Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Snake Tail

She didn’t rush to confront Mia, but instead asked the system in her heart, "System, where’s my snakeskin? Did Mia steal it?"

The system replied lazily, "It wasn’t Mia, it was your jealous king, Corbin Crowley. He threw the snakeskin away while you were asleep, not even a trace left."

Luna Sutton: "..."

Good grief, can this jealous man get any worse? Not even sparing the snakeskin, how is she supposed to explain this to Rhys Blackwood tonight?

She rubbed her temples, glanced at the sky, and decided to deal with Rhys Blackwood first.

If the snakeskin’s gone, it’s gone. It’s not like Rhys Blackwood lacks these snakeskins anyway.

She deliberately changed into a cool beast skin skirt, planning to sneak over to Rhys Blackwood’s place via a small path.

And bumped right into Corbin Crowley.

He came up holding a bowl of steaming hot soup, his expression meaningful.

"Awake? Have some soup to replenish yourself."

After leaving the cave, he had gone to The Emberwaste Ridge, where he just so happened to encounter a Ley-line Dragon Turtle that had awoken from who knows how long a slumber, so he brought it back to make soup.

He certainly couldn’t cook soup himself, so he asked Matron Faye, an elder female of the tribe, to do it, in exchange for a piece of beast meat.

The taste wasn’t as good as Luna Sutton’s soup, but it was alright.

Luna Sutton glanced at it but didn’t reach out to take it, instead looking up at Corbin Crowley and asked straightforwardly, "Be honest, did you crush the snakeskin that Rhys Blackwood gave to me?"

Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes slightly flickered, "Snakeskin? What snakeskin? I don’t know!"

She twitched at the corner of her mouth and cursed inwardly: This guy is quite the actor.

"The stack of snakeskin that Rhys Blackwood gave me! I put it by the bed, and you secretly threw it away while I was asleep, leaving not even a trace, you think I don’t know?"

She glared at him angrily.

Corbin Crowley’s expression turned cold, "Destroying his snakeskin? Ha, I’m not that bored."

Luna Sutton pouted, this guy’s acting was quite convincing, the Oscars owed him a Goldie.

No, the entire awards ceremony should be his.

She couldn’t be bothered to bicker with Corbin Crowley anymore, she directly bypassed him, intending to sneak into Rhys Blackwood’s cave.

But she had barely taken two steps when Corbin Crowley grabbed her wrist, his silver eyes narrowed, "Where are you going?"

She blinked her eyes, feigning ignorance, "Just going for a walk."

Corbin Crowley sneered, "A walk? By the cliff?"

Luna Sutton’s heart thumped, she was just about to make excuses.

Suddenly, a cold wind blew, and a massive black serpent coiled its way swiftly from below the cliff.

Its icy vertical pupils stared straight at Corbin Crowley, speaking in a hoarse, threatening voice, "Let her go."

Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes remained unyielding, "What if I don’t let go?"

Rhys Blackwood’s serpent tail whipped out, directly coiling around Luna Sutton’s waist, coldly saying, "It’s my turn tonight."

Luna Sutton was instantly pulled to his side, the cold and smooth scales made her involuntarily shiver.

Even though Rhys Blackwood was a super handsome guy, his original form still made her feel scared.

Corbin Crowley’s eyes darkened, lifting his hand to grab Luna Sutton, but Rhys Blackwood’s serpent tail whipped him away, instantly turning the atmosphere between them tense and on edge.

"Rhys Blackwood, what do you mean by this?!"

His voice was as cold as ice shards, a hint of murderous intent flickering in his silver eyes.

Rhys Blackwood coldly met his gaze, his serpent tail tightening slightly, protecting Luna Sutton even more closely, "She belongs to me tonight, don’t make things difficult for yourself."

Luna Sutton, caught between the two of them, felt speechless. This chaotic scene was too intense, fearing the two might end up fighting.

Corbin Crowley obviously had no intentions to back down, his silver eyes narrowed, in an instant transforming into the Silver-moon Grey Wolf, his massive beast form blocking Rhys Blackwood, growling lowly, "Do you think you can take her away?"

Rhys Blackwood snorted coldly, his serpent tail swept out, taking Luna Sutton and soaring into the air, coldly said, "Try me."

Luna Sutton only felt a whirlwind spinning around her, the wind whistling past her ears, Rhys Blackwood’s serpent tail tightly wrapped around her, taking her swiftly up the cliff face.

She couldn’t help but look back, seeing Corbin Crowley’s Silver-moon Grey Wolf howling furiously in place.

Clearly, he had been completely enraged by Rhys Blackwood’s actions.

"Rhys Blackwood, what about Corbin Crowley?"

Luna Sutton couldn’t help but ask in a low voice.

While secretly relieved to finally break free from Corbin Crowley’s entanglement, she feared the man’s wrath could lower his favorability for her.

