The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 571: No refunds and no names.
Chapter 571: No refunds and no names.
In the hidden city, Caishen and the Tai’s had found somewhere to relax as they waited for Alix. It was in the revolving door restaurant in the city, on the fortieth floor of a building that had a view of the mystery forest in the city. They had not been allowed inside highly protected rooms where missions were monitored so they could only wait from for the result of the fight.
Caishen had assured them that Alix was fine, his own system could communicate with hers. This news reassured them and they waited with ease.
It was the first time the Tai’s were visiting the hidden city and with their hearts at ease they finally settled down and took in the sites.
There was a hologram screen on the wall showing one of the recent trending action movies but nobody was watching it. They were more interested in watching a video which depicted the different parts of the city, roads, forest, beaches, under water passages, marine life and more.
Both adults and children were mesmerized alike, one person however had a sour look on his face. It was none other than grandpa Tai.
He looked like he had just swallowed a bitter candy whose taste was lingering in his mouth.
"Grandpa, why do you look displeased?" Caishen asked him.
"Hmph, they took our money, billions of it and promised us benefits. Look at this place, they didn’t invite us over even once. If you had not brought us today because we are all worried about Alix who knows if we would ever see it?" He pointed a finger at the sky and shook it furiously. "We have been indoors for half of the lunar new year because of the rain but the sun is shining here."
His hands moved to the other families in the restaurant and those below, plus the ones waiting for flying transportation. His eyes moved in the direction of an amusement park in the city where humans, animals and machines were having a good time.
"Look at the people here, all of them are having a good time as if it’s summer. I have even seen the chairman of the Shen family and different members of their family scattered around, having fun like they are on vacation. How could the bureau eat our money and allow us to have a miserable holiday as they enjoyed themselves. Did someone tell them that our Tai family does not want to have a good time? I am so angry right now, i want a refund." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Refund!!! Everyone’s eyes widened or their hearts palpitations picked up speed. How could their family ask for a refund after seeing such a great city? Flying cars, alien space ships, beasts walking on two feet and dining like humans, talking robots walking in groups, celebrities, underwater adventures with marine life they had never seen. A winter wonderland that was somehow thriving despite a shining sun and many more miraculous sights.
This place was a marvel to behold and they did not want to loose access to it.
Tai Fong rushed to his grandfather’s side and patted his back. As if he was cooling down an over heated computer, he blew air from his mouth and fanned his grandfather’s face with his free hand.
"Aiya, our great and handsome grandpa, calm down. We didn’t know about the city, but now we do. No, we knew about the city, sister and brother-in-law mentioned it but we never came to take a look. The fault is ours, it will be a loss if we get a refund. Who will protect sister in the city if all of us lose access to it. I am sure she will bring Liwu here to play. Who will play with her if you demand a refund."
At the mention of his great granddaughter Liwu, the old man lost all thought of demanding for a refund.
"Look at those babies playing with snow men on the screen, grandpa, Liwu will enjoy that for sure." Chairman Tai Heng added.
Every time Liwu was mentioned, the old man’s eyes sparkled.
"They have a shop here that sells children’s dresses and accessories, I have heard sister mentioning shoes with wings and dancing flowers loved by bay girls, laser swords....." Auntie Mo felt her blood boiling with exciting as she mentioned the children’s toys which Alix had told her about.
Her words excited the children that had come with their group. The little master Xiaobo jumped out of the chair and started running to the nearest elevator.
"Uncle, hurry up, Xiaobo wants to go shopping."
The other Tai family children were on his heels, calling for their fathers, the keepers of the almighty bank card which could be swiped to make their dreams come true.
The teenage boys followed slowly, taking their time to walk and trying not to look as excited as the young ones.
Grandpa Tai cleared his throat and followed as well. "Well, we might as well all go and take a look at the dancing flowers. Liwu will love them in every color, do they come in a garden package, let us prepare a whole garden of dancing flowers for her."
"They cost two hundred thousand yuan per flower." Auntie Mo coughed out the price.
"Aah, so cheap, let us buy some land in the city somewhere and plant a field full of them. My Liwu can play with them and pluck as she wishes." Grandpa Tai didn’t even blink at the price.
"My Liwu!" Caishen exclaimed softly.
The old man was really claiming his daughter so openly and trying to outdo him as a father. A whole field of flowers would cost millions. They were not even real flowers, they were mechanical, basically children’s toys. Liwu didn’t need a whole field of artificial dancing flowers, real ones were better.
Caishen did not even realize that grandpa Tai had already won one battle in the grandfather vs father fight, the naming one. He had started calling to his potential daughter Liwu, a name the elder had picked out.
He had his own list of names in case his wife had a daughter or daughters: Xiuying meaning beautiful flower, Jiaying meaning beautiful and clever. Xingjuan meaning lucky and beautiful, Xifeng meaning flourishing phoenix, Shuchun meaning pure beauty. He even wanted for one of their daughters to be named Alix, after her mother. It was a great name that meant dignified.
Caishen’s list had only names for baby girls, the Tai spirit had possessed him, making him wish for soft cute daughters. Four girls and one boy did not sound like a bad deal to him.
His back was slapped lightly by Tai Change who sighed. "Brother-in-law, we are going to go broke shopping for Liwu."
"What happens if they are all Liwu, who will be the real Liwu?" Tai Fong asked.
If they were all girls, they surely wouldn’t have the same name. It was one thing to be born on the same day but to have the same name was exaggeration.
"Does your family only know the name Liwu?" he looked at the Tai brothers with light disdain.
Uncle Tai Bo was behind them and he answered the question. "We have never named girls before."
Caishen smirked and his lips moved up slightly, "You guys are lucky to have me. I have a list of names."
