The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 53: Heavy Heart
Sir Kit was confused. What was on Nia’s mind?
His eyes narrowed as he took a step towards the lady in waiting who looked like someone who was ready to kill if required.
"If you might have not made all those lies then Princess Eleanor would not have to implement harming herself just to prove a point." Nia’s eyes were faring at Sir Kit. Her nostrils were flaring as anger rose in her heart. "We will be going to meet Priest Erasmus and now here you are telling everyone that Princess Eleanor is injured. Haven’t you ever thought for one what will Princess Eleanor do if she was asked about the injuries? What would she do if they wanted to treat it? Because of your small words she had to pretend. What am I even saying? She did not pretend. Princess Eleanor never intended to. She went ahead and hurt herself. She created the injuries that were never real."
Sir Kit’s eyes widened. He could feel that whatever Nia was saying was true but his mind was still stuck to the blood droplets on the rug.
’The Princess had hurt herself,’ Sir Kit thought. His body was tense, ’She did it because of me. Because I said something that was not true. Maybe I should have just said that the Princess passed out due to the fatigue. That would have been more realistic. Why did I say she was injured?’
Sir Kit did not want to acknowledge it now, but his mind was processing faster. "I will fix it." Sir Kit said those words as he moved towards the tent where Princess Eleanor was staying.
’I know why I did that,’ Sir Kit’s mind was full of thoughts. He did not pay any attention to the lady in waiting’s plea. ’I did that to see how desperate was the Princess to survive. What would she do to achieve what she wanted? It was a test to assure me that I only needed to pay attention to her and not let her get killed in the palace as I had promised her. But...’
Sir Kit stood in front of the tent as his body turned stiff. His eyes lingered inside as he bit his lips. Sir Kit took a deep breath before entering the tent.
"Oh, Nia. You are back? Did you bring the water? Even if you did not just pass me the perfuse that is on the table and a handkerchief. I think I can make use of it." Princess Eleanor’s voice came from the inside.
Although the tent was small it was still divided into compartments. Sir Kit did not wait for another second as I took hold of the perfume bottle before he took a handkerchief from his pocket.
Listening to the moments outside Princess Eleanor’s ears sharpened. She felt like there was someone else and not Nia that was in the tent. Her heart started beating faster as she looked at the side only to see Sir Kit standing there.
Princess Eleanor could see that his eyes were not focused on her but on her legs. It was then that she realized that he was looking at the wound on her leg. Although she had rewrapped the area the burning sensation was still present. That was the reason why she was blowing on it from time to time.
"Princess..." Sir Kit said as he took a step forward. Maybe his eyes showed the emotions he was going through as Princess Eleanor shook her head.
"I am all right." Princess Eleanor smiled as she extended her hand to take the perfume bottle from Sir Kit’s hand. "Thank you,"
Her eyes linger on his finger as if she was searching. "Sir Kit should ash his hand."
"It won’t be necessary," 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"I think it is extremely necessary." Princess Eleanor said as her eyes looked straight at Sir Kit before she continued, "Don’t you think that you should listen to my words? After all, I went to such lengths to make your words come true."
Sir Kit’s lips twitched. He could not say anything as his eyes were burning to look at Princess Eleanor as if he would drill a hole in her if given a chance. But it became known to him soon that no matter what Princess Eleanor would not budge now.
Sir Kit took a deep breath as he nodded, "I will come back soon," With those words Sir kit waked out to wash his hands.
Princess Eleanor’s lips curled up as she took a few drops of her perfume on the handkerchief before she took a few smells of it. She knew what her reaction would be and she needed that reaction now.
’It’s okay. I can handle this much.’ Princess Eleanor told herself with a heavy heart.
