The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 71: Triggering a Hidden Quest
Though he felt a sense of sentimentality in his heart, he didn’t forget the matter at hand and reminded, "We should hurry; if Father discovers us, you might not be able to leave."
Upon hearing his words, Quinn Morgan broke out in a cold sweat and held Warwick Storm’s hand tighter, looking at him and urging nervously, "Warwick, Meryl is right, that old man is very formidable, let’s hurry up and leave."
Warwick knew the situation was urgent, and didn’t dare delay. He looked at Mason Sutton and said solemnly, "Thank you for this time. If you need anything in the future, just come to The Raging Lion Tribe to find me."
Mason Sutton just stared at him and simply said, "Treat my Matron well. If I find out you’ve betrayed her or treated her poorly, don’t blame me for being unforgiving."
After speaking, he gave a deep look at Quinn Morgan before turning around and disappearing into the dark forest.
Upon seeing Mason Sutton leave, a flash of white light surrounded Warwick Storm, transforming him into a tall Golden Lion, majestic and striking in the darkness of the night.
Quinn Morgan endured the pain and climbed up to sit on him.
Warwick leaped, carrying Quinn Morgan and disappeared into the Moonlight Forest, heading towards the direction of The Raging Lion Tribe.
...
Meanwhile, Luna Sutton was sleeping soundly on the stone bed in the cave.
Suddenly, she was startled awake by a sharp howl of wolves, completely shaking off her drowsiness and becoming fully awake.
She cursed softly: Who is so inconsiderate, howling like a wolf in the middle of the night? Are people not allowed to sleep?
She lifted the blanket, got out of the stone bed, walked to the mouth of the cave, and just moved the door panel that blocked the cave entrance.
She was shocked by the scene she saw outside the cave.
What did she see? She saw the entire tribe’s beastmen transforming into their true forms, all rushing out of the tribe together, creating a spectacular scene.
Splitting into different directions.
"The leader orders, don’t let Quinn Morgan escape, be sure to bring her back..."
The howling of wolves rose and fell, making Luna Sutton’s ears buzz.
It wasn’t until the beastmen left that the sound gradually faded away.
She raised her hand to rub her buzzing ears, her delicate brows slightly furrowed.
With such a commotion, she didn’t even need to think to understand that Quinn Morgan was likely rescued from the dungeon by Mason Sutton, and had probably already escaped with that lover from The Raging Lion Tribe.
She clicked her tongue twice, thinking Quinn Morgan was really as selfish as always.
Now that she’s escaped, has she thought about the consequences Mason Sutton, as her son, might face for letting her go privately?
However, judging by Quinn Morgan’s selfish nature, she probably wouldn’t think that much, after all, she has many sons.
Luna Sutton’s eyes showed a hint of pity; Mason Sutton was indeed brave, surely he would not escape a harsh punishment from Father this time.
Thinking there was no sleepiness left in her, she was about to go out for a look.
She had just taken a couple of steps.
Suddenly, the system’s voice echoed in her mind, [Ding, hidden task two triggered, assist Quinn Morgan in successfully escaping, task completion, reward of three iron tools, task time limit, three days.]
Luna Sutton: "..."
She seriously doubted the system was deliberately messing with her, as Quinn Morgan would probably love to kill her right now, and yet the system wants her to help Quinn Morgan escape?
"System, are you trying to shorten my lifespan? I reported Quinn Morgan’s affair to Father, she probably wants to tear me apart, and you want me to move closer to her?"
She squinted her eyes, expressing her dissatisfaction to the system.
The system seemed to sense her dissatisfaction and complaints, and explained calmly, "Host, this task is not without reason. No matter how bad Quinn Morgan is, or how many mistakes she’s made, she is still your body’s mother. If she were to die because of you, it would negatively affect your fortune."
Listening to the system’s explanation, Luna Sutton chuckled coldly.
