The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 93: Help Once
Princess Eleanor sat on the chair as she took a sip. πππππ°π²π―π»ππππΉ.ππ¨π
Her eyes were fixed on the person sitting in front of her. Princess Eleanor smiled as she kept the cup down and said, "Why is Lady Gisella not drinking the tea? Should I ask Nia to make a fresh cup?"
Lady Gisella smiled as she shook her head. She took the cup in her hand as she took a few sips. "It is quite good. I did not know your lady in waiting had a talent in making ea."
"Nia has a lot of talents. But letβs talk about it some other days," Princess Eleanor said with a smile, "I want to discuss something else."
Lady Gisellaβs body became aware. She straightened her back as she nodded her head. "I was expecting that the Princess would tell me what was bothering her as soon as I came in."
"I could have," Princess Eleanor laughed. "But I was thirsty."
Lady Gisella did not say anything. She leaned back as she looked at Princess Eleanor. Only looked at her as if she was silently asking her to continue.
"I heard the one person who is well aware of all the rumors in the Roulux Empire is Lady Gisella." Princess Eleanor leaned back as she imitated Lady Gisella.
Lady Gisellaβs lips curled up. Her eyes narrowed as she blinked her eyes, "Yes, but how did Princess Eleanor know that?"
"Just like the lady I have my ways, but unlike you I have limitations." Princess Eleanor leaned forward as she looked straight into Lady Gisellaβs eyes. "I need your help."
"The Princess needs my help?" Lady Gisella smiled as she looked up at the Princess. So tell me what do you need my help with?"
"I know that Lady Gisella is well aware that we are not the only ones who got attacked. The Princess of Cenid kingdom was also attacked."
Lady Gisella nodded her head. It was not really a secret. Almost everyone knew about it. It was an open scene when the knights of the Cenid kingdom blamed the other Kingdomβs knights.
"I am aware of it. And the Royal knights are looking into it. We will soon know who is the one behind it." Lady Gisella said but she still could not understand why the Princess had called her here.
Lady Gisella knew that the tensions between them had calmed down a lot.
Lady Gisella had accepted that Princess Eleanor would be the one that Sir Kir would be protecting. Although it was hard for her to believe that the Princess would come to Beaumontβs mansion for treatment, she had grown to accept it.
"I want to know why us?" Princess Eleanor asked. She looked at Lady Gisella who raised her eyebrow in question. Princess Eleanor could not help but sigh, "I want to know why only we two were attacked? Did they attack someone else who is trying to remain silent? Or were they planning to attack other Princesses too but did not make it there in time?"
"Wait Princess," Lady Gisellaβs eyes were wide open. She leaned forward in a hurry as she raised her hand to make Princess Eleanor stop her questioning. "Why do you have so many questions?"
"I am just curious," Princess Eleanor murmured. Her eyes stayed on Lady Gisella as if she was hoping that the Lady might understand her, "It is bugging my mind. And now that Princess Vida is trying to bond with me I just could not get the thought out of my mind."
"Wait, Princess Vida? Princess of the Cenid Kingdom is trying to bond with you?" Lady Gisella was confused, "You are competitors. And as per what I know the Cenid Kingdom only had one Princess and they wanted to be relatives with the Royal family."
Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes, "So that means Princess Vida is one of the strongest competitors for the Crown Princessβs position?"
"To be honest, yes. There are only a few that did not care if they become an Empress or a concubine but there are a few whose Kingdom need support from the Empire and there is no bigger support than that through marriage."
Lady Gisellaβs words made sense. Marriage was a great way of gaining support. "So once someone marries the Crown Prince and becomes the Crown Princess they can provide help to the Kingdom?"
"Well in a way yes. Although the Kingdoms are independent, they do come under the Empire. And the most powerful in the Empire will be the Emperor and Empress." Lady Gisella said. "But I think Princess Eleanor should maintain her distance from the other Princesses. Although their intentions might be good, but there is no harm in being extra careful"
Princess Eleanor nodded her head, "Yes, there is no harm in being extra careful." Princess Eleanorβs eyes looked at Lady Gisella as they twinkled, "So the Lady will help me, wonβt you? I just want to know were we the only two Princesses attacked or others were attacked too?"
Lady Gisella shook her head as she took a deep breath, "I can tell you the rumors that are going around but not facts. But Princess Eleanor should also help me in the near future. If I need your help then you have to do your best."
Princess Eleanor was silent. She was thinking about the possibilities but she soon nodded her head. "I understand, I will help the Lady once."
Lady Gisella was happy as she nodded her head. She did not know how and why she would need the princessβs help, but she felt like she might need it in the near future. Lady Gisella sighed as she took one final sip of the tea, "I can only tell you rumors. No facts but rumors."
Princess Eleanor was smiling as she nodded her head as if she was afraid of Lady Gisella going back on her words. Princess Eleanor took the teacup, and she took a sip of the tea as well. "Yes, only rumors and no facts."
