Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Beware of This Beastman

Corbin Crowley was choked by her words, his face growing even darker, and he grumbled, "Even eating can’t shut your mouth, why so much talking?"

Luna Sutton took another bite of the roast, thinking to herself that, to be fair, the dog man’s cooking wasn’t bad at all. It was fragrant and crispy, tender on the inside, and particularly delicious.

Upon hearing his words, she retorted discontentedly, "I’m just curious, alright? Someone’s attitude changed so fast; could it be that after a nap, you suddenly found your conscience, realized how terribly you treated me before, and now you’re trying to make up for it?"

She said this while glancing at Corbin, deliberately putting on a deep-thinking expression, as if she was seriously considering the question.

Corbin was so angered by her words that he nearly coughed up blood. This chubby woman sure knows how to poke an open wound, making it sound like he’s some sort of lustful creep.

His face was as black as a pot bottom, yet his earlobes were faintly red. He shot her a fierce glare, turned around, and marched off.

It seemed that if he stayed another second, he’d explode in anger right then and there.

Watching his flustered back, she couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

This dog man was usually overbearing, cool, and arrogant, always looking down from above. Who would’ve thought he had such a cute side?

Meanwhile, Corbin, who had already walked some distance, suddenly remembered something, paused, and without turning back, said coldly, "Stay in the cave honestly for the next few days; don’t go to the salt-drying field. The scent coming from you might distract the Beastmen from their work."

Luna raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, lowered her head, and sniffed herself, but didn’t notice any particular odor.

However, since the dog man said so, it must be true. Last night, the system also mentioned that she was in her heat period and would emit a special scent that was particularly attractive to males.

Except, she couldn’t smell this special scent herself.

"Oh~ so that’s how it is..."

She deliberately dragged out her tone, raised her eyes to look at Corbin’s dark face, and teased, "Corbin, are you worried about me? Afraid that my alluring scent will make those Beastmen lose focus, unable to control themselves? Or because I’m your mate, your possessiveness is acting up, not wanting other Beastmen to come near at this time?"

Upon hearing her words, Corbin stumbled, almost losing his balance, looking more embarrassed than ever.

He quickly turned around, glaring at her fiercely, and said with a dark face, "Who’s worried about you? Stop flattering yourself. If you’re not afraid of those Beastmen all pouncing on you, go ahead, I won’t stop you."

At this point, he gave her a look up and down with contempt and said, "Or maybe you’re just hoping for it, wishing all those Beastmen would pounce on you?"

The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. This chubby woman was quite a flirt; last night, she took advantage of her heat to seduce him, fainting in the end, yet she still wasn’t satisfied.

Who would have thought her physical stamina was poor, but her appetite so large?

Luna watched his expression of "you’re such a flirt" with contempt creeping into his eyes, and her lips twitched.

Is that even human language?

What does it mean that she desires this, hoping all the Beastmen would pounce on her?

He made it sound like she hadn’t seen a man in eight hundred years.

If they all pounced, would she even have a life left?

With a black face, she shouted, "What nonsense are you talking? How could I possibly want that?"

The tone was full of strong dissatisfaction.

Corbin let out a sneer, but his gaze clearly showed disbelief. Coldly, he tossed out a sentence, "If not, then stay in the cave obediently."

Then he turned and walked away.

Luna watched his retreating figure, pouted, and secretly cursed the dog man a thousand times in her heart.

Then she continued gnawing on the roast in her hand.

Suddenly recalling something, she quickly chased after Corbin, hurriedly saying, "Hey, don’t walk so fast, let me ask you, last night... um, my underwear is missing, did you see it?"

Corbin paused, his body clearly stiffening, his ear tips faintly red, but he didn’t turn to look at her, and replied irritably, "I don’t know, find it yourself!"

Having said that, he strode away, his direction towards the salt-drying field.

Luna was infuriated, glaring at his disappearing figure, wishing she could poke a few holes in his back, "What kind of attitude is that, can’t even ask a question?"

Truly a dog man, last night he was practically ready to swallow her whole, today he’s acting like nothing happened, not even admitting to seeing her underwear.

She sighed, thought of the little forest where they stayed last night, and went off to search there. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

She found the items after all.

But they were so torn up, beyond repair.

This dog man wasn’t just rough; when she gets back, she’d have to make him compensate with a few pieces of quality Beastman hide, otherwise, it would be a loss.

The torn underwear on the ground, she didn’t bother picking up, and turned back to the cave.

Returning to the cave, Luna had nothing to do, feeling utterly bored.

She had slept for so long last night, she couldn’t fall asleep now.

Right now, everyone was at the salt-drying field, they had been taught the process, so there was no need for her to worry.

However, it seemed that there weren’t enough empty backpacks and woven baskets at the salt-drying field.

She made backpacks and woven baskets as needed, making a few at a time.

Thinking that they didn’t know how to make these things.

She got up and left the cave, gathering some suitable vines nearby and returned.

She stripped the extra branches and leaves and sat on the ground, beginning to weave.

She was very skillful, and in a short time, she had finished one, exquisite, sturdy, and durable, able to bear weight with no problem.

Then she continued weaving.

One backpack after another, woven baskets gradually took shape in her hands, and in less than half an hour, she had made several, randomly placing them in the cave.

At this moment, a rustling noise came from the cave entrance, clearly indicating someone or something approaching.

She looked toward the cave entrance, puzzled.

Corbin and the others were all drying salt, who would come over at this noontime?

Could it be that there wasn’t enough backpacks and woven baskets, and the dog man came back looking for her to make more?

But then again, it didn’t seem right, Corbin’s footsteps were very heavy, he would return openly.

And not sneakily like now, hesitant to show up.

Luna frowned deeply, realizing that she was currently in her heat period, fearing that her scent had attracted some male creature.

Thinking this, she grew frightened, her expression turning vigilant as she stared at the cave entrance, instantly summoning vines from her palms, ready to lash out.

Thinking when something came in, she’d hit it hard.

The rustling sound at the entrance was getting bigger and bigger.

She kept a close watch on the entrance, the vines in her hands poised to strike at any moment.

Suddenly, a tall figure appeared at the entrance, it was Warwick Storm.

They locked eyes, both stunned.

Warwick had been waiting by the cliff for several days with no signs of life.

Unable to stand it any longer, he couldn’t help but come down to take a look.

Unexpectedly, following the Umbraflow River to this place, he smelled a special scent, thinking it was some female beast in heat, but it turned out to be Luna Sutton.

Luna was also startled to see Warwick; she wasn’t very familiar with him, but knew he was a Beastman of the tribe.

This time it seemed he came out with Corbin to track down Quinn Morgan and Finn Arcanus.

However, yesterday when Finn and the other Beastmen joined up with Corbin, Warwick wasn’t among them.

She thought they’d gotten separated or he hadn’t been found yet.

She still didn’t know it was Warwick who had caused them to fall off the cliff.

Seeing Warwick now, Luna breathed a sigh of relief, retracting the vines in her hand.

Just as she was about to greet him, a system warning sounded in her mind, "Host, be careful of this Beastman, he’s the one who caused Corbin to fall off the cliff."

Her heart skipped a beat, and she became wary, looking at Warwick with vigilance, her palms once again sprouting vines.

Although she didn’t know why Warwick would harm Corbin, the system was definitely right.

Although this system was sometimes a pain, it was quite reliable at critical moments.
