The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 455 - 339: Stubborn Tsundere
Luna Sutton took the steps, pondering how to broach the subject of body conditioning with Zeke.
Don’t be fooled by Zeke’s sharp tongue; deep down, he’s a stubborn softie. Not only does he have an overpowering ego, but he’s also very sensitive about his image.
If he senses her true intent, slamming the door in anger would be just the least of it.
A lashing of cutting words would be inevitable.
Thinking about this, she had already reached the second floor.
Zeke’s room was at the far east of the second floor, the door slightly ajar.
She stood outside, took a deep breath, and silently bolstered herself: It’s fine, just ’organizing the body, enhancing physique,’ a perfectly valid and natural reason, respecting his pride while tending to his needs. Zeke is so smart, he’ll surely grasp her roundabout concern.
She raised her hand and gently knocked on the door twice.
"Knock, knock."
No response from inside, only silence.
After waiting for a few moments, she pushed the door open.
The room was slightly dim, the window half-opened, a chilly autumn breeze blowing in, making it cold.
Zeke stood with his back to the door, facing the window.
His tall, solitary figure in a green beast-hide robe made him resemble an isolated cold bamboo on a cliff, his long ink-black hair tied with a simple bone hairpin, with a few strands spilling down his neck.
Outside the window, the distant sounds of children laughing and playing faintly drifted in, enhancing the quietness inside.
Luna cleared her throat: "Zeke, what are you watching?"
Zeke didn’t turn around, his gaze still upon the children playing in the yard, his voice indifferent: "Watching them fool around."
She moved to his side, standing still, looking out the window as well.
Kael and the younger ones were gathering once more to play with their abilities, various powers flying around in a dizzying display.
Malachi had returned indoors to put on clothes and then went back to the yard, animatedly gesturing towards Barrett and Fintan, his little siblings, with an expression of frustration.
Complaining that they were too timid to challenge their older brothers.
His hair, cut messily by Zeke, stood akimbo in the wind, complementing his wild yet exasperated face, which added to the comedic effect.
"Pfft!"
She couldn’t hold back and laughed aloud, internally admitting that Malachi had a good mindset. If it were Corbin, Rhys, or Kian Sterling, who knows how they’d retaliate.
Probably with extra vengeance.
After watching for a bit, she withdrew her gaze and turned to Zeke’s side profile, "Malachi speaks without malice, don’t take his words too seriously."
Zeke’s eyes flickered slightly, his tone calm: "I haven’t taken them to heart."
At this point, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, thinking: Sure, I believe you.
If you hadn’t taken it to heart, you wouldn’t have cut his hair, nor sliced his beast-hide robe into pieces.
These words remained unsaid, and she didn’t pursue the topic further.
She tentatively opened her mouth: "Winter is approaching, it’s getting colder day by day, I plan to use Wood Element Ability to help everyone organize their bodies, expel the cold, enhance physical strength for the winter. What do you think... Shall we start with you? This way I’ll be more at ease when you go hunting."
"Organize meridians? Enhance physical strength?"
Zeke finally turned his head slowly, his eyes as green as deep pools, staring straight at Luna’s face, sharp enough to almost pierce through her façade.
Luna felt an unease under his gaze, but outwardly she worked to remain calm and natural, smiling as she replied: "Yes, winter’s here, it’s cold weather, easy to get sick. I thought of using Wood Element Ability to help everyone organize their bodies, this way we can enhance physical strength and resist the cold."
As she spoke, she couldn’t help but feel nervous inside.
Zeke’s gaze was too piercing, seemingly able to uncover any lie.
Fortunately, Zeke didn’t pursue the matter further, merely giving a faint "Mm," as a sign of agreement.
She silently sighed in relief, feeling both fortunate and slightly annoyed.
Clearly, it was for his good, yet why did she feel like she had done something shady?
Seeing Zeke agree, she quickly pulled him to the bedside, as if fearing he might change his mind.
Watching her bustling around, Zeke suddenly spoke, "Why are you nervous?"
Her hand trembled, nearly misdirecting the Wood Element Ability, "Cough, not nervous at all."
"Not nervous, yet your hand is shaking?"
Zeke’s jade green eyes held a hint of teasing, looking at her with a playful expression.
Luna: "..."
Her gaze upon Zeke’s teasing smile made her realize she had been tricked, leaving her a bit flustered with annoyance.
Yet she found no interest in arguing with this pesky man.
A gentle green glow flowed from her palm, traversing along Zeke’s meridians.
She controlled her ability while discreetly observing his expression.
She found that Zeke had unknowingly closed his eyes, his long lashes casting shadows beneath them, his thin lips pressed into a line.
Tsk, even when healing, he’s so prideful.
She initially thought Corbin was the pinnacle of prideful personalities, but compared to him, Zeke was even more so, with a particularly sharp tongue.
