jianyi either.

But the original Qi Jianyi had no reason to tell others about her soul-swapping. After all, she was the one who wanted it. She wished to leave her world, inhabit someone else’s body, and live her life.

So, how could she have the courage to tell others that the body she lived in now was the body she stole?

"You said, in the past, you could see my life in your dreams. Then can you see my life now?" Her question, which was not directed to anyone, echoed slowly in the air, dissipating without an answer.

"Can you see how your parents love me? How the twins care so much about me? How Song Chengfeng is willing to be with me under any circumstances? Are you jealous?" She couldn’t help but provoke the person in that portrait.

But to her dismay, no one was there to respond. Her questions were destined to remain unanswered.

"Your body is rejecting my soul. I wonder whether my body is doing the same?" Qi Jianyi turned and lay down on the bed.

Though her determination to go home hadn’t changed, she was no longer as rushed as she used to be. Nor did she panic every day.

Because, for some reason, Qi Jianyi figured out that she didn’t have to find the way home. Well, it’s not like there was a clue to go home.

When Qi Jianyi realized that her body was weakening due to rejecting her soul, she had a hunch that there was a possibility that when this body completely shut her soul out, she would return to her real body where she originally belonged.

Of course, Qi Jianyi had also analyzed the possibility of her truly dying by then. But she didn’t have any choices left. If she was really meant to die after this body shut down, then it was her fate.

However, having this realization didn’t mean Qi Jianyi wanted others to know, especially Song Chengfeng.

That man had become listless for the past few weeks and was always on guard just in case she fainted again. He was still under the impression that Qi Jianyi needed to find a "key" to return to her world.

If Qi Jianyi told him about her theory, she knew Song Chengfeng wouldn’t be able to accept that fact. Because both of them could see that her body had truly weakened, and it wouldn’t take long for it to completely shut down.

Therefore, it was better for some things to remain secret. Qi Jianyi could only selfishly hide this theory from him.

Because right now, she was the happiest thing that ever happened to him.
