Alix did not get to enjoy most of the festivities prepared for her bachelorette party, she fell asleep as early as 8 p.m and auntie Mo declared that she be left to rest. Everyone assumed that the pregnancy was the cause of the sleepiness so they let her be.

As early as 5 a.m, Alix opened her eyes. She had slept in one of the presidential suites at the hotel. Most of the rooms in fact were occupied by guests from both families. The first thing she saw in the dim light when she woke up was her wedding dress.

It was sitting on a dummy and wrapped in white film to prevent any dust from dirtying it. In addition to the dress, her shoes were sitting up on the counter as were the long white gloves and a tiara.

Seeing those things in one place reminded her of what day it was, her wedding. Her heart started to beat rapidly and she felt jittery, nerves setting in even before the important hour had arrived.

"I am getting married." she whispered.

She covered her mouth and took a deep breath, then laughed into her hands.

"I am really getting married." she said, again as if she was trying to reassure herself of this fact.

She took another deep breath and looked around the room. Holea, Jin Kang, Zhang An and Mantis were there, passed out in chairs or on the soft carpeted floor. Mantis was there because she took her job as her personal bodyguard seriously but why had the other three slept in her room?

Was it because Holea was her maid of honor and Mu Mu her daughter, the flower girl? They really took their duties seriously.

Her stomach rumbled and Alix abandoned all unnecessary thought, food came first. She stepped out of bed, taking care not to step on Mantis or wake Majesty and Mafan.

She got her bag from an unoccupied single chair and tiptoed back to the bed.

From the bag, she pulled out ready prepared breakfast items from aunt Sen’s shop and also made herself a cup of coffee. Today, she needed to be extra sharper than normal. She would not put it past the six families or dark side to attempt anything at her wedding.

Perhaps this would be a good day to capture more flies and get some free systems.

As she ate slowly, she scrolled through her phone to see the latest news in the country and trending topics. What was going on with Wukong’s funeral? Even though she was not attending, like many people she wanted to know who was inheriting his numerous assets.

She cut a fork sized piece of cake from the large half which was part of the spice cake she had taken from the Heinrich’s. It was still as tasty and fresh as it was on the day she liberated it.

Aside from Wukong’s news, her own wedding was trending. Zhang group, TFK, Light entertainment and all affiliated companies had shared congratulatory messages and posted one of the pictures from their pre-wedding photo shoot.

It was the same picture so this was a coordinated PR move. The clothes they were wearing in that pictures were not the ones to be used at the official wedding.

She had gone from ordinary woman to fairy with such smooth clear skin. No wonder a company had looked for her to endorse their skin cream.

"Your narcissism has gone up a notch." The system commented.

She heard the voice in her head but since Mafan was in the bed with her, cuddling Majesty, she turned to look directly at him.

"Hey, Mafan, i need you to be extra sharp on security today. Handle things for me and collect all the hostile systems which pass by, uninvited. It’s an important day for me so i am going all out on safety, sweep the entire hotel. I am certain that some impatient people have already found their way inside."

"I cleaned them out last night."It responded.

"Oh."

She checked her bag in the compartment where the balls with retrieved systems were kept, with her eyes she counted twelve of them and whistled.

"What a big score, what did i miss?"

It was quite a big haul for one night. "Tsk, tsk, even when i am sleeping i can collect loot like this. I am so awesome."

She gave herself all the credit shamelessly.

"You didn’t do any of the work, i am the awesome one." the system reiterated. "Anyway, you can consider it my wedding present to you. Now you have enough systems for all your brothers and grandparents. The next ones we collect should be for your children. I won’t always be here to give you systems so make use of the time we have together."

She put down the fork and gulped down the last of her coffee. The tray was put on the bedside table and she turned Mafan to face her.

"What do you mean by you won’t always be here?"

As soon as she asked the question, a wave of dizziness swept through her mind and she found herself being engulfed by sleep.

"Fruit it!" she whispered weakly before her eyes were closed.

Mafan got busy and started wiping her memory, removing that part of their conversation.

"I must be hanging around Jin Kang a lot if i cannot even keep my own secrets." The system mumbled.

Alix did not need to know about it’s plans or mission, not until the final moment.

An hour later, Alix was woken up by Holea who had a strict teacher kind of look on her face. All that was missing was a stick in her hands.

"It’s the day of your wedding, wake up."

She yawned and stretched her hands, looking around with uncertainty. She had no idea how she had fallen asleep again.

The delightful screams and smell of fresh bread in the room chased away the uncertainty. It was the day of her wedding, a long awaited day and nothing was more important than that right now.
