The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 50: Dying with Eyes Open
"Ah—"
Aidan Veridian let out a miserable scream, feeling as if his chest was crushed by a massive boulder, the pain almost causing him to faint.
He stared angrily at Mason Sutton, wishing he could immediately transform into a wolf and pounce to take a vicious bite, his eyes filled with venomous hatred.
"What are you, to demean my father?"
Mason Sutton said coldly.
Looking at his resentful and venomous gaze, the curve of his mouth grew increasingly cruel, and he pressed down harder with his foot.
"Ah—"
Aidan only felt the pain in his chest grow more intense and unbearable, as if his heart was about to be crushed, letting out another heart-wrenching scream, his face pale with pain, trembling all over.
"What do you want?"
Trapped under his foot, Aidan felt waves of sharp pain in his chest, feeling as if his ribs were breaking, his heart on the verge of bursting.
Terror filled his eyes, his earlier manic arrogance replaced with fear and regret.
He had merely sought a moment’s quick victory in words, to disgust Lyle Sutton and vent his rage.
Imagining that as the leader, Lyle would consider his image and not stoop to attack.
Little did he know Mason Sutton would step up, acting in Lyle’s stead.
"What do I want? What do you think?"
Mason Sutton’s mouth curved into a cruel, bloodthirsty smirk, pressing down harder with his foot.
"Ah—"
Aidan screamed continuously, feeling as if his heart would truly burst, his face twisted in pain, shaking uncontrollably.
The sisters Mia and Maya Miller were already scared stiff, trembling on the ground, not daring to raise their heads, fearing Mason would lash out at them with a punch or kick.
Though they pitied Aidan, they feared being dragged into the situation even more.
Not to mention Maya’s already faint feelings for Aidan, even Mia didn’t dare to speak, helplessly watching Aidan suffer, tears streaming down her face.
But remembering Aidan’s past affection for her, she couldn’t stand it. Unable to speak, she desperately signaled to her seven beast husbands.
The meaning was quite clear.
Wolf Fang saw Mia’s desperate signals, understanding it well but dared not intervene.
Looking everywhere but Mia.
The other six beast husbands were much the same, knowing whoever spoke up now was courting death.
The leader might not say anything, but would surely remember, causing trouble later.
Whether Mia would be angry was another issue, they’d have to find a way to console her later.
Mia watched her beast husbands’ attitudes, face turning ashen with anger, cursing them useless.
Giving up on expecting anything from them.
The surrounding females were also quite frightened, stepping back to avoid any calamity.
Some were so timid they covered their eyes, not daring to look.
The priest and the witch doctor exchanged a glance, seeing resignation mirrored in each other’s eyes.
There was little they could say in such matters.
Cynthia frowned, realizing that while Mason was avenging his father, this might tarnish his reputation with brutality.
Mason, being his father’s only son, was by tradition the next leader of The Wolf Tribe, but this was not a certainty.
It depended on personal strength and the tribe’s support; lacking those meant becoming the next leader was difficult.
She wanted to caution him but feared misunderstanding by Lyle, so remained silent.
Corbin Crowley watched Mason somberly, deep in thought.
Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, Malachi Arcanus—they all had their own thoughts, known only to themselves.
"Ah, Mason, I know I’m wrong, please let me go, or at least give me a quick end..."
Aidan could not endure anymore, begging for mercy.
Better a swift end than this torturous suffering.
Mason halted, bending slightly, looked at him with a half-smile, "Let you go? Or give you a quick end? Weren’t you rather cocky earlier? What’s this? Are you afraid now?"
Aidan shivered at his smirk, quickly saying, "I just spoke rashly for the moment, and regretted immediately afterward, truly."
"Hah..."
Mason sneered, pressing down harder with his foot, voice icy, "If that’s the case, then as you wish."
With that, he abruptly exerted force, and with a "bang,"
Aidan’s heart was completely crushed, blood spurting from his mouth, his complexion growing whiter, the light quickly fading from his eyes.
He stared unblinking at Mason, unwilling to die.
Mason watched until he drew his last breath before stepping back, looking down coolly at his corpse.
To seduce his Matron, cuckold his father, and shamelessly enjoy his father’s possessions was indeed courting death.
The surrounding beastmen viewed Aidan’s corpse with dread, afraid to even breathe heavily.
Looking at Lyle, their eyes now held a greater measure of awe.
This leader’s son appeared even more ruthless, though his strength didn’t match yet.
However, Mason was still young, with ample room to grow.
Mia gazed at Aidan’s corpse, overcome with sadness, stifling her cries to soft sobbing.
Though Maya didn’t deeply care for Aidan, he was still her father, and watching him die so gruesomely pained her greatly.
She genuinely shed tears.
What baffled her was why her father would act so recklessly when his strength was lacking compared to the leader.
"Dispose of the body outside the tribe."
Mason said flatly.
He walked to Lyle, stopping in front of him.
Immediately, beastmen approached, dragging Aidan’s body away, vanishing into the night.
Lyle gazed deeply at his son, saying nothing.
Though generally confident in him, he was not quite satisfied.
Compared to the likes of Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus, it was natural to be dissatisfied.
Still, today’s actions met his expectations, venting his anger well.
A credit to being his son.
"Father, about Matron..."
Mason ventured carefully.
Despite her betrayal, he didn’t want his father to execute her.
She was still his Matron, after all.
Lyle’s face darkened at the mention, his presence turning icy.
Thinking of Quinn Morgan’s actions, he yearned to rush and strangle her in the dungeon.
"Don’t mention that vile female to me..."
He spat, turning away.
Mason watched his father’s departing back, understanding that he wouldn’t easily forgive Matron, feeling conflicted.
Cynthia observed Lyle’s stance, knowing his deep-seated hatred toward Quinn, making her survival seem doubtful.
Yet, perhaps not entirely.
Besides Aidan, Quinn had lovers in other tribes.
She likely would try everything to alert them for rescue.
