It opened up slowly, releasing some smoke and making a fizzing sound like a soda that had just been opened. The inside of the container was bright allowing them to see the contents.

Inside were transparent test tubes and vials lined up from top to bottom and the liquids had different colors. She got the first one which was pink and looked at the label attached on it.

"Scent optimization liquid." she read.

She opened it, sniffed and smelled absolutely nothing so she passed it to Caishen.

"Do you smell anything?"

He shook his head and put the bottle to his nose again.

"There are more instructions Alix, it says one drop on the skin is enough to last for thirty days."

She took it from him, shrugged and poured what she judged with her eyes to be a drop of the pink liquid on the back of her left hand.

"Alix!" Caishen shouted sternly. He grabbed her hand and looked at the back with worry.

There was no burn mark or irritation which was a good sign but given that the liquid had disappeared into her skin, he couldn’t help worrying again.

"Are you okay? Do we need to go to a hospital?"

"I am fine." she replied casually.

Like a dog, she sniffed the air and smiled, finally coming to an understanding of what scent optimization did. She smelled her hands and laughed. The smell of apples from her perfume was coming from within her body now.

He reached into the container and got another liquid, a green one.

"Strength optimization liquid, this is very obvious." he put it down on the bed.

Alix already had another one in had, a red one. "Gene optimization liquid."

He reached for that one and she handed it to him. "Become a perfect physical specimen, one drop daily for thirty days." he read. Caishen’s lips frowned, turning upside down. "What exactly were those core things made of?"

She shook her head, genuinely confused as well. "I don’t know, we had to dig them out of the heads of the monsters and hand them in."

Caishen put down the gene optimization liquid but continued looking at it with deep thoughtful eyes. "You know how cows are slaughtered for beef, livers, tongue...."

Alix was opening the liquid and then she closed it.

"What are you thinking?"

He shook his head. "Nothing , the game is quite odd. What else is in there anyway?"

She got a blue liquid and raised it to her eyes, reading the writing on the vial. "Sexual enhancement optimization liquid." She turned it over and tilted her head, "Reach the heights of ecstasy with just one drop."

She shook it and giggled.

"Aah....a sexual stimulant." Caishen commented. It did not need much of an explanation, it was self explanatory. "I think these are drugs Alix, all of them. In my opinion, we should lock this up safely away and avoid touching it. This gene optimization, strength, speed, sexual prowess, mind enhancement, sense activation and the other liquids are dangerous. These are things that can be used in human evolution and can be dangerous if a bad person gets their hands on them."

Alix thought about the monsters that they had been hunting in the Broken rift, creatures that evolved and got super abilities, so Caishen’s use of the word evolution was not too far from what the liquids in the box could do.

Alix put the package in her bag, the only safe place she could trust in the whole world.

"I am sure Dark Death is already selling her own loot on her world." She sighed.

Another game on another world with more loot that she could not pull out and use openly. She looked at her phone and checked on the game and as usual, the fifth world which was next was closed and there was a timer counting down. It would be open in five days and for her this meant time to visit the first and second world. At least she would get some jewels from there.

She climbed onto the bed and snuggled against Caishen, relaxing completely as she closed her eyes. For a moment, she allowed herself to breathe and not think of anything. It would have been so easy for her to fall asleep easily were it not for the vibration of Caishen’s phone.

She opened her eyes and gave a deathly stare to the innocent but offensive phone. Every vibration was a loud scream saying, ’time to say goodbye.’

"It’s time for you to go, isn’t it?" she sighed sadly like she would not be seeing him the very next day.

"Aang is probably tired of me already, i have been the biggest user of his services lately. While the money is amazing, watching us love birds enjoy our time together has been a knife in his gut being twisted over and over." Caishen chuckled and got up. "Those are his words, not mine."

Unwillingly, Alix let go of him and righted herself and gave him space to get up and rearrange himself. He kissed her on the cheek, the forehead and then the mouth.

"I love you."

"Mmm, i love you too. See you in a few hours, ten to twelve."

An hour later, she was on a plane flying back home and he was in his office, back to work while yawning. International dates were a lot more exhausting in reality due to the time difference but they were worth it however. Seeing the joy in Alix’s eyes as they spent time alone, just the two of them made it worth it.

He was reminiscing when the door to his office was pushed open and Biming burst in with a smile and booming voice.
