The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 592: Short talk with Mafan.
Chapter 592: Short talk with Mafan.
The blue elf on the virtual screen which was on a familiar vacation mode setting lazily turned to look at her.
"Of course i did. Your cat actually stole his luck which resulted in the fracturing of his system. Now you have two wealth generating systems, one for Tai Fong and one for Wu Wei. Congratulations host."
"Really!" Alix exclaimed happily.
She started exploring the two wealth generation systems and forgot about pressing the system for answers. The news had reported that Wukong died of a drug overdose and there were witnesses. Maybe she was overthinking things.
She planned to give both systems away but she wanted to see their features first, which was impossible since she was not a host to any of them.
"Mmm, system i don’t see your level anymore. Where has it gone?"
"It’s not needed anymore." The blue elf answered.
Bi Cang was not aware that Alix was holding a different conversation interrupted her talk with the system.
"Young madam, will you be going for the funeral? An invitation was delivered to the house for you and the young master."
"Not going."
She did not even hesitate for a single second in uttering the rejection strongly. Why was someone sending invitations to a funeral in the first place? As far as she knew they were open events and anybody was free to come and wish the deceased farewell. Were funerals for the rich different?
"Why are you thinking about funerals when you are getting married tomorrow? Do not think of unnecessary things, keep your mind focused on important matters only."
The blue smurf suddenly appeared next to her in the Mafan body and poked her in the waist. Majesty shifted to make space for it.
"Don’t poke me." she put down her phone and grabbed it’s arms, imprisoning them in hers. It struggled lightly, making no effort to loosen the hold really as it did not want to hurt her.
Her lips curved upwards as her sly smile made an appearance.
"Important matters, huh! Hey, do you think i am fool? What have you been up to?"
It was trying too hard to distract her, she could tell that it was hiding something.
The childish face changed from a silly giggling one to a frigid one. The spark of joy in the eyes vanished and it was replaced with emptiness.
Alix dropped the hands and moved back a bit. For the first time, she found herself uneasy in the presence of her system. Even the beating of her heart went up and her hands immediately covered her stomach.
She had always known that she didn’t fully understand the system she had but those eyes.....they were just so cold and empty, like a bottomless dark abyss.
In a flash, they eyes changed to green sparkly ones and the silly system returned.
"Nothing that will harm you, i promise. I am just doing some cleaning up, i have not crossed your boundaries."
It didn’t finish off Wukong, her cat did. It was the one that remedied the situation and repaired his lifeless body to hide the crime. The cat could not be blamed either, it had done so for the safety of Alix and the children.
If Wukong’s plan had succeeded, she would have died along with the children in her womb. She was still soft, forgetting the fact that other people were not as kind as she was. The system hoped that she would never have to learn that lesson the hard way again.
After her experience with the heartless Lin’s she ought to be sharper and more ruthless but she wasn’t.
"You should be careful, the universe is not as at peace as it looks and not all systems are not as harmless as you think. Weather boy was bad, but he was corrupted by his system.
Wukong had a good system but he himself was bad, filled with hatred, greed, envy and desires that could never be satisfied. In some cases, its a combination of a bad system and a bad host."
He raised a hand and tapped the tip of her nose with one chubby finger. "Do not be afraid of me, i am not a monster, i am the monster killer."
She raised her own hand and knocked on its head with her right hand knuckles.
"You dare to tease me! don’t think that i am satisfied with your answer. I know that there are many things you still haven’t told me but you have never harmed me or my family so i trust you. From now on however, i want an open door policy, whatever you are up to i want to know."
"Only if i am allowed to veto your no killing policy in case it is the last resort. I will not use your hands to do it so you don’t have to worry about having blood on your hands. We must pause this conversation as we have arrived at the spa, we can have the rest of it later."
It removed the sound barrier which it had put up to prevent others from listening to their conversation. Mafan then carried Majesty and stepped out of the car first.
Alix sighed as she watched him walk away, her mind filled with many thoughts that she didn’t want or need. She was the one that asked the system to deal with the bad guys so she could not point fingers and complain about how it was doing the job.
At the end of the day, it was protecting her from being discovered as the system eater. If weather boy and Wukong were allowed to walk away, she would be in danger. If she was in danger, so was her family.
She had to think about more than her conscience now. Alix touched her stomach and sighed loudly.
"Fruit! i have killed my own excited mood by over thinking."
Mafan was right, she should not be thinking about anything other than her wedding. It was a day for pampering and fun, not worries.
She stepped out of the car and Bi Cang closed the door for her. Third knife and twins were already waiting to circle around her.
She raised her head and looked up, seeing Maggie and another watcher flying by. Four other bodyguards from the hidden city were following inconspicuously. All together, she had a team of eight people following her. She felt like it was overkill but there was nothing to do, those six families were jumping up and down like frogs to get rid of her.
After the wedding, she would pay them all a visit, one by one. If they didn’t want peace, she would give them war. It had been so long since she set something on fire.
"Don’t think." she muttered.
She needed to get her body on a massaging table ASAP and down maybe eat a bowl of porridge. Some sea food congee seemed like a good idea. It was better than thoughts about what was to come after the wedding.
