The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 609: Six months of progress
Chapter 609: Six months of progress
Alix thought the training the system planned to put her through would be a short stunt and then it would be over. She was wrong, the training for her, her family and close friends that she had pulled into the systems circle took six months long.
In those six months, not a trace of the real her was seen in the real world, she was always in the cloud house. Information had been released that her pregnancy was high risk so she had been put on bed rest until she after giving birth.
To further sell the story, a clone of Alix was sometimes seen, walking around Blossom courts, surrounded by a dozen bodyguards.
During this time, there had been significant changes in the bureaus around the world which were a result of the escalation of the business wars between the six families. It was actually five because the Shen family which represented the Asian continent isolated themselves, staying away from the power struggles.
A lot of former bureau employees had been replaced, it was out with the old and in with the new. There were more system hosts on the board of the higher ups than before.
This happened because a lot of higher ups had been found in the underground town when Afaro was arrested.
Alix’s popularity with system hosts had received another boost with Afaro’s defeat thanks to the captain attributing all victory to her. She was currently ranked third in strength among the known system hosts, Genesis and the unknown host were still holding first and second position respectively.
It was another day, Alix had just checked the rankings and the positions had not changed, she was still number three.
She put her phone down on a small brown table and feel back in the large soft fluffy grey chair that her mother had customized for her comfort.
Alix did not find the chair comfortable anymore because no matter how she sat, the large extended belly would not allow her find comfort.
"Stop obsessing with those rankings." Mafan walked in on her and vanished, returning to the system space.
"Haven’t you figured out who this number two is?" she asked as she eyed the ranking list on her virtual screen distastefully.
"I did, i am surprised that you have not. It is a very obvious answer host, we have had it all along." he answered with a light laugh.
Alix thought about it for a minute but nothing could come to mind, she was too distracted by the kicking of the babies in her belly. In fact, it was not just kicking but bouncing.
"Aah, which one of these stinky troublemakers thinks my womb is a bouncing castle?" she quizzed unhappily.
She looked at her overly extended belly and sighed, she was ready to give birth. Two more weeks, just two more weeks and she would be back to owning her body.
"I am reminding you for the twentieth time since you are complaining for the twentieth time, there is medicine that can safely evict the five invaders from your body. They have been nurtured by me, they are practically ready to be kicked out, you are just clinging on to them unnecessarily."
Alix had heard this same speech from the system a few too many times and she acted death as always. Children were carried in the womb for at least nine months unless otherwise. She was also determined not to bring them out into the world before dealing with Genesis. She had no desire to end up like the captain’s wife.
This was proving to be a difficult task however because after capturing Afaro, Genesis and his supporters had gone radio silent. Not a peep of activity from their group had been whispered about in past six months.
The resources which had been captured in the underground town had injured them financially. Billions had been captured in cash, pearls, gold and other jewels, drugs, technology, weapons and a lot of loot. It was a big win for the bureau but until she extracted Genesis’s system, it was not over.
"Are you thinking about Genesis again?" The system quizzed.
"I think about him everyday." She looked out of the window at the fragrant pink flowering plum blossoms. The flowers were pushing into the open window, asking for entry.
Weather boy had been the one that planted them, just as Afaro had created a beautiful town.
"Do you think Genesis has a beautiful place as well? It must be, right? Someone with a world development system is bound to have carved out a special place in the world where they felt safe. How much loot do you think i will find when i get there?"
"Everything is loot to you." The system rolled its eyes. "Stop thinking of useless things. In the last six months with our information, the bureau has picked clean every house owned by Genesis that Afaro ever visited around the world. I don’t think there is anymore loot to be picked, we have successfully driven him into poverty."
That fact was true, thanks to her and the system most of the work Genesis had done in the last few years had been unraveled. How could he build a new world without money?
Even if the dark side was alive, it was bound to be demoralized.
"Host we should handle current matters, you wanted to talk to the head of the Shen family again today, do you still intend to ask them to make peace with the new bureau?"
As the last family of the seven left standing strong and the next rulers of the bureau according to the old laws, they were proving to be stubborn and refusing to adhere to the recent changes.
For a while now, her system had been clamoring to pay a visit to them and extract the systems in their family.
"He has already ready rejected me twice now, i don’t plan to collaborate with them anymore." she answered coldly.
She was still looking at the plum blossoms so she didn’t see the devious look on the face of the system which had long wanted to extend its claws to the Shen’s.
The door burst open, pulling Alix out of her thoughts. Her mother came rushing inside with excitement in her voice and on her face.
"Look, pretty baby, mommy grew a third tail." she announced loudly.
She twisted her butt from side as if she was dancing, showing off her fluffy red tails. All the Tai’s with systems meant for combat had progressed greatly during the six months of training. Tai Change was already half way to the strength weather boy once wielded.
Afaro’s former system had gone to grandpa Tai and he was surprisingly handling it well, except for when he was grumpy and poked the person that angered him with Afaro’s trident which he didn’t need but insisted on having anyway.
He had even taken to wearing long white robes and growing his beard longer. Every time he walked around with that trident, he looked like a mythical god from a movie.
His pretentiousness had grown a great deal to the dismay of the family. Everyone else got a system, including some of the wives and they had all been training harshly, preparing for the final battle.
Alix went ahead to touch the new tail her mother had grown, a sign that her strength and level had gone up a notch.
"I can’t wait for your father to see it." auntie Mo squealed.
Suddenly, Alix had the same expression on her face as Majesty usually had when he saw her being intimate with Caishen, a look of pure horror.