Yet, at his core, he’s less domineering than Corbin.
Suddenly, Zeke furrowed his brow and opened his eyes instantly, "Why are you probing below my navel?"
Luna’s hands shook, nearly losing control of her ability, quickly steadying it.
She maintained a composed expression and said with feigned calm, "Don’t move, this is... an important spot where meridians intersect, it must be properly sorted to enhance bodily strength."
Zeke looked at her suspiciously, "Are you sure?"
"Of course."
She confidently straightened her back, "Wood Element ability emphasizes clearing the body’s meridians, if this part isn’t cleared, cold energy will accumulate."
As she spoke, she pointed to his lower abdomen, "See how robust Malachi’s vitality is, he never fears the cold in winter precisely because his circulation here is smooth."
"Poor circulation? So that’s why I can’t have children?"
Zeke suddenly blurted out this sentence, his jade eyes fixed on her face, his lips curved in a mocking arc, "Is your purpose today just to treat my infertility?"
He was so clever, instantly deducing Luna Sutton’s intentions, his exceptionally handsome face clouded, his pride quickly wounded.
Luna Sutton saw Zeke’s darkened face, her mind racing through several thoughts.
Finally, she made a bold decision, directly admitting, "Yes, I just want to help you improve your health."
Zeke’s face darkened further, he tightened his robe and stood up to leave, coldly saying, "I don’t need it."
Realizing Luna discovered he was infertile and even specially came to treat him, just the thought was unbearably embarrassing.
Especially compared to the other mates who could sire children, this embarrassment magnified exponentially.
She hadn’t expected Zeke to react so harshly, leaving immediately.
She hurriedly stood up to chase him, blocking him at the door, "Zeke, don’t leave, hear me out first."
Zeke stopped but didn’t turn around, his extraordinarily handsome face full of embarrassment, his voice very soft, "Luna, give me some dignity, please." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Luna Sutton wanted to laugh a bit, but considering if she truly laughed out loud, Zeke’s prideful self would be even more embarrassed, she forcibly held back.
"Zeke."
She quickly walked over, gently holding his cold hand, her voice softened, "You’ve misunderstood me, I don’t pity you, nor do I think you have any problem."
Zeke didn’t pull away, nor did he turn back, but his body seemed even more tense.
She circled to stand before him, tilting her head to look at him.
Zeke’s jade eyes were filled with complexity, embarrassment, shame, and a hint of injury that was hard to detect.
Her heart softened, her tone gentler, "In my world, such things are very common, they don’t count as major issues. Many couples, regardless of gender, may for various reasons temporarily... well, not easily have children. Stress, environmental changes, a certain stage of bodily conditions, any of these can influence it. Just like... just like when you tire from hunting, your reactions slow down naturally."
She tried hard to use analogies he could understand, carefully avoiding the word "infertility" that might sound harsh to him.
"In my world, there are sages who study the body’s mysteries, they consider this a normal physical state, just as catching a cold and needing medication to recuperate is routine."
She paused, her gaze sincere, seemingly trying to look deep into his eyes, "In my heart, you remain the cool, aloof, powerful Zeke, that has never changed."
Zeke’s tense face seemed to soften, his complexion looking a bit better.
Luna Sutton seized the opportunity, pulling him back, explaining as they walked, "I didn’t mean you have a ’sickness’, just purely wanting your body to be healthier. Winter is coming, coldness is heavy, your true form being the Celestial Moon-chaser Wolf, naturally close to moon essence, more prone to cold invasions. Wood Element ability clears meridians, can dispel cold and keep warm, making winter hunts more comfortable and energetic. As for... that position."
Her face slightly heated, but her voice remained as natural as possible, "It is indeed the intersection of several important meridians, sorting them benefits your overall circulation, boosting immunity, making sickness less likely."
She pulled him to sit back by the bed, her palm glowing with radiant green light once more.
This time she didn’t rush, but looked into his jade eyes, earnestly saying, "Zeke, as your partner, I care about your health, want you to comfortably and healthily pass the winter, what’s wrong with that? Would you prefer I refrain from helping when I can, just to protect your so-called ’dignity’? That would truly treat you as an outsider."
The green light gently approached his wrist, with pure life energy, softly permeating his skin.
"Besides, I also want a little one belonging to both of us."
She added softly.
This sentence was truly a potent remedy for Zeke.
Zeke’s expression grew complex, Luna already had so many pups, he’d thought she wouldn’t be too eager for their own child.
Not uninterested, but whether they had one or not wouldn’t be terribly important.
But upon hearing her say this, he felt unexpectedly joyful inside.
He no longer resisted, not saying any words of rejection, allowing her to treat him.
Indeed, as she said, he also longed for a child of their own, a child with both of their blood.
This would also be the crystallization of their love.