Fortunately, there was no system prompt indicating a decrease in favorability, slightly calming her mind.

Rhys Blackwood glanced down at her, a hint of coldness flickered in his serpent pupils, "Why worry about him, don’t forget, I’m also your Beast Husband."

Corbin Crowley breaking the rules by trying to monopolize his mate, it’s lucky he didn’t lash out at him.

She was incredibly tense inside, fearing Corbin Crowley would catch up.

Arriving at Rhys Blackwood’s cave, he transformed back into his human form and gently set her down.

He gazed at her deeply, noticing she wore a beast skin skirt. While it was quite airy, it wasn’t made of snakeskin.

His brows furrowed slightly as he asked coldly, "Where’s the snakeskin I gave you? Why didn’t you make it into clothing?"

Luna Sutton’s heart skipped a beat when Rhys mentioned the snakeskin. She forced a laugh, trying to brush it off, "Ah, that... the snakeskin might have been blown away by the wind, you know, the tribe’s winds are strong, and it could just vanish."

Rhys’s eyes darkened, and he grabbed her chin, forcing her to look directly at him. "Blown away by the wind? Do you take me for a fool?"

His intense gaze made her scalp tingle, and internally, she cursed Corbin Crowley, that damned man, a thousand times over.

Facing the inevitable, she shrugged with an air of indifference, "Fine, it was that bastard Corbin Crowley who took it while I was asleep, scattering it till not even ashes were left."

Rhys sneered, releasing her chin, and turned to walk deeper into the cave.

"Heh... quite the jealousy there."

He let out a short, hollow laugh, his expression icy and full of mockery.

Luna Sutton quickly followed, "Rhys, don’t be mad, anyway, the snakeskin’s gone, we can still..."

Before she could finish, Rhys suddenly turned, pinning her against the cave wall. He leaned in close, his warm breath brushing across her face, "Then don’t wear anything."

His voice was low and magnetic, extraordinarily pleasing to the ear.

Luna Sutton: "..."

Before she could react, Rhys kissed her, as if pouring all his emotions into the kiss.

Unconsciously, her hands climbed up to his shoulders.

This icy man, usually as cold as ice, turned out to be so wild when he got serious.

Rhys’s hand glided down her waistline, his fingertips deftly teasing, causing the beast skin skirt to drop instantly.

Luna Sutton felt a chill across her body and, before she could react, he lifted her horizontally and tossed her onto the stone bed lined with beast skins.

The next moment, her eyes widened suddenly, with a struck-by-lightning expression.

Her mind screamed wildly: Holy crap, what’s going on?! The snake beast actually has two...?!

This setup is way too hardcore! I’m not playing this chaotic scene anymore, let me go home!

Suddenly, she felt like she had fallen into some bizarre educational documentary.

And it’s the not-for-children channel.

"Rhys, wait a moment!"

She pushed him away and forced herself to calm down, "I think we need to talk first."

Rhys paused, his cold eyes narrowing slightly, "Talk about what?"

Luna Sutton swallowed nervously, trying hard to keep her voice steady, "Well... do all snake beasts... have this?"

Rhys raised an eyebrow, his tone indifferent, "Hmm, it’s a snake trait."

Luna Sutton: "..."

What kind of trait is this? This is basically a double power-up, isn’t it?

Rhys, noting her daze, spoke with a hint of danger, "What, having regrets?"

She feigned calmness, forcing a laugh, "How could I? It’s just a little... tense."

Rhys raised an eyebrow, his gaze deep, "Tense? Weren’t you bold enough last night?"

Luna Sutton roared internally, "How can that compare?! Last night was single power-up, now it’s double. I’m worried my health bar isn’t enough!"

But outwardly, she maintained her composure, giving a light cough, "Um, Rhys, why don’t we have a little fun first?"

Rhys raised an eyebrow, his gaze growing deeper, "Fun?"

Her mind raced, and with a deliberately mysterious blink, she suggested, "Yeah, I heard a snake beast’s tail is quite special, why not... we play with the tail first?"

Rhys fell silent for a moment, his cold eyes narrowing slightly, his tone laced with danger, "Are you sure?"

Her heart skipped a beat, momentarily wondering if she misspoke.

But she nodded resolutely, "Sure, of course, I’m sure!"

Rhys said nothing, but his legs somehow transformed into a tail, slipping from behind, slowly coiling around her waist. The cold touch made her shiver involuntarily.

Half human, half snake form.

"Then, give it a try."

His voice was low, carrying a hint of teasing.

Luna Sutton, feeling the cold snake tail, froze instantly, a wave of goosebumps spreading across her skin.

She fought back the urge to scream, internally ranting:

Help! What kind of deadly experience is this?!

Why did I suggest playing with the tail?! Why couldn’t I keep my mouth shut?
