At the end of the day, Alix received her dress for Zhang Bo’s inauguration and tried it on in her office. Jenny, Jin Kang and the dressmaker were there in person offering assistance in any way she needed and pulling up the zipper for her.

While Jenny was assisting her with the zipper, she came to a realization that Caishen had been right about her needing a female personal assistant.

She also made a light realization that she never liked dresses with zippers before because she couldn’t zip up some by herself often in the past.

Her eyes moved to her left hand and she smiled. It was so easy to take normal human functions for granted when you had them.

"It’s perfect, director." Jenny said.

Alix didn’t have a mirror in her face so she relied on others to pass judgement. She had opted for a formal gown, white in color and off shoulder. It was free flowing from the waist down.

One of her reasons for choosing a white dress was because the last time most of the people attending the inauguration of Zhang Bo had seen her was at the wedding and she had not exactly stunned anyone back then. This was a do over for her.

"Do you think so?" she turned from side to side. "Is it too open for a formal ceremony?" she asked unsurely.

"It’s perfect." Jin Kang told her. "I will be wearing a black dress since you are going to put anyone else in white to shame."

She got her phone and snapped a picture of Alix. Then, she handed the phone to her and said, "Look at yourself miss gorgeous in white. What kind of shoes are you going to wear? Don’t do white shoes, you are not a bride." freewebnoveℓ.com

"There is nothing wrong with white shoes." Jenny said. She looked at the dressmaker and said, "Right? White shoes would match the outfit quite well."

The dress maker smiled brightly and replied, "You look good in everything young madam. Any shoe that you decide to match to the dress will be perfect i am sure."

She couldn’t have been anymore obvious about the fact that she was kissing Alix’s ass and being careful with her words.

Part of this was because Alix was Zhang Caishen’s wife, a wealthy client that would return if she appreciated their services. Another reason was because she sometimes made dresses for Zhang An and that little miss had quite the temper. So, if it was anything related to the Zhang’s she had to be extra careful.

"I haven’t chosen any shoes yet." Alix mumbled. She looked at her toes that were peeking out from beneath the dress and wiggled them. "I don’t know, i will just wear anything. Help me take this off, i have somewhere to be in a hurry."

Jenny and the dress maker beat Jin Kang to it. Within a minute, the dress was back in the box and Alix in her clothes.

Alix picked up her bag and threw in the things she wanted to go home with. She noticed that her friend had not made a single effort to move. "It’s coming to seven Jin Jin, go home."

"I have a date." Jin Kang said, with a bored expression on her face.

"Mr. Du Fuzi or someone else?" She asked.

The dress maker was still in the office, putting the box inside a different box in which the dress had been delivered. She raised her head curiously when she heard Du Fuzi being mentioned.

"I am....." Jin Kang replied but she had to stop because someone cut her off loudly.

Majesty was the one complaining. The cat was perched on the armrest of one of the sofas, watching the women with a bored expression in his eyes.

"This human woman is listening like a thief Alix." It reported.

Alix looked at the dress maker and the woman diverted her eyes quickly. Still, if they continued discussing Du Fuzi, her ears would be wide open.

She shook her head at her friend. "Tell me later Jin Kang. I am in a hurry right now."

Jin Kang stepped out first, and the dress maker followed. The box with the dress was handed over to Bi Cang who carried it all the way to the car.

Alix waved goodbye to Jenny and entered the car. Immediately, she told the driver, "Uncle Ju, drop me off at the Mandarin tower hotel. I have something to pick up from there."

"Yes young madam." he answered.

When he set off, she dialed Meifen’s number. All day, she had not seen the woman as expected. The call was answered quickly.

Meifen sounded tired when she answered. "Director.."

"Meifen, i have been looking for you all day. I heard that you wanted to see me urgently yesterday."

"Director.." She said.

Alix shook her head. "I told you not to call me that. I am Yuewei’s sister, you should call me Alix."

"Yes miss." Meifen answered.

Alix decided not to bother with that. Meifen could refer to her in any way she wanted that made her comfortable.

"I received a lawyer’s letter like you suspected. It was delivered to my new place yesterday. I don’t know how he found me so fast." Meifen rushed to tell Alix.

"He is a man with resources, eventually he would have found you. Don’t worry about any legal affairs, we will handle it. I will never let them get their hands on Yuewei." Alix assured her.

She had been expecting Lin Qianfan to find them given a little time. Unless they changed their identities and left the country, it would be hard to escape him.

She hung up and closed her eyes. It was night time, everyone was getting off work so she anticipated a little traffic on the way to the hotel. She wanted to catch a few minutes of rest before arriving. Unfortunately, the system would not let her.

"What’s your plan when you get there?" It asked her.