The dog system was really talking nonsense, saying Quinn Morgan’s death would affect her fortune. It simply wanted to force her to save Quinn Morgan.
"It’s easy for you to say, but if I approach now, given how much Quinn Morgan hates me, she would definitely have Warwick kill me. Aren’t you playing with my life?"
She expressed her dissatisfaction internally.
The system sensed her displeasure and explained, "Host, I understand your feelings and your situation. I am aware of Quinn Morgan’s deep hostility toward you, but due to the mother-daughter relationship you share, your destinies are closely linked. If Quinn Morgan were to die because of you, the resultant karma would negatively affect the host."
"Moreover, I’m not suggesting you approach directly; there are many ways to help her escape."
The system explained softly again.
Luna Sutton was feeling frustrated, "Even if I don’t approach now, what about next time? Do I have to rescue her endlessly just because we’re mother and daughter?"
"It’s not like that; it simply means that Quinn Morgan cannot die because of the host. If she were to die for other reasons or by someone else’s hand, it wouldn’t concern the host."
The system explained patiently once more.
Upon hearing this, Luna Sutton’s expression softened somewhat.
She knew the system might have a reason for its explanation.
Although she disliked Quinn Morgan, she couldn’t allow her fortune to be affected.
"Alright, I accept this task."
After a moment of silence, she finally conceded, "How should I help? By now, Warwick should have already taken Quinn Morgan away, right?"
The system breathed a sigh of relief seeing her agree and said hurriedly, "Lyle Sutton, upon discovering Mason Sutton released Quinn Morgan, flew into a thunderous rage and first gave Mason Sutton a severe beating. After that, he quickly dispatched the tribe’s beastmen to pursue them."
After a pause, it continued, "Corbin Crowley happened to be in charge of the direction toward The Raging Lion Tribe. You just need to stop him or distract him at the right time to prevent him from finding Warwick and Quinn Morgan."
Luna Sutton was not surprised to hear about Mason Sutton’s beating and quickly asked, "System, has Corbin Crowley left yet?"
If he had already left, not even having eight legs could help her catch up.
"Corbin Crowley is currently at the Tribal Square, about to depart. If the host hurries, you should be able to catch up."
The system urged again.
Hearing this, Luna Sutton suddenly panicked.
Not caring about anything else, she sprinted towards the Tribal Square.
Having recently succeeded in slimming down, her speed was not slow.
She soon arrived at the Tribal Square.
At this time, many beastmen had already gathered here, divided into different teams, each with ten beastmen and a team leader.
Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus each led a team responsible for searching in different directions.
Most had already transformed into their true forms, clearly about to depart.
Everyone was amazed to see Luna Sutton appear, not understanding why she was coming around in the middle of the night.
Realizing that the escaping Quinn Morgan was her mother, they felt enlightened.
Luna Sutton ignored the beastmen’s surprised looks around her and directly focused on Corbin Crowley, who had already transformed.
A mighty silver giant wolf, with a towering and fierce presence, stood three meters tall, its fur snowy white, gleaming under the bright moonlight with a charming silver luster.
A pair of long, narrow wolf eyes were a cold silver, radiating sharpness.
Having already ridden once, she didn’t feel afraid and walked directly over, climbing onto his back to sit.
If that jerk dared throw her off or refuse to take her, he could forget about enjoying her cooking next time.
Corbin Crowley felt the weight on his back and was momentarily dumbfounded, his wolf eyes showing anger.
Though his favorability towards this fat woman had risen recently, it was not a reason for her to casually climb onto his back.
He was just about to get angry and throw her off when he heard a soft but righteous female voice from his back, "You’re going to chase my mother, right? I want to go too, take me with you."
Corbin Crowley: "..."
He was speechless, not understanding where this fat woman got her audacity and courage to make such a presumptuous request?
Thinking he had just enjoyed a sumptuous meal she cooked that night...
Ultimately, he suppressed his displeasure and didn’t throw her off, only saying coldly, "Get down."
