The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 470 - 351: Little Babies
Finished altering the pants, now it’s time to move on to the shirts—eleven more to go in one go.
No, eleven isn’t nearly enough. Each little munchkin needs at least two sets of clothing to change into, so twenty to thirty sets are just the minimum.
And I’ll need to prepare even more.
There’s also the matter of diapers. The Beast World Continent doesn’t have diapers, so I’ll have to sew them from beast hides—everything needs to be prepared.
"I’m doomed..."
She wailed, flopping onto the bed; it’s an impossible task to finish by dawn.
There’s no chance of getting any sleep.
Looking at the eleven little munchkins wearing pants but bare-chested, it’s all a blur of white, plump lotus roots, "Kael? Kael Shadowend? Frey? Little snake number one, two, three... Who are you even?"
She went one by one, trying to identify them.
But these little guys all have the exact appearance of human babies now, porcelain-like and delicate, with big, curious eyes watching her, babbling while reaching out to be held, grinning toothlessly.
Though their appearances varied, she couldn’t tell who their true forms really were.
Barrett Arcanus, Fintan Arcanus, and Zora had been born not long ago and hadn’t transformed yet; now they climbed onto the bed, sitting in a row beside her leg, their furry faces filled with bewilderment.
Zora extended a small paw to poke the cheek of the "new brother" nearest him, not knowing who it was.
The little fellow immediately broke into giggles, drooling on its chin.
Luna Sutton looked at the chubby baby before her, naturally pleased that the child had transformed early.
But the problem is that caring for them is too much trouble.
Deep down, she thought, if only they could freely transform.
Caring for cubs is easier; just keep an eye on them and provide food at regular intervals—they can roll around to their heart’s content.
But human babies are entirely different—unable to speak, unable to walk, prone to random discharges, and far less resilient than the sturdy cub form.
Just thinking about it made her feel dizzy.
"System."
She almost gritted her teeth when she called, "What’s happening? How did they suddenly transform? Didn’t Corbin Crowley say they wouldn’t transform until at least two years old? And now, at this crucial moment."
The system responded almost instantly, its voice tinged with schadenfreude, "Host, the concentration of the Spiritual Spring in the space is too high, combined with the superior bloodline and aptitude of these eleven cubs, early transformation is entirely normal."
"Normal phenomenon?"
Luna Sutton looked at the baby wearing only pants, one who—unbeknownst to him—had stuffed his foot in his mouth.
Another was inching his way toward the bed’s edge, nearly taking a headlong dive.
She quickly caught him, feeling utterly spent, "How is this normal? With the plague rampant outside, how can I have the energy to care for these babies? Plus, these pants have just been altered, but as for the shirts, there’s no sign of them yet."
She pointed at the half-done, empty little clothes piled at the bedside.
The rescued munchkin wasn’t fazed and instead giggled in her arms, extending his chubby, lotus-like arms to grab at her hair.
The other little ones saw and began reaching out to her, surrounding her with a dozen or so "carry me" thoughts.
Barrett Arcanus, Fintan Arcanus, and Zora were clustered in the bed’s foot, their big, dark eyes filled with confusion and a bit of grievance.
They couldn’t fathom why so many "bare brothers" had suddenly appeared, stealing the Matron’s attention.
"What’s so difficult? Just have them revert back to their cub form."
The system casually answered, "However, since they transformed suddenly, they may not yet be able to control it. Perhaps take the time to ask them or patiently guide them—they understand even if they can’t speak just yet and can’t reply."
Luna Sutton’s eyes sparkled with relief as she gazed expectantly at the little ones, "Can you all revert to beast form? Just for a short while, so Matron can recognize you—a deal?"
She hopefully asked them one by one, making exaggerated expressions at the eleven munchkins, trying to communicate.
Unfortunately, her only replies were the babbling and wildly flailing chubby hands, unclear if they understood.
Indeed, one little guy either tried hard to turn over or transform, eventually rolling off the bedside with a thud.
"Oh my!"
Her heart raced up into her throat as she swiftly scooped up the little one poised to fall off the bed.
The little fellow seemed to enjoy this "game," kicking his legs in her arms, wanting to overturn again.
Luna Sutton sighed and decided not to fuss over this matter.
