The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 66: Military Batch
Lady Gisella smiled as she waited for the Princess to get in the carriage.
"I hope the Princess is feeling better now," Lady Gisella said with a smile on her face but her eyes were narrowed as she looked at Princess Eleanor’s legs.
"Nia, why are you not getting in?" Princess Eleanor ignored Lady Gisella’s words but she looked at Nia asking her the question.
Nia was silent as she bit her lips. Her eyes fluttered between Lady Gisella and Princess Eleanor before she took a deep breath. "I will be traveling with the other lady in waiting." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Princess Eleanor wanted to say something when she heard Lady Gisella’s words, "Do not worry Princess, their carriage will be right at the back."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she looked at Nia walking back. Her eyes lingered until the carriage door was closed.
Princess Eleanor looked around as she saw the space in the carriage. It was a large and spacious room even more spacious than what she was used to when her parents were ali\ve.
Princess Eleanor looked at the side as she saw Lady Gisella looking at her. The princess knew that she was observed. It was a feeling she had never felt before but the feeling was getting stronger.
"The Lady wanted to know if I was feeling better?" Princess Eleanor asked but she continued before listening to Lady Gisella’s answer as if she knew what was coming next, "I am feeling better but I do not know if the wound will leave a mark."
Princess Eleanor looked down at her leg which was covered in bandages. Her eyes were filled with small teardrops.
Lady Gisella was speechless. She left like the Princess was still in pain but in reality, Princess Eleanor but her tongue was bitten just to cry the tears out. The drop was water ran down her cheeks which Princess Eleanor rubbed quickly as if she was afraid of what Lady Gisella would think about it.
Princess Eleanor looked up at the Lady whose eyes were filled with sympathy. "What will happen next? Will the Priest be angry?"
Lady Giselle was in deep thoughts. She knew that they were attacked and the Princess was injured in the process. There was a possibility that the temple would doubt the Princess about this.
’What if the temple and Priest Erasum think that the Princess called the attack on herself?’ Lady Gisella shook the thought away as she continued thinking, ’No, this cannot be done. The other Princess also got attacked. Who knows, maybe more Princesses will be attacked along their ways.’
Lady Gisella believed that things might turn different if more Princesses were injured. She looked at Princess Eleanor and decided to voice her opinion. After all, according to Sir Kit, she needed to get along with Princess Eleanor.
"There is a possibility that the temple might ask the Princess to stay at the temple till the time she heals the injury." Lady Gisella said.
"What if it leaves a mark?" Princess Eleanor leaned back in her seat. The carriage was on its road as she felt the movement but her body was much more relaxed. Was it because the carriage gave her the space to move freely? Princess Eleanor did not know but her body was at ease and so was her mind, "I heard that the Roulux Empire does not allow any injuries on their Crown Princess’s body. Some dark rumors are going around it as well."
"We do not discuss the rumors here." Lady Gisella said in a stiff tone, cutting Princess Eleanor’s words in between. Her eyes darkened as if she was ready to fight but soon when Lady Gisella realized that Princess Eleanor was silent she took a deep breath as she continued, "But the rumors are true."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. Her eyes looked outside as she saw the seal on the knight’s uniform again. The question that she wanted to ask from the start started to bottle up.
"Are all the knights here a part of the royal family’s military batch?" Princess Eleanor asked as she continued looking outside. She knew that Lady Gisella might not know what she was talking about as a smile played on her face.
Sure enough, when Princess Eleanor looked inside she saw Lady Gisella raise her eyebrows in confusion. Her eyes were filled with questions.
’Exactly what I wanted,’ Princess Eleanor said as she looked outside innocently. She raised her finger as she pointed out to a knight randomly and said, "Few of them have a seal of a dragon and a few of lions, eagles, and so on. I think they belong to different troops of the military, right? I heard that some of the Kingdoms do that to distinguish the forces."
Lady Gisella shook her head in denial. Although it was fun to listen to Princess Eleanor’s words, Lady Gisella knew that it might not reflect well on Princess Eleanor if she said those words outside.
"Actually they do not belong to the Royal family forces, at least not all." Lady Gisella smiled as she explained, "The seals were created by the royals for all the people responsible for Princesses’ safety but the symbol on them belongs to the family that the knights belong to."
LadyGisella looked at the sparkling eyes of Princess Eleanor who was eager to know more. She was different from the ruthless Princess she had seen yesterday. "The lion represents the Royal family while the dragon represents House Beaumont."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head, "The eagle and deers are also symbols of the family?"
"Yes, they belong to the Marquess’s families." Lady Gisella replied. She was satisfied that Princess Eleanor understood it quickly.
"So Sir Kit and the Lady belong to the house of Grand Duke? House Beaumont?" Princess Eleanor asked as her eyes narrowed.
As soon as Lady Gisella heard the words her eyes widened in shock. She did not know why she was afraid to answer that but when she saw princess Eleanor’s on her, Lady Gisella could not help but nod her head in agreement. "Yes,"
