The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 231: New anniversary?
About forty minutes later, both of them were done with their meal and no one had any left overs. Alix was quite proud of herself for bringing Caishen to this place. For all his talk about palates and food not being something to die for, he had cleared his plate quite astonishingly.

He dabbed at the corners of his mouth with a wet wipe from one of the ones that he always carried with him. He did it so elegantly, in a refined manner. It made Alix think of a refined scholar from the ancient days, like actors portrayed in dramas.
He wiped his hands as well, and then asked for her hands, intending to wipe them too. As usual, she didn't deny his request. While he did that, she couldn't help asking a question that was bubbling in her throat, eager to escape.
"So, what do you think? Was it to die for?"
"Well, it is quite something." He answered through gritted teeth.
He seemed to be unwilling to admit that it was a ravenous meal that had satisfied him greatly. His very picky tongue had enjoyed every morsel.
"Oh, you loved it." she watched him and giggled. "Why can't you just admit to it? I don't mind if you say that you did. In fact, this place can become our special place. We can come here once every month to commemorate something."
That was her suggestion but what would they commemorate?
"What though? Is there something for the both of us to celebrate?"
Since she seemed to be serious about it and she was giving it some thought, he decided to do the same as well. Caishen convinced himself that he was simply humoring her.
"Mmm, two months wedding anniversary." he suggested. "Instead of the actual chaotic day on which we got married, we can celebrate this day instead. This way, we detach ourselves from the ugliness of that day."
For them both, everything about that day was not positively memorable, especially for Alix. The ill fitting wedding dress, shoes, the ring. Everything from that day, he had seen Alix setting on fire on their balcony one evening.
She even dumped the ring which had been meant for Lin Billi in there, even tough it didn't melt. He wanted to suggest that she sell it but she needed to vent so he kept his mouth shut and watched her waste her efforts on burning a ring that his mother purchased for two and a half million.
The waitress came by and cleared everything away.
Caishen, asked her when the waitress left, "So, what do you think?"
He was trying hard not to look expectant, eyes darting from side to side and his lips twisting as he tried to appear uninterested in her answer.
"Aah, he is so adorable." she thought.
A part of her felt stupidly giddy and excited. This reaction from him was a small monumental victory for her. It was his suggestion after all, not hers. To her, this was a sign that he was taking their marriage as seriously as she was doing.
She held on to one of his hands before he could let go of her to put the tissue aside.
With a beautiful smile on her face, she nodded. "Let's do it. This moment right here is a good one. Let's assume that the delicious big breakfast we just had was us taking our wedding vows. This moment right here, with just the two of us, untouched by anything and anyone, it's our special bubble."
He smiled and nodded.
As she pulled her arm back with the intention of raising it to ask for the bill, he tugged it back and shook his head.
She looked at him and raised her eyebrows.
"You have to say the words."
"Mmm?" she responded.
"We said the vows but I have to hear your response and you have to hear mine." he told her.
He looked into those intoxicating eyes of hers and he smiled. Perhaps this was foolish or maybe an odd thing to do in this small establishment but the moment felt strangely right. In this moment, both of them were happy. After having words with Zhang Bo and dealing with their past, he had decided not to deny himself happiness as it came. No more living in the past as if his time was frozen.
Alix tugged on his hand, drawing him out of his thoughts.
She nodded and said in a small voice. "Mmm, I do."
He laughed softly and said, "I do too."
She said firmly, "So, this makes it our anniversary then, November second. I am going to mark it in on my phone calendar so that I don't forget it."
She got her phone out of her bag and saw that she had twelve unanswered texts, four were from Zhang An.
When he saw what she was doing, he did the same and made plans to surprise with a few more things later. An anniversary was celebrated with gifts, flowers, and other nice things. As the husband, it was only right that he do this for her__, them. A good marriage was not just for her sake but his too.
Alix looked up and told him, "Na Na was arrested outside your mother's company. I guess your sister followed my advise and called the police after all imstead of initiating a physical fight."
"Hmph, so that girl knows not to blow things up and make the issue bigger." he replied. He looked at her phone and a crease formed between his eyebrows. "You are still using that phone even though I keep telling you to get a new one."
"I haven't had time to change it." she answered, unbothered.
Just like that, he knew what gift to get her and he sent a text to Biming.
"Mmm, my aunt is going to the police station later and she wants me to accompany her as a witness. It's that thing with my....that woman, Jing Hee."
He grinned and looked down. Their new wedding day was just as chaotic as the first one only this time, they were not taking direct bullets.
"Mmm, your sister, Lexian. I am supposed to meet her but I forgot. She has left me two texts and two missed calls." In a hurry, Alix got to her feet. "Hubby, I have to go and meet aunt Sen in the back real quickly, just thirty seconds and then we can leave."
She took off while yelling back, "Thirty seconds, hubby, I will be back."
He was left behind wondering what she was going to do in the back and why she needed her bag. Also, why was Lexian calling his wife?
