The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 51: The Beast God Manifests
She wanted to remind Lyle, but thinking that Quinn Morgan was, after all, the matron of this body, even if she wasn’t good to the original owner, there was no need to push things to the extreme.
It would be better to let Quinn Morgan leave The Wolf Tribe and live in another tribe.
Once she’s gone, there would be peace and quiet for her.
But in doing so, Father might get even angrier.
Luna Sutton sighed lightly in her heart, feeling very conflicted, unsure if she should remind him.
But she didn’t just stand there, she was about to return.
Then Kian Sterling came over, his gaze gentle, and he softly comforted, "Are you okay?"
Earlier, seeing her looking conflicted, he thought that even though Quinn Morgan was not good to her, she was still her matron. With such a thing happening, she probably felt bad, so he came over to offer a few comforting words.
She looked up at Kian Sterling, meeting those gentle eyes. If she hadn’t known his affection level was only zero, she might have thought he liked her.
She smiled slightly, "I’m fine."
She had known all along, and it was she who had secretly informed Lyle, prompting him to investigate, so she naturally wouldn’t be sad.
Nor would she plead for Quinn Morgan.
Seeing that she truly didn’t seem bothered, Kian Sterling felt relieved, "As long as you’re okay."
Luna Sutton looked at him, her heart stirred slightly, but her face showed nothing as she smiled and said, "Thank you."
No matter the reason he came to comfort her, it was right to express gratitude.
"No need to be so polite, after all, you’re my partner."
Kian Sterling looked at her, his gaze gentle and expression earnest.
Her smile deepened, "You’re right."
Regardless of whether Kian Sterling liked her or not, they were partners, a legitimate couple.
Being too polite would seem estranged.
However, this also indirectly proved a change in how Kian Sterling viewed her.
If it were the original owner, Kian Sterling would never have said such words, wishing instead to avoid her as much as possible.
Watching her smile, Kian Sterling felt a slight stirring in his heart.
Was it an illusion, or was it just too dark at night?
It seemed like her mouth had gotten smaller, and her buck teeth weren’t as prominent, making her look much better than before.
He smiled faintly, saying warmly, "Let me walk you back."
Luna Sutton was surprised, not expecting this man to proactively suggest walking her back.
With curved eyes and a good mood, she didn’t refuse, "Alright."
Such a good opportunity to build a relationship with the male lead number 3, only a fool would turn it down.
The two of them left with the crowd, disappearing into the night.
The Beastmen and females in the tribe saw the two walking together, all with surprised faces.
Luna Sutton used to have such a terrible reputation, even if she’d changed a lot recently and awakened her powers, it couldn’t completely overturn her inherent image in their minds.
Lazy, gluttonous, ugly, vicious, and extremely foolish, she was considered the cream of the crop of the tribe.
If her father weren’t the leader, she would have been driven out long ago.
Everyone knew how much Kian Sterling used to dislike Luna Sutton, only caring for her out of obligation.
Seeing the two walking together now, the male was handsome, and she... well, she wasn’t too ugly either, they didn’t seem that mismatched.
Especially Luna Sutton, not only had that disgusting belly fat disappeared, but her buck teeth weren’t too obvious, and her mouth had gotten smaller, she looked much more pleasing to the eye.
But overall, she was still fatter than other females.
Luna Sutton wasn’t aware of what these Beastmen thought, and even if she knew, she wouldn’t care.
Corbin Crowley watched the two leaving side by side, his brows furrowed, eyes deep, pondering something.
Then he withdrew his gaze and turned to leave.
Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus also noticed Luna Sutton and Kian Sterling leaving together, showing a bit of surprise in their expressions.
But they said nothing, each going their separate ways, returning to their caves to rest.
Meanwhile, Luna Sutton and Kian Sterling walked side by side on the path back. The night shrouded them in a mysterious glow.
Kian Sterling, a gentle and refined male, exhibited an air of composure and poise in his demeanor and gestures.
Quite different from the Beastmen she had previously encountered.
"Kian, did you really dislike me in the past?"
She turned her head slightly to look at the man beside her, suddenly asking.
Even though she already knew the answer, she still wanted to hear it from Kian Sterling himself.
Kian Sterling was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting her to ask so directly.
He was silent for a moment.
Only then did he slowly say, "Yes, I really disliked you before. Your behavior was unbearable, but..."
"But now you don’t dislike me, right?"
She continued, smilingly looking at the man by her side.
Kian Sterling nodded, a hint of appreciation flashing in his eyes, "You’ve changed a lot recently, making people see you in a new light."
He paused, then continued, "I’m curious, how did you suddenly know so much? First, you awakened your powers, then you wove baskets, distinguished toxic mushrooms, and now you can cook delicious food like a gourmet, and your personality has improved a lot. It’s like you’re a completely different person from before."
He stopped in his tracks, looking at her seriously, seemingly wanting an answer.
These questions he’d wanted to ask for a long time but had been hesitant to voice.
Taking this opportunity, he asked them all at once.
Luna Sutton met his probing eyes, a twinkle in her own, and stopped in her tracks.
After considering, she fabricated a story, "Awakening my powers was purely an accident, even I don’t know how it happened. But in the three days after, I had a lot of strange dreams. Everything I know was taught by an old man with a white beard in my dreams."
"An old man with a white beard?" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Kian Sterling frowned, full of confusion.
She nodded slightly, putting on a serious expression, "Yes, that old man said he was The Beast God. He saw that I awakened my powers and had potential, so he didn’t want me to go astray. That’s why he taught me these things in my dreams so that I could lead the Beastmen of the tribe to a better life."
She lied without a blush, her face calm, yet her heart was a mess, fearing Kian wouldn’t believe her.
Fortunately, in this world where belief in The Beast God was unwavering, her words didn’t seem abrupt at all.
Hearing this, Kian Sterling’s face indeed showed no skepticism. His gaze on her had changed, carrying a bit of curiosity and scrutiny, "The Beast God himself taught you in a dream?"
Luna Sutton suppressed a laugh and nodded earnestly, "Absolutely true."
Seemingly afraid Kian wouldn’t believe, she added, "If you don’t believe it, you can check."
Her Wood Element Ability was from the apocalypse, having nothing to do with The Beast God, pure fabrication. But it served well to deceive Kian.
She didn’t fear Kian checking it out; where could he verify it? Could he time-travel to the apocalypse era to investigate?
Of course not.
Kian Sterling hadn’t really intended to check, not that he had any means to do so. Moreover, seeing her candid gaze, he did believe somewhat.
After all, it’s impossible for a person to suddenly know so much.
The former Luna Sutton was lazy, gluttonous, and bad, knowing nothing whatsoever, certainly not capable of so much knowledge.
The only explanation was that The Beast God had manifested, allowing her to understand so much.
With this thought, he felt a sense of relief.
"If so, it’s your blessing indeed.."
He smiled faintly, no longer dwelling on the matter.
Luna Sutton secretly sighed in relief, grateful to The Beast God tale for providing an explanation that would have been hard to give otherwise.
She looked at Kian Sterling, a smile spreading on her lips, and tentatively asked, "Kian, do you... like the current me?"