The urgent task was to complete the shirts for these little ones to avoid catching a chill.
Resigned, she picked up the needle and thread, sewing the little clothes while sneaking glances at the eleven munchkins on the bed.
Suddenly, inspiration struck, "System, you said they can understand human speech, right? So they can pick their own clothes, can’t they?"
She held up a newly altered little shirt and waved it at the munchkins, "Whoever reverts first gets to wear this."
Her voice barely faded away when the closest chubby baby flashed a light, a silver cub squatting at the original spot, its big, dark eyes fixed on the shirt in her hand.
"Kael, turns out it’s you, you little fellow."
She excitedly scooped up the silver wolf cub, planting a kiss on its furry forehead, "Matron’s precious, so clever."
The other munchkins immediately became restless, babbling in excitement.
One little guy frantically smacked the bed board, then black radiance flashed, turning into a black wolf cub, almost rolling off.
"Kael Shadowend, don’t hurry."
Luna Sutton swiftly steadied it—transformed into its true form meant it wouldn’t need clothes.
What followed was chaos.
One munchkin got stuck midway during its transformation—its upper body human-shaped, its lower a blue snake tail, crying in frustration.
"Isn’t this Azure?"
Her expression shifted drastically—if he couldn’t revert, he’d become a Beastmen. In the Beast World Continent, they have extremely low status, only slightly better than beasts without intelligence.
She tried her best not to panic, calming herself to patiently guide him, "Azure, take it slow; first change back, then we can transform again, okay?"
She gently coaxed, channeling Wood Element Ability into his body.
Azure furrowed his little brow, striving to control his body, eventually reverting to his blue Aethel Serpent form amid a shimmering glow, nestling against her palm.
"Darling, such a star!"
She exhaled in relief, then addressed the other munchkins, "Come, transform back for Matron’s recognition."
With Azure’s example, the remaining munchkins smoothly reverted to their true forms, Kael, Kael Shadowend, Frey, along with Miles Veridian, Crimson, Azure, Aurelius, Zane, lined up, heads high, waiting for her roll call.
"Kael, Kael Shadowend, Frey, Xerxes Blackwood, Miles Veridian, Crimson, Azure, Aurelius, Zane..."
Luna Sutton tapped their foreheads one by one, finding none missing—each had transformed back—she heaved a sigh of relief.
Barrett Arcanus, Fintan Arcanus, and Zora seemed to find this entertaining, frantically turning circles, seemingly wanting to learn shape-shifting as well.
She laughed, patting them, "There, you’re still young. When you’ve grown bigger, you’ll be able to transform like your brothers."
She gathered these cubs in the living room, then headed to the kitchen to slice some raw meat, placing it in a dish for them to eat.
At this moment, she couldn’t be bothered to cook—cubs naturally eat raw meat.
"Alright, eat first. Matron will alter the clothes tomorrow."
While the cubs dove into their meal, she approached the large wooden barrel, glimpsing the Dragon Egg and Phoenix Egg soaking quietly inside, their shells increasingly lustrous.
With the space so rich in spiritual energy, and the Holy Water in the barrel, they might hatch early.
She stepped outside the wooden cabin, peering through the space barrier at the outside world. Day had already broken.
Great, no sleep now.
"System, please kindly keep an eye on these cubs for me. If anything arises, immediately inform me."
Luna Sutton considered the plague still raging outside, naturally leaving no time to care for these cubs, so she entrusted the task to the system. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
If anything happened, she’d immediately head back in.
The system helplessly responded, "Host, I’m a noble system, and now you want me to babysit? Well, fine, fine, but it will cost you. Haha, not much, once the task is complete, allow me to deduct some belief power."
She rolled her eyes, "Forget it then, I’ll ask Rhys Blackwood to come babysit."
A rare chance for belief power, which hadn’t been received yet, and the system was already eyeing it—no way.
She flashed out of the space, discovering the courtyard filled with people.
Zeke Veridian, Rhys Blackwood, Corbin Crowley, Malachi Arcanus, Soren Phoenix, Mael Valerius, Priest, witch doctor, The Golden Silkworm King all crowded around the medicine cauldron.
Even her father Lyle Sutton had come over, currently joining in the conversation.
