The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 412 - 315: Opening
Kian Sterling had just arrived at Grolnok and noticed Luna Sutton leaving on Soren Phoenix’s back.
Rhys Blackwood followed closely behind with Zeke Veridian, but it was unclear where they were headed.
A bad premonition crept into his heart, but he didn’t intervene; instead, he quietly followed them in secret.
...
The Godsbane Mountains live up to their name; they are an ancient and mysterious range.
Legend has it that in ancient times, a Beast God fell here, and its body formed the mountains, with its blood dyeing the land red, thus earning the name Godsbane Mountains.
By the time Luna Sutton and her companions reached the Godsbane Mountains, the sky was already completely dark.
The dim moonlight shone on the mountains, adding an aura of mystery and uncertainty to the ancient range.
"Luna, what are we doing here?"
Soren Phoenix, carrying her, spoke in a human voice, his puzzled words drifting with the mountain wind.
Luna Sutton did not answer, only half-closing her eyes as she gazed into the depths of the mountains, silently calling in her mind to the system: "System, are you sure it’s here? Will the entrance to The Endless Abyss really appear here?"
The system responded with a hum in her mind, then explained: "According to ancient texts and the results of calculations, there’s an eighty percent chance."
She felt slightly reassured.
Eighty percent was already very high.
The entrance to The Endless Abyss appeared randomly, and for the system to predict this much was extremely difficult.
"Host, Kian Sterling has secretly followed and is now hidden in the shadows."
The system whispered a reminder.
She discreetly glanced around and indeed caught a faint glimpse of a white shadow among the trees not far away.
Kian Sterling had actually dared to follow, even hiding in the darkness—what was he planning?
Did he intend to sneak in when everyone was unaware, and then eliminate them when The Endless Abyss opened? And then cover up his tracks?
If Malachi Arcanus and Mael Valerius were dead, only then could the deeds he had done be buried forever, not exposed.
Next, did he plan to deal with Rhys Blackwood and Zeke Veridian one by one inside?
Finally to completely occupy her heart?
She didn’t want to view Kian Sterling with such dark suspicions.
But his actions forced her to think this way.
The night wind swept over the bare rocks of the Godsbane Mountains, making a weeping sound.
The moonlight outlined the sinister silhouette of the massive mountain shadow.
The air was filled with an ancient and decaying smell, suffocating to the point of being oppressive, making hearts feel heavy.
Soren Phoenix folded his fiery red wings in the night, transformed to human form, and gently placed her down from his back, turning to support her.
Luna Sutton’s belly was very large, and after flying so quickly, her face had paled a bit.
Under normal circumstances, such a large belly should be resting in the tribe.
But with Malachi Arcanus and Mael Valerius’ fates uncertain, how could she possibly stay in the tribe to rest?
The child wasn’t born yet; if its fathers died, how pitiful would that be?
"Luna, what are you looking for exactly?"
Soren Phoenix helped her steady herself, recalling her previous silence, couldn’t help but ask again.
"The entrance to the Abyss."
Luna Sutton replied casually.
She squinted, staring at the particularly dense shadowy area of the mountain in front of them.
The air there seemed to ripple ever so slightly, her eyes gleamed as she exclaimed with joy, "It’s over there; I can sense it."
Rhys Blackwood and Zeke Veridian landed and transformed into human forms, their gazes directed toward that area.
Sure enough, they noticed that the mountain there was different, with shadows appearing much deeper in the night, and the air seemed to ripple subtly.
Although it wasn’t very obvious, the two of them spotted it immediately.
"It really is The Endless Abyss, but when will it appear? How long do we have to wait here?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Zeke Veridian’s emerald green eyes were fixated there, filled with worry and impatience.
The three of them waiting here didn’t matter, but Luna with her large belly standing in the cold wind wasn’t ideal.
They also had no idea about Malachi Arcanus’ condition; hopefully, nothing had happened to him.
As for The Mad Dragon, he wasn’t particularly fond of it, but given the circumstances of its self-sacrifice to save Malachi Arcanus, he could overlook it.
Rhys Blackwood noticed Luna Sutton’s pale face, and his expression tensed slightly.
He removed the snakeskin cloak he was wearing, stepped over, and gently wrapped it around her shoulders.
"The wind is strong at night; who knows when The Endless Abyss will open."
His gaze flickered to her swollen belly, as he softly continued, "How about this, let Soren Phoenix take you back first. Zeke and I will stay here, and once The Endless Abyss opens, we will go in to find them."
With Luna’s belly so large, who knew when she might give birth; it really wasn’t suitable for her to stay here.
