Chapter 75: Seal It

Princess Eleanor was confused by Sir Kit’s words.

She had just asked for a dagger but his eyes showed that he was not happy with her demands. There was reluctance in his gaze.

"I will take care of it." Princess Eleanor said with a smile. He took the dagger in her hand as she blinked. It looked light but once she held it in her hands, Princess Eleanor knew that it was heavy.

"And how can I believe you?" Sir Kit said. He looked at the dagger and the person holding it. He hated giving it to anyone else but when Princess Eleanor held it, there was no anxious feeling in him.

Princess Eleanor’s eyes shivered. The give and take between them were never following the rules. It was always piling up one way or the other.

"What can I do?" Princess Eleanor said with a smile. She did not know how to react to this anymore.

"Let’s seal it," Sir Kit said. His eyes were glowing as if he wanted to do something that he should not. His body moved on its own as he looked at Princess Eleanor.

"Seal it?" Princess Eleanor asked but before she could get an answer her lips were touched by something soft. It was for a brief second but it was enough to increase her heartbeats. She did not know what to do anymore but the source of heat left her lips within a fraction of a second.

"Seal it with a kiss," Sir Kit smiled as he licked his lips as if he was savoring the taste.

Princess Eleanor’s eyes shivered as her breathing hitched. Her fingers touched her lips in a daze but before she could complain the man in the mask had long gone. He disappeared right in front of her eyes, but Princess Eleanor also knew that maybe he walked away when she was in her dreamland.

Princess Eleanor looked around the room as she took a deep breath. Her heart was still beating faster and she did not know what else to be done.

’Was it a dream?’

’Am I thinking too much?’

’It must be,’

Princess Eleanor’s mind was a mess. She could not understand if it was real or not but soon something cold in her hand made her realize that it was not a dream, it really happened.

Princess Eleanor looked down at the dagger. "It is all your mistake," Princess Eleanor looked at the dagger, "I only asked him to give me something that I saw, who would have thought thatSir Kit values you so much more. So much that he would kiss a Crown Princess’s candidate."

Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she held the dagger tightly, "Now that I have paid the prize, let me be your master till the time you go back to him."

Princess Eleanor looked at the door that was closed. The moonlight shining through the window was showing the gold carving on the door. ’Sir Kit might have left through it,’

Princess Eleanor’s mind was going in rounds and no matter what she could only think of Sir Kit in this situation. Princess Eleanor bit her lips in annoyance, "I have gone crazy,"

Princess Eleanor left the room in a hurry. She did not want anyone else to see her sneaking out at night.

"Princess," Nia walked towards Princess Eleanor as she saw her coming into her room.

"Did anyone come?" Princess Eleanor asked. Her eyes looked at Nia who shook her hands.

Princess Eleanor did not react as she walked toward the bed as she sat on it. She showed the dagger to Nia as she said, "I want to keep this on my body at all times. Find a place that will hide it completely."

Nia was confused but she nodded her head. Nia looked at the dagger as she started imagining where she could hide it.

"The size is small but it is heavy," Princess Eleanor said with a smile, "Why not place it on my upper thigh? It will be easier to hide with my long dresses."

Nia nodded her head as she asked, "Did anything happen?"

Princess Eleanor was silent for a second. Her mind flashed through the brief moment when her lips were kissed. Princess Eleanor’s body was filled with heat but she shook her head trying to act normal.

"Nia, the next time Sir Kit asks you anything, tell him to have a word with me directly. I will give him whatever I want but right now the priority is getting out of here."

Nia nodded her head as she looked at the Princess. She could feel that something was happening between the two but she could not pinpoint it. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Nia, do we have the roots?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked at her lady in waiting, whose eyes were filled with horror.

"Pr... Princess?" Nia said in a trembling voice. She swallowed hard as she took a step back in fear.

Princess Eleanor could understand what was going on in Nia’s mind. Princess Eleanor held Nia’s hand as she pulled her near her, "Sit here,"

Nia was silent but she obeyed the Princess. She sat down beside her as she looked up.

Princess Eleanor smiled, "I want to go back to the Angevin Kingdom once they determine that I am not the Princess they are looking for." Princess Eleanor’s voice turned soft as she continued, "So we need Duke Beaumont and Sir Kit’s help. I have asked them to shift me to their mansion. We have to make sure that we win their hearts and they let us go."

"But the roots..." Nia asked in confusion.

"The temple will not allow me to move there. So if my illness is not cured then only the Duke’s doctor can help me." Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as she touched Nia’s hand, "I hope you understand what I am saying, Nia. My health should not improve in the temple."

Nia was silent but she soon nodded her head. She had decided to follow Princess Eleanor and she would do it till the end.
